View 7 RepliesI'm having trouble with my microphones and was wondering if anyone else had the same issues? Pretty much no one can hear me if I call them, If I set it to speaker they can hear me fine (via top mic) but when I try to talk normally, still the same muted mic. I cant find any settings for this and I have tried rebooting the device. Anyone know what may be causing this or maybe I got a defective X?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with almost all my outgoing calls. It's taken me up to 4 calls to one person just to finish a short conversation. It usually starts with the person not being able to hear me and then there's a beep and the call is gone. I talked with a Verizon tech last night and she said my longest call (to her) lasted 53 seconds before she couldn't hear me anymore.
This morning I called my mom to test the hair theory (can't have hair between the phone and your face). We were able to talk for 3 mins and 17 secs before I lost the call. The only things different were the beep sounded and we were still able to talk, so evidently the beeping doesn't signal that I'm about to lose the call (I think we talked for a minute more before losing the call) and I don't think there was ever a point where she couldn't hear me -- the call just dropped.
Some of the past posting I've read have indicated that people have gone through multiple Droids (I think one person posted he was on his 4th) and was still having problems.
Verizon is sending me another Droid, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope because of all the postings I've read about this problem. I'm looking for some positive remarks about phone calls -- anyone have some and care to share?
Oh and Verizon rep also said the new Droid they are sending me is the final one. If I have problems with it I either have to put up with it or pay full price for a different phone -- does that sound right?
I cant figure out why my camera button is tiggering the volume and not the camera. Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. Can anyone help me out?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

For some reason I am not longer able to reply on that topic, so I will start a new post with my further input. I noticed that in the newer Android versions the system will now automatically mute audio streams while some types of audio notifications are playing. This is a nice solution for many types of audio. For music players this works well. My audio application is an audiobook player. The reason that I had posted the original topic about the ability to get a notification when other audio needs to play, is because for an audiobook, muting the audio isn't a very good solution. People miss part of the dialog of the audiobook while it is muted.
I now have customers writing to me and complaining that it skips part of their audiobook when other notifications play. It appears to be skipping to the listener because the audiobook continues to play but is muted while the other audio notification plays. Is there a way for my application to get a notification when its audio stream gets muted and unmuted?...............
I have a weird issue with my Desire and my Ford Mondeo Bluetooth audio system. The Phone bonds with the car audio system no problem, receives calls etc., exactly as expected - and after a recent (unexpected), update to my cars radio firmware I can use the bluetooth audio feature which controls my media player in the handset from the steering wheel controls! No problems, Except! Even when I'm not using the bluetooth audio feature - i.e. listening to the cars radio or ipod etc., the audio from the desire still gets routed to the car audio system, effectively muting the phone. So when I use the navigation within the phone I get no audible routing directions, even if I switch the cars radio to play the bluetooth audio I still can't really hear the navigation because the inbuilt htc audio player refuses to stop playing (the car keeps unpausing the device). It would be nice to disable the bluetooth audio and leave only the phone connection but can't seem to figure out if that's even possible.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded my Note 3 to KitKat and all seems to be ok except I have lost the system sounds.
I go to settings> Device> Sound> Volume and the system sound volume is set to mute or at the left hand end of the volume bar with no way to increase it.
I was listening to music through my car jack cord and when I unplugged the cord its like the phone got stuck in that mode and now I cant hear nothing unless I plug in a headphone jack or something.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I put my S3 in silent mode, the ringer is muted but the notification alerts are not. I have to manually mute the notifications alerts (and then manually turn them back on). This happened after I downloaded a ringer mode widget that I almost immediately uninstalled. how to reset the ringer mode so that Silent includes notification alerts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe alarm goes off and media volume is still separate. Any way to string these all together so they are all muted when in "silent" mode? App solutions are fine with me.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI installed Fring on my Galaxy and it did some strange tricks , now my phone is in a state in wich it is completely muted ( no sounds, cannot call and cannot hear) and have to use a headset to use it.
