Android :: Best App - Comparable To Dragon Dictation
Feb 26, 2010Please forgive me if this has been asked before...i searched but couldnt find what i was lookng for. Im new to smart phones. (i just got my droid eris 3 days ago) And my friend has this app called dragon dictation on his iphone where he never has to text he can just speak and it writes it out for him. I was wondering whats the best app for the droid that can do this?

Oct 9, 2013I want to use google voice dictation, but advanced punctuation like quotation marks and parentheses and next line, do not show up when I dictate. it also doesn't like to capitalize the first letter of a sentence.
Dragon seems to handle it well, but I can't use dragon with the Samsung note keyboard.

Is it any better in Android 4.4.2 KitKat (which I'm waiting for within Q1 of 2014)?
General :: Continuous Voice Dictation In Jelly Bean?
May 13, 2013OK, I just updated my phone to JB (from ICS), and the one thing that I do not like about JB is that the voice dictation feature took one step back. In ICS, I had continuous voice dictation, which allowed me to take long pauses in between sentences. In JB, the voice dictation automatically stops if there's a pause longer than a couple of seconds. This is incredibly annoying.
Is there any way possible to get continuous voice dictation in JB?? I use this feature a lot, and it's such a nuisance always having to tap the microphone button after any type of pause.

General :: No SMS Counter With Dragon ICS
Apr 25, 2012I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with the Dragon ICS V2.0 .Its a great Rom so far but i dont have a sms signs counter. I have no flatrate for my sms and i need a counter where i can see how many signs i have until the second sms start.The Android Version is 4.0.4.I like the Dragon Style and hope to get the counter.If this is not possible i use Handcent.

Jul 20, 2010I need a decent voice dictation recording application that will run on my Droid-X. About the only thing I've found is a horrible app called Dictosyl by a French company caled Sylpheo. What I really want is an Android version of Dictamus for the iPhone/iPod Touch by Jotomi.
Dictamus has all of the features that make it perfect for lawyers, physicians and other executives who need to be able to dictate for someone else to transcribe. Dictamus has the ability easily pause, rewind and insert (destructive and non-destructive insertion). The resulting sound file can be sent via email, uploaded to a Dropbox.com account to an iDisk account, to an ftp server or to any of online transcription services (eg. SpeakWrite) It can send automatic email notifications to someone after an upload has been made. It can record continuously for more than 24 hours.
On a 5 star scale, I'd give Dictamus 6 stars. But it's not available for Android. And what I can find (using search terms "dictate," "dictation" and "recorder") for Android I wouldn't even give one star. Although I use SpeakWrite's transcription service occasionally, their mobile apps (for iPhone, for Android, for Blackberry) are just terrible -- and they make it very difficult to send the recording to anyone but their own service. I prefer to have my secretary transcribe most of my work. Although I like SpeakWrite's service, I only use them when my secretary is not available.

Dec 11, 2009I am looking for solid information about these phones/phone (I believe that these names are the name of a single phone). I am waiting for to see if I should wait for this phone or just buy the Droid.
Another thing, why is HTC waiting to really advertise this phone, when the Droid is getting all the attention?
General :: How To Root Dragon Touch R7 Tablet
Nov 26, 2013I had just sold my ZTE Majesty for a tablet. It's brand new that I got off of Amazon. It was only like 100 dollars or so. But here is my problem... I can't get this to root at all. Every application acts as if it isn't an Android device. I can't connect it to my PC because there isn't a way to view the files from the Tablet to the PC.
I've tried zRoot, Poot, Spaarkyroot, Framaroot, but I couldn't get any of those to work. And like I said, I can't do PC to Tablet connection (or at least I don't know how, there might be a way.)

Apr 5, 2013I baught the apk from the app store and it works fine(no crushes at all) but when it comes to download the patch in the beggining it frozes to 0% although the circle above indicates it is loading,after some min a black screen with sone japaneze letters shows up and i dont know what they mean?

Oct 26, 2009Do any of you have any idea how a 1GHz processor in the Dragon will compare with the type of processor in the Droid? If the Dragon/Passion is as fast or faster than the Droid then I think that's the one I'd get. I absolutely love the Sense UI. However, I kind of like the idea of a keyboard in landscape mode so I get to use the entire screen all the time. What do you all think? Do you have any insight on the overall speed differences between these processors/phones?

