com.google.android.voicesearch has stopped - voice search Loving' the phone, but suddenly getting this MSG. Apologies if already addressed. Anyone know how to get voice search to work again? It still works in phone contacts.

ok so picked up my HTC Legend and I'm happy thus far. However a few things are confusing me...
I installed a couple of live wallpapers. however I cannot for the life of me get them running on the phone. It wont let me open them or anything, so not sure If i need some sort of tool or app to run these.
Secondly... any ideas where i can get the voicesearch.apk? desperate to get uber keyboard working.
I am getting no ringer notifications when new emails come in. The new emails are not showing up in the top bar either, nor is the pulse notification light coming on or is the phone vibrating . And yes, all these utilities are turned on and have been triple checked.

I have always received email notification before. I have notification allowed in gmail, email, and k9, and still no notification: I have to go into the application and do a manual refresh. I use a "@googlemail.com ". account on orange UK.

I unchecked the "sync" icon on the settings widget, and it seems to be working OK now, but this hasn't ever happened on any of my other Android devices.
I'm running GEL on my Nexus 4 and it has been running fine until today. Today the voice control on the launcher stopped working. The microphone is not filled in meaning voice control is not working. Why did this happen?

I noticed I had about 25 duplicate entries for every Google contact and anniversary, synching from my Google Calendar. I unsubscribed from "Contacts & Birthdays and Anniversaries" on my desktop and then did a sync, and as expected it deleted all the birthdays and anniversaries on my HTC Incredible. I then subscribed again to the Google Contacts "Birthdays & Anniversaries" calendar....made sure they were being displayed in the Google Calendar, and then synced the phone again. Nothing. Synced it several times and everything works...even a new test event, but the Birthdays & Anniversaries are not showing up. Any ideas?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to know when the user is panning the map so I can check if they've panned outside of the initial radius that I fetch data from the API with when the app launches. If the user pans outside this radius, when they stop panning I will get the new center point of the map and fetch new data with that geo-point. So far I can't find anything in the Google Maps API docs [and I've inspected the entire class tree] that notifies developers when any animation actions are occurring or completed.. It seems weird that Google wouldn't give us some sort of event listener or protected method to override on the MapView or something to do this.
I looked into what methods were available to override on the View class and it does have onAnimationEnd() but I guess panning or zooming the map doesn't count as an animation or is never passed up from the MapView or something... I tried running a simple log in onAnimationEnd() and it is never being called. Searching the interwebs gave me nothing but some never-successfully-answered posts.
Ii have created a marker demowhich the marker on the map for which I have used pushpin.gif image. I have added the pushpin.gif in the drawable folders which is inside the resource folder. When I run it on the emulator the force close errror appears. I have also made sure that I add <uses-library android:name="com.google.android.maps"/> as a child of application which was given as an earlier solution by a friend on the discussion group. Still the error persists. I guess the code is fine.

Recently discovered that IE handles development with google maps so since then I have been using it and phone gap to develop an app. For some reason the maps have stopped working when I run it on my tablet.

The problem appears to be synchronization with Outlook via a 3rd party application called Sync2.
When the Problem Appears: Whenver an annually repeating event (Birthday, Anniversary) is created in Outlook, then sync'd.
Whenever an annually repeating event created in the Google Calendar or Android Phone calendar is MODIFIED by Outlook, then re-sync'd.
Additional Information:
I tried this several times, and if all edits are made on the phone or in Google Calendar, everything works fine. If ANYTHING is changed in Outlook though, the problem recurrs.
I do not know if this happens with other Third-Party sync software.
-To test your system, I recommend the following method:Open your Calendar in Outlook
-Create a folder on your Desktop to temporarily store your Annual Calendar items during testing
-In Outlook, view your Calendar as a LIST. (In 2010, click the View tab, then in the Current View section, select -Change View, and select LIST from the available items. 2003 had similar functionality, but I don't remember the steps to get there.)
-Scroll down the list to the section that says "Recurrance: Yearly". Select all items in there and drag them to the folder on your desktop which you just created. This will COPY the items so they can be recovered later if you want.
-Delete the items you just copied from Outlook.
-Re-sync your Outlook calendar, then wait a couple minutes and re-sync your phone.
-If the error doesn't appear, you know you've isolated the problem!
-If you need to recover your events, you can drag them out of the folder you created (they will appear as .MSG files) and drop them back on your Outlook calendar list.
Recently within the past couple weeks my google search suggestions stopped appearing on my HTC hero. After I press the search key on the phone I start typing into the search box an no green boxes with search suggestions appear. I don't know what happened and I am kinda disappointed about it. I have reset my phone numerous times and still no luck. Also when I am typing texts and emails it does give me word suggesting like for spelling etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed the ContactSync app on my Hero, and all my contacts are easily been transformed into google contacts. But when I try to sync contacts with Google, it thinks a bit and then comes with an error message:
"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
When I go into my gmail contacts, there are only 57 contacts out of the 173 I have the phone, plus some of them in my gmail has duplicates.
Had done a backup of my contacts using Secure Wave. Made as a CSV file via Secure Wave, which I could then import in my gmail. Fine, so now I had about 240 contacts in my gmail (Around 80 more than I had on my phone?)
That caused a bit of a problem since they apparently don't work in the same way.
So now I hava about 50 numbers that are now called "Mobile" when they on the phone was called "name Mobile" and a lot of unknown numbers labeled on the cell phone as they only had one name on the phone.
But i guess all this can be solved with a lot of editing on the computer. But then when I go into "view" menu under contacts it says I have 352 google contacts (should be about 173) and none phone contacts (Which is fine since they all got converted into google contacts) :S, plus when I'm inside contacts and look, I get the following error message every time my phone tries to sync with google:
"The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. And then I can just press "Force close" after which I will return to my Home screen.