I'm sure it is Fring, because as soon I make a fring call test it works again and I can make and receive calls without headset ( no alerts nor loudspeaker though)
I will have to reset it to factory settings, but I have a series of doubts:
- Contacts: I have contacts from my sim card, some I added and some that come from Facebook/Gmail, now, I checked on the contacts and everything is there, which, I suppose, means that first time I rtestart a sync they'll be back, right?
- Internal data: Photos and MP3 are safe in the SD card, what else do I have to backup?
- Market apps: The market profile will allow me to redownload the apps that I had on the phone or is the profile locally stored? if so, were so that I can Backup it?
- A special issue: here in Belgium we do not have the paying market yet so we can only download the free apps. When i was in Italy I used an italian SIM card and bought a couple of apps.
I suppose there is no way i an get them back is there?
My camera is stuck in the Negative Mode setting. I can't swipe from the left to pull out the camera options and the menu softkey doesn't bring up anything either.
I didn't notice this till about after a week or so using LFYv1.71. However, it seems that I am the only one using that ROM that's experienced this prob. Truth is, it could have been like that a while. I have a great 15mp camera, so I rarely need to use the mediocre-at-best 5mp camera on the Droid. But when I wanted to take a pic without the good one at my disposal, I found my prob.
While I'm searching for a fix to this it made me wonder, "Are there replacement camera apps, much like there are for the browser and messaging apps?" Well, of course there are. Many, in fact. Most seem to be paid apps, but if it's a truly better option, just might be worth it.
So what camera apps are you guys using, or could you recommend one?
So the default camera resolution is 6 MP and it says "widscreen." I know that 8 MP is "large screen" but what takes higher quality photos? I've heard lower MP doesn't always mean worse photos.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I take pictures on the droid I like to slide out the keyboard to see the screen better. I use the center button on the d-pad to snap the picture, but was wondering if there was way to use the up and down keys on the d-pad zoom in and out?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid X since launch and been lurking here for awhile, I haven't had any real issues until now though...
Yesterday, my droid x started randomly opening the camera application without anyone or anything even touching the phone. It's maddeningly frustrating. It wakes the phone up when the screen is off, which kills the battery faster, it randomly pops up when I'm web browsing or writing a text. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, was there a fix other than taking the phone back to verizon? I haven't gotten the phone wet or dropped it or anything.
[Droid X 2.2 No Root] For some reason sometimes when I'm using the camera or when I try to launch the camera, It fails. For example, I try to open a black screen flashes or the camera opens for a moment and closes. Sometimes it works, others it refuses to even after all running apps are closed, the phone restarted, and after a battery pull. This is not a shutter stick problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was really excited to be one of the 25 lucky ones to get a droid x today, but my camera doesn't seem to be working. At first it worked fine, just seemed a bit laggy, then allof a sudden the phone would restart wheni would open the camera app. Now the camera app just shows a blackscreen. I have reset the phone and restarted several times with no change.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering what the best alternate camera app is for the droid? I think pretty much anything is better tham the default one. I have camer zoom 5x, but I am starting to get annoyed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe camera in the Droid is said to be a 5 mega pixel camera. I have a 5mp Kodak point and shoot camera that takes really nice pictures that sometimes I can fool people into thinking I used a DSLR camera. Now the camera on the Droid which is said to be 5mp looks like crap in my opinion. I've taken pics in the daylight and at night and it looks grainy either way. I have played around with the white balance but mainly keep it on Auto. I own a Nikon D90 so I will use that to take any pics of importance.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make it so that when I push the camera (red) button on my phone, it launches Vignette rather than the stock camera. Does anyone know how to do this. I tried going to the "manage applications" and clear defaults on the camera, but the camera is not an application that shows up. I even reinstalled Vignette, hoping that it would prompt me to pick the default app, but no joy.Anyone know how to change the default camera, or else remap the camera button?

View 19 Replies View RelatedWhen I started playing with my new Droid (4409) I saw that it had the same auto-focus issues that everyone else complained about.Setting the unit to action made it focus at infinity, so somewhat better but I couldn't get shopsavy to recognize any barcodes.I cleaned the lens even though it didn't seem dirty and now Shopsavy locks onto bar codes and the unit seems to Auto-focus with just about 100% lock (green corners).Could some of the problems people are having just be be caused by lens placement and skin oils?
