I am in NYC and get great connection speeds, often over 3000kbs.Then out of no where it drops to 600k, while my other phone, a mytouch still gets over 3000 right next to the N1.If i turn on airplane mode and then off, i start getting over 3000 again.

At about 5-10 seconds into a call (either outgoing or incoming), my transmissions are muffled for about 10 seconds. Thereafter, I have occasional intermittent similar problems. I can always hear the other party perfectly; they just can't hear me. It happens with either the built-in mic or the corded headset or bluetooth.

I haven't done a speed test yet but it is noticeably slower than when I used to tether my Sprint BB Tour. BTW, it shows 3G and all four bars of reception. Anyone have any tips or tricks to increase the speed?

Can the SD card be used and utilized to speed up the android system like READYBOOST works on windows with external memory sources which utilizes a flash drive or SD card to be used like internal memory? 2.I'm having issues with apps & system programs running in the background. I know i refer to windows. but is there a way to kill startup apps like it's possible with MSConfig in windows without using a Startup Cleaner which force closes everything at boot and more times than not it freezes my androind seemingly forever?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI really dont think so at all. I looked at some vids in you and that nexus is FAST!! I have my droid clocked at 550 firm all the time (its rooted) and it does not come close to how the nexus moves around and opens things up.I also know that one cannot compare speeds by simply opening things up. If that were true my wifes cliq is faster many times opening things up. But when you do things that need a strong proccesor theres where you will see the difference. For example, before I rooted the droid i could NOT stream tv shows (jetflicks) using wifi and a bluetooth stereo headset. the show would pause every 2-3 minutes, very annoying, and the voice would be of sync as well.
When I rooted the phone and installed an app that keeps the droid at 550 it worked PERFECTLY. No problems with sync or the show stopping every few minutes. SO, Im thinking that there cannot be no way in android world that the droid can perform at the same speed of the nexus when using apps that NEED a good fast proccesor.
I'm just not getting it. How do add files/folders to the android Dropbox? I've copied files and folders into the /sdcard/dropbox folder but they don't show up in the Dropbox app nor are they synched to my PC Dropbox. I don't see a way to paste into the app. In the Dropbox app I see "Upload" then "Add any file" but the only options are to add a photo, music or voice recorder file. I was hoping to use it to back up some ebooks and data files to my desktop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am the proud owner of a Hero, and like it! The only issue I have is that I use a website to book golf on-line. There's an icon which gives a list of all the courses. On a standard PC there's a bar on the right side of the list which you slide up or down to acess about 50 courses. On the Hero I can open the list, but it only shows the first 6 courses, and not the bar. For the life of me I have tried everything and I can't find a way to access the "hidden"courses. Does this problem ring a bell with anyone?

View 21 Replies View RelatedI rooted this week, and my first two roms were alyousis (probably wrong spelling) and Evil Eris, both of which had wired tether built into the OS, and it would appear as an option in the usb selection screen. I was having problems with EE, so I went to the the rooted stock version of 2.1, which is very stable and is running well. I'm having problems with the wired tether in my current rom (I can't remember the dev who makes the stock ROM, I think it's ECLIPS3), but this ROM also doesn't have the dropdown tether option. In EE, tether worked pefectly with my mac and once I installed the drivers it worked perfectly on my XP thinkpad. In the stock ROM, it's the complete opposite. My mac doesn't recognize the eris as a new NIC and nor does XP or 7. Is there a better, more compatible version of wired tether for my ROM, and is there a way to get the same drop-down options that was in EE? Also, is there a fix for the 50% bug present in the eris official ROM?

Complete discharge in approx 4 hours The temperature is very hot too. I have seen posts on using handbreak to convert to the correct file size and such but i was trying to just drag and drop avi files to the evo but they dont seem to be showing up once i disconnect from the pc. Is there a way to just drag and drop movies onto the evo or do i have to convert each one i want to put on the phone?
I am converting a avi right now through handbreak but it is taking forever! With my moment i could drag and drop i figured with this phone i could do the same but i guess not
Before i have to take the train to work i like to just throw a movie on the phone and watch it but it doesnt seem like ill be able to do this with the evo cause ill have to convert them all and that will take too long....

I just rooted my moto droid. Now I am wondering if it is possible to drop 1.5 or other versions of the OS on the phone and if so how? If anyone could explain how I do this or link some forums that explain this. Or is there maybe a dual boot option b/c I don't want to always us 1.5 only for testing purposes.
