View 5 RepliesWe already know that the Droid X and the Droid 2 can be overclocked, but did you know that it could be overclocked... to 2 GHz? Matt4542 and Joe - members of Team DeFuse (get it? eFuse? I have not really found any threads in these forums deticated just to overclocking the Droid. I am running BB v.9 and would like to overclock past 600 mhz. I have 2 overclocking utilities. (Setcpu, and overclock widget) I understand that I have to update or flash the Kernel. I tried doing this OverClocking Motorola Droid To 1.3 GHz In 7 Easy Steps | areacellphone.com
The adb commands were successfull. WHen I rebooted my droid it was bricked (well not really cause I did a Nandroid backup right before I did this) It was just frozen with the white Motorola logo. Perhaps I downloaded a bad 800 mhz evilboot8.img.
I am Using the DX/D2 overclock app and have it set to do stock with low voltage and I have to same my battery life has been way better, the only concern I have is if I am doing any damage to my phone or battery with those settings.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just overclocked to 1.2 on cynagoen 5.062, I have overclock widget installed on my phone. Whenever I check it, the widget shows the phone is at 550, unless I manually move the slider to 1200. Does this mean my phone's not really running at 1.2, or am I misunderstanding how the overclock process works? Also, is there a way to do some sort of speed test? (I don't have set cpu and I can't buy apps at the moment) I do know when i move my slider to 1200 the web seems a lot faster, but whether thats real or placebo is beyond me.

View 15 Replies View RelatedSo are all Droid X able to overclock to 1450 GHZ or at least 1250 GHZ? My phone only seems to go up to 1100 GHZ, after that it just reboots only lasts about 3 seconds after the overclock and BAM reboot. So is my phone just not capable of it or am i doing something wrong? Im running FISSION v1.2 if that matters, i got the build props from the rom manager app.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running stock 2.1. I do not want to downgrade and root. But, i would like to overclock. People say this is possible and to just find the app on the market. All the overclock apps i have found show that it MUST be root. Can anyone provide a link to an app that will do this? Or even the title of an app that can do this WITHOUT root?

So i tried the next step on my agenda, which was to find an overclock kernel for Froyo 2.2. Ive tried a handful of ChevyNo1 kernels, and a couple from jdlfg and none of them seem to take. The speed scale in SetCPU remains at a max of 600mHz, while Overclock widget shows me a possible max of 900mHz. Even if i try to set the max at 900mHz in Overclock widget, the widget never actually reads that high and SetCPU never reflects that speed either.
I can confirm that I have root, and both SetCPU and Overclock Widget are being given superuser permissions.
I see ChevyNo1 has some Froyo Kernels for overclocking. Which ones should I download, I am not sure of the differences between low voltage and ultra low voltage.
Also are these the best Kernels for overclocking, or are there better ones?
Warning, this process may cause our phone to become unstable if you clock it at the wrong speed. I advise that you do not continue onto steps 2 and 3 until you find the settings that work for YOUR phone best.
All credit goes to Fab for his how-to post, Elkay for the original mod of the milestone overclock and to Hilbe for his install-recovery.sh and setscaling.sh files as well as figuring out where to add on these commands. And also Airmaxx23 for helping me refine the commands. As well as FreeWELL for his Root Explorer guide and his stop overclocking commands

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering how they actually reach their max speed? If you have a kernal that has 250, 600, 800, 1000, 1200. Does it start at 250 then go 600, 800, 1000, then finally hit 1200? Or does it jump to the necessary speed that your using (like start at 250 then it could go to 1000 then 1200)? Because if it has to go through each speed to get to its max, then a kernal with 5 different ones would be much better than 10 wouldn't it? I've never seen this question asked before, so does anyone know how they actually get up to their max?
Just so everyone knows I'm rooted and running overclock of 1200.. I have it set up. Just want to know how it works.
Milestone Overclock as of version 1.4.3 now officially supports Droid X/2 running 2.2/Froyo. Go download it for FREE from the Market.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of trouble with overclocking. I'm running Fission 2.1, no theme at the moment. I tried using the built-in overclocking zip files but they made my phone extremely slow and very unstable. After that I downloaded Jrummy's Overclocking app. I can only get up to 1.15Ghz on all four voltage settings before my phone craps out on me. I've tried going higher on different voltage settings but to no avail. What am I doing wrong?
