Im having alot of trouble getting the voice mail envelope to go away. Ive had the phone for 2 weeks now and changed my voice mail to google voice. However the Tmobile voice mail icon wont go away. Ive triple checked to make sure i dont have any messages. Anyone else encounter this issue ? Any suggestions ? I have tried using the task killer.

Trying to figure this out switched to Google voice after clearing out my voice mail for T-Mobile. It says that there are no messages but the icon wont go away. I've tried clearing from the task bar but it gets rid of everything except the voicemail icon any tips?

Then, after starting activity C, activity B kill himself by finish(). Now the task stack stored two activities: A and C. View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to link the "OK Google" phrase that starts a Google Now search on the Nexus 5 to Tasker, or more specifically the AutoVoice plugin for Tasker.
I can attach the swipe up from the bottom to use AutoVoice rather than Google Now , but I cannot figure out how to make the phrase "OK Google" use AutoVoice.
I read that on the Moto X you can use Tasker to watch for the "Touchless Control" App to become active, and then kill it and start AutoVoice. But the Nexus 5 doesn't have the Touchless Control App, In fact I don't know what process or App is actually listening for the "OK Google" phrase on the Nexus 5.
My friend got a hold of my Nexus one and thought it would be funny to search up "gay porn" on the search widget. I tried clearing out the cache with cachemate but that didn't help.
My nexus is rooted. Does anyone know how to clear the search cache?
I noticed on a lot of the other threads: "If you hold down 'home' you can see your running apps, so you don't need a task killer, just to exit the apps properly" However, on my Nexus I hold down 'home' and it just shows me the last 6 apps I've used. Is there a different way of doing this for the Nexus. or am I stuck with having to get a Task Killer/Manager?

Oddly, other downloaded wallpapers do not have this problem.Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix for it?

How do I organize my icons? How do I move them? I've got icons all over the place is seemingly random locations, with no apparent way to move them.
I'm using PA on a Nexus 4. What is the hex code for the notification icons on the left? I want to use PA colors to change the status icon color so it is the same, but cannot find the exact hex code on the Android design guidelines page. When using the <4.3 launcher 80FFFFFF seemed to work but now I'm using the 4.4 launcher it doesn't look right (as shown by image).

These are my personal mods that I made and use for myself but am now sharing with you all. I havent tried/looked into making a "flashable update zip" so for now this comes as a package of APK files that you will push to your phone via ADB. What exactly does HTC Sense Clear Data actually clear? That may be a solution to reverting back to 5 homescreen pages instead of 7 without having to do a factory reset. Just curious as to what I am going to mess up? Will i just have to personalize the homescreen again, put widgets up, reconnect to fb, twitter, myfaves, etc. It's not going remove any 3rd party apps, just make me create new widgets, etc..?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using Task Panel X and Advanced Task manager to kill unneeded tasks and keep memory at a maximum.
Recently, every time I open Task Panel X and then revert back to Home screen I get the HTC logo and then a loading screen while the device sets itself. This happens even if I kill NO tasks.
So my solution was to uninstall Task Panel X and then use just Advanced Task Manager. All the sudden, same result.
Everytime I open either of these apps and then go back to home screen I get a BLACK SCREEN WITH HTC LOGO, THEN A BRIEF (10 SECONDS) LOADING SCREEN. THEN ALL IS NORMAL.
I'm writing an android program for adding task and deleting task in listview. I've add an onClickListener to the delete button so it can delete the task. However I was told I should not have the listener in the adapter violating mvc. how I can remove a task in my TaskListItem class. I got the method removeTask() in the adapter, but don't how I can use it in the TaskListItem class.

I know this was talked about before at different times but I still have 3 questions.
1. what is the difference between a task killer and a task manager?
2. should we be using one of these apps or not?
3. when you look at the awake time if it is like 70% or 80% and you aren't using the phone a bunch I take it that means something is running,how can you find what is running.and is the awake time that big of deal?
Looking for a guide on how to use task killer. I had task killer on and deleted it. I think I was killing tasks that were needed to keep certain functions running that I use frequently. If someone would take the time to help me understand how to use one, I think I would be much more successful with it.
example - text messaging just stopped ( werrent receiving them ) . Once I took task killer off, everything started working again.
Is there an app for choosing which apps you want to use that are already open or whatever. Or is there a button you can press to bring up a task list like you do with you blackberry when u hold the blackberry key and the list of open apps comes out.

Because I get to edit files, but I am looking for a long time without finding how to put ALL the icons on the left, and keep only the icons on the right as in the picture.
I notice that the home screen is customizable but not the four applications on the bottom, the call, email, browser and applications. How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I do not have wireless and am just a bit paranoid about going over my data limit. I got the phone from work and this is my first smartphone so I am a bit nervous about anything I do on it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyway, I just wanted for everyone to post their favorite Task Manager/Killer, and why, and if there are any flaws. I personally use Advanced Task Killer Free. It has a simple UI, and the when you select or unselect apps it remebers it so next time you launch the app you can only remove the apps that you usually do, and keep ones that always run. It doesn't slow down or break the system.