May 28, 2010Quick Story: I had a HTC Legend, and i had a number of problems, so after some arse kicking by me, i got the Nexus one for 25 per month
I am not new to android: i have had the G1 which i did not root, the T-Mobile pulse, which i rooted and the HTC Legend and now the Nexus one.
Some questions?
With the legend i am am awhere of the Sence UI ? i liked how facebook contacts synced to my phone and when i rang i saw there display pictures, does the Nexus one do this?
SMS, is there a similar app to the legend, where you see threaded messages with a picture of there facebook dp?
I can't hear the phone when it rings, its so quiet, the volume is on max, is there anyway to increase this?
Nexus 1 (1GHZ) Cpu apps are there any i can play on

May 15, 2010I recently bought a rooted N1 off of ebay. I plugged my SIM in and everything worked fine all day yesterday. I went to sleep on my bed, with the N1 in my pocket, and when I woke up the phone was indicating that there was no SIM card in the phone. I rebooted the phone, and factory reset it, yet it still indicated that there was no SIM inside the phone. I put my SIM card in my wife's iPhone and the phone worked fine.
1) Could sleeping with it in my pocket have done this?
2) Did I just buy a dud off of Ebay? And if so, how is this possible because it worked all day yesterday?

May 23, 2010I received a new N1 after I swapped over by warranty but I don't remember is the camera flash was working on this new one before I put Desire and Cyanogenmod and on both the camera flash doesn't work, installed FlashApp and a couple of other apps that manipulates the flash but it still doesn't turns on.

Jul 6, 2010I have an unlocked N1 which has RA recovery/backup installed?..i think, its been a long time..sorry for new bie is Highness(is that a word)..Anyway..I have reset the device and now am on stock build number ERD79..firmware 2.1. If i do a wipe of the device when I restart i get the over the air update to 2.2. It downloads and verifies but when i restart i go to the boot loader? screen? and I get an install failed message.

Sep 8, 2010one day when I was playing around with clockword mod and selected restart adbd(I thought it meant the adb daemon but I guess it means something else) in the advanced options area.Well I consider my self pretty tech smart and "advanced" for a 13 year old but I guess things happen. Now when I boot my nexus one the actual boot animation(not splash) is not showing for the first 3 quarters of the boot up. Then I thought I bricked my device because the screen wasn't showing the animation for 20 sec. Then I saw the touch-sensitve buttons light up and then 2 seconds later the animation apeared only for 2 seconds untill my device was booted. I tried overwriting the boot animation in both /system/media/ and in /device/local/ ad it had no effect. I dont know what to do. I am rooted using universal androot because I want to be able to unvoid my warrnaty. So my bootloader isn't unlocked. I am running Cyanogen Mod 6 and am loving it so far! But I am wondering what to do? Should I re-flash the rom? I tried pressing restart adbd again and it did nothing? i have not done a Nandroid restore because it will mess up my apps that are on the sdcard if i restore back. I dont know what to do.

May 23, 2010I just got my update for my Nexus today. Unfortunately I made the grave mistake of leaving my Helix 2 app as my main launcher, so I was stuck in an endless loop of force closing. After restoring my phone to factory defaults I was able to set up my gmail account as I did when I first set up the phone.now that I'm going into the market, I'm noticing a LOT of apps that I had before (most of them paid) are not even listed in the app store. I'm also noticing that the Helix apps are not listed either. It would appear that non 2.2 compatible apps are not being listed? I have no idea, but whatever it is, I hope I get my touchdown full version app back soon, otherwise I'll be in a rough spot with work. (not a huge fan of the regular mail).Example, I did a search for the developer "Camel Games" I recently purchased one of these games, however, when I do a search now, I ONLY see all the free version, and no paid versions. If anyone has any insight on this it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone is not seeing the same thing as me, that would be helpful too. If I need to reset my phone again or something, let me know! I miss my apps

Mar 29, 2010I was trying to root my nexus one. I was able to complete unlocking the bootloader but when i used superboot to root it, i won't get pass the step where you verify to make sure superboot recognizes your device. Every time i enter fasboot-windows devices command, it just won't recognize it. I don't know what else to do.