For months I have had GV set to intercept my voicemail, and it has been wonderful. It gives me transcripts in my email, and offers me a junkmail option for all of the collection calls I get for the pillhead who had the number before me. However, it has stopped working. I checked google voice, and everything is the same... its just not catching the calls anylonger.
I do not use GV as my primary number, but use the feature on the web site for it to catch my vz voicemail. I have searched, but the results are too varied to turn up an identical problem.
I have a T-mobile prism II (yes I know, not the best phone in the world) and I have the most recent version of the Google search app and I have downloaded the Google launcher, but every time I attempt to use the Google experience launcher, I get an error message saying "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped."

Which I thought meant I can go in and customize the Google play store and delete the bloatware that come with the phone, but I found out that It was something totally different. So I went to uninstall it from the app drawer and It deleted the whole Google play store. I downloaded and apk file from some website which fixed it. but after rebooting I got this error. I then went to titanium backup and wiped the data. It fixed the crashes but now I for some reason am running the modded Google play app again. I deleted Google play services and google play app. rebooted my phone. It removed the modded Google play store and fixed everything, but whenever I try downloading an app It breaks everything.
I'm running Jelly bean 4.2.2 on stock android. HTC one.
For some reason Play store and Youtube app cant access the net. Says problems with network, but there are none.I have 2 more android devices and 2 pcs running off the same network and all work just fine.
Also, may be related, browser started dropping error popup saying something about certificates. Can continue but most pages drop this multiple time
I have a Telus HTC Hero and for a few weeks now my GPS simply stopped working with google-maps. It keeps saying "can't find location". If I use Gps Status app, it shows a compass and shows how fast I'm moving in what ever direction, but for some reason google maps can't seem to lock on. I've tried hard and soft resets, turning triangulation on off, GPS on off.

In the Google play app it will show the amount of achievements next to each game, ie 2/14, but clicking on my achievements shows a blank page. Here are all the google related apps I currently have installed.
I recently upgraded my phone xperia mini pro SK17i 's software from GB to ICS 4.0.4 and rooted my phone. After rooting i installed Titanium backup and remove a few what i thought were unnecessary apps from my phone . I think i also deleted the google.download.manager.apk i'm not sure but i cannot see this service in my "ALL APPS" (APP Manager) Its not at the bottom or disabled its just not there.
Since then i keep getting gapps stopped working and Google play stopped working .
i have tried
1. Rebooting (multiple times)
2. Clearing cache/clearing data for Play
3. un-installing /Re Install play
4. Download goomanager and downloading latest gapps packed and flashed the zip
5. Delete gmail account and restart and add account again.
Also i don't think there is prob in Google sync...
and checked out all the sites and forums for solution ... i still haven't gotten any solution to this.

I have downloaded a new download manager for now. But was wondering if i can get back Google download manager without have to to do a factory reset.
I have a new Google Voice account, and I went through all the steps to set it up on my phone, and it seemed that everything went swimmingly. I then picked up my house phone, and called my cell to test everything out, and I just got a busy signal after it stopped ringing. I had a few other people test calling me, and played around with the settings a bit, but I couldn't make it work. Any ideas?
