I see ChevyNo1 has some Froyo Kernels for overclocking. Which ones should I download, I am not sure of the differences between low voltage and ultra low voltage.
Also are these the best Kernels for overclocking, or are there better ones?

Ok so i have root finally but i have a bunch of problems it seems and i really need some help.
1st:
I have smoked glass 4.0 installed and it seems to be super buggy and forces close on me many times in the day. I want to installl 4.5 but it wasnt working for me last night.
My question is should i reboot from my stock nandroid backup.
-Delete the old file.
-install the new smoked glass?
-is it less buggy?
-i love the 2.1 one look is there another ROM that has that?
2nd:
-Im overclocked and my setcpu say 950 but it seems to be running pretty slow and the temp isnt hot which makes me belive it may not be running at that?
-Does it have to do with the theme?
-How can i tell if im truly overclocked?
So long story short...and a lot of work later.
I rolled back to 2.01 sbf and got the update to 2.2 and it failed. I rolled back to ESE81 (2.1) sbf and got the update...and it failed. I ended up getting FRG22 off another forum and i am updated.
Now I want to find a FROYO SBF file so I can wipe and get a clean install of Froyo.
Do you think one will make it's way into the wild?
All files needed are available on my web site: Android - whiterabbit.org unless you still need to root your phone or downgrade to 2.0.1, the files needed for that will be linked to from those guides. The purpose of installing this way is to use the original OTA updates from Google, and only modify them enough to have root access. When you are done, you will have a system that is capable of installing the next OTA (gingerbread) when it arrives. Hopefully we will be able to patch it in the same way to keep root. This is only for people who don't want to run custom roms, but still want to have root.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThat goes without saying but it appears that it flashes the bootloader so I would hold off on doing it if you like root.It could mean that we cant flash sbfs anymore, it could mean that we get a locked down bootloader and it could mean nothing,I am getting this from looking in the file and could be completely wrong though.
View 32 Replies View RelatedHad the dX for about a month now, still running the stock 2.1 OS and have not upgraded to froyo yet, i played with a friends phone with 2.2 OTA but he has had some issues with the phone since OTA and i am concerned about upgrading with the whole bootloader deal and not being able to do what i want with the phone. currently with the dX i have it rooted with universal androot with recovery and thats about it.
I am new to the dX and i have been reading alot, but i have a few questions because there doesnt seem to be a clear answer anyhwere on what the best route to go is. i am coming from a rooted custom rom'd and OC'd eris so i am familiar with the processes and how to modify android.
Here is what i am looking to do
Froyo
root
overclock
recovery
custom rom/theme
remove bloatware
deodex
From what i have read i have 2 options, 2.2 leak and OTA
Is there is a leaked 2.3.15 and is that the best option over the OTA ?
What does the OTA offer that the leak doesnt and vice versa
I guess once i figure out what version of 2.2 to go with i can take the rest from there. i have been looking at the team black hat app is this a good idea ?

Also, after coming from sense i hate the moto dialer, personally think its terrible no easy way to just call someone wiht out dialing a million things, is there options for a custom dialer like the sense dialer ?

So I rooted the phone and installed recovery on it and installed the froyo JIT thingie and it seems to have sped up a little. I want to overclock to 614mhz, sweet spot, so I installed the setcpu, but it only goes up to 528mhz, and I've tried searching, and I can't seem to find an answer. I have 2 overclocking utilities. (Setcpu, and overclock widget) I understand that I have to update or flash the Kernel. The adb commands were successfull. WHen I rebooted my droid it was bricked (well not really cause I did a Nandroid backup right before I did this) It was just frozen with the white Motorola logo. Perhaps I downloaded a bad 800 mhz evilboot8.img.
I am Using the DX/D2 overclock app and have it set to do stock with low voltage and I have to same my battery life has been way better, the only concern I have is if I am doing any damage to my phone or battery with those settings.

Whenever I check it, the widget shows the phone is at 550, unless I manually move the slider to 1200. Does this mean my phone's not really running at 1.2, or am I misunderstanding how the overclock process works? Also, is there a way to do some sort of speed test? My phone only seems to go up to 1100 GHZ, after that it just reboots only lasts about 3 seconds after the overclock and BAM reboot.
