I am trying to flash back to the OTA 2.3.15 and I keep constantly getting bootloops when it reboots. How do I get it to stop? I am going to be leaving in a few to head home and would like to get this back to stock before I leave

I found a font on my desktop, I'm trying to get this on my droid and getting hung up.
Its a .ttf file on my desktop, I copied it and renamed both copies to DroidSans & DroidSans-Bold put them on my sd card and put in the system/fonts folder using root explorer. Reboot and it bootloops or gets stuck on the M.
Installed flash 10.1 today and since then...won't boot up at times, screen orientation won't switch, lock-ups, pages hang, multiple reboots etc. How do I uninstall this? I've looked on the phone and tried to research online without any luck so I have turned to to the real experts. Help!

The screen lag is kind of driving me nuts in 2.2 and I'm thinking about going back to 2.1 for a while to see if i miss the updates in 2.2 enough to live with the homescreen lag.
I've installed LauncherPro and the screen redraws are better, but still happen enough to annoy me.
I'm not sure if i use flash too much, but i know i need 2.2 for it. But what about the updates to gmail, youtube, etc? Do those show in the market if I'm on 2.1?
Also, I didn't root until 2.2 so I don't have a backup of my 2.1. Is there a simpler way to flash back to 2.1 without using RSD? The link I found to an image for 2.1 to flash no longer works.
I, like a boss, jumped right on the 2.2 leak and updated my phone right off the bat. Lost root, came to the forums, realized that copying a single file could have saved me, cried a bit inside my heart, and finally started the process to flash back to "stock" so that I can re-root, and update the right way without losing root again.
So I downloaded the .sbf file. Downloaded RSDLite 4.6 and attempted to flash. Error: can't access the INI file... sigh
Downloaded RSDLite 4.7 and attempted to flash. Error: Your phone isn't compatible with multi-blah blah blah...
Googled here and there and searched our happy old forums. No luck. Just stupid people giving stupid advice like "try a different USB port". Did I mention I hate people who just reply to a thread with a lame ass "suggestion" even though they clearly have no clue what they're doing?
So I need to know if there is another way to flash back to 2.1 or 2.0.1 (whichever the case may be) so that I can do this upgrade the right way without losing root?
Also, would one of the mods/admins please go back and edit the original "HOW-TO upgrade to 2.2" thread in the basic Droid-X forum and put a huge bold disclaimer for those of us who have our phones rooted to GO TO THE THREAD IN THE "ALL THINGS ROOT" FORUM AND READ THAT FIRST....
Could have saved all my troubles if this information was stated in the first place. I know this is sounding like I'm complaining. Which I guess I am. And I know it's my fault for not reading more before I went ahead and jumped in to the update. But seriously, one little line of text could have saved so many of us so much trouble.
Like all I manually update to 2.2 (non-root) . Now I find a post that I can root easily but need to be 2.1. so how can I revert back to 2.1

The flash process seemed to go smoothly until the phone booted up. RSDLite had said to manually start the phone, but it had already booted on its own.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI finaly decided to root via easy root and everything worked just fine, I used clockwork recovery to create an image on my sd card. then I kept getting the message every few minutes for the froyo update.
after doing some reading most people thought that it was ok to let it try and update in order to get rid of the annoying update available message. it was thought that clockwork would block the update on the reboot.
not so, 2.2 did sucessfully install and of course I lost root.
I tried to "re root" using easy root but it will not accept my code, and I see on therir webpage that 2.2d is not supported yet
I need to know how to flash back to the image I have on my sd card as I can't take the slow, buggy 2.2d any longer.
I still have not received the ota 2.2 update for my motorola droid. I used to have my droid rooted to droidmod I think, I started having some problems (this was months ago so I'm sure everything was fixed) and I unrooted and went back to stock 2.0.1 and then used the ota to update to 2.1. So I am waiting on froyo and I was just wondering if I update and don't like it will I be able to flash back to 2.0.1.

But only thing on the screen is Bootloader 30.1 in the top left. Code corrupt down the left a few lines below that, then below that it just flashes battery low cannot program. I try to power+camera+volume down and nothing i also try to home+power and nothing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAnyone else getting random reboots while playing youtube/flash? at first i thought it was the youtube app but then it happened in the mobile youtube site, then again through another non-youtube embedded flash video played in a website. it just reboots the phone instantly.
there's no way to replicate this as of yet. sometimes i can play a whole video fine but i would say 5-10% of the time it'll reboot randomly. it doesn't happen when playing a video file with Gallery or Rock Player though.
This is with 3.4.0.1. I don't recall having this issue with the prior versions of Fresh. I've done a complete wipe to fix a battery drain issue and the problem has carried over.
This is my first android device and i'm loving it... but one thing that irks me is the use, or lack thereof, of the back button.
As I am navigating menus and options in the Settings, I cannot simply go back one menu using the back key. For example, if I go to Settings->Battery Manager->Battery Profile Options and want to go back to the Settings screen, I cannot.
Pushing the back button does nothing and I can only go back to the Settings menu by going Home, then re-entering.
Another quirk regarding the back button is when reading emails. Using a regular email account such as Hotmail, I cannot simply read an email and go back to the inbox using the button.
It makes navigating the phone very tedious.
I am getting frustrated with all the re-boots on my Droid. They don't seem to be related to any running service, unless it is a background service. 98% of the time the phone reboots, it is "asleep" in my pocket. I will hear the notification chime, pull the phone out, and see the droid eye. suxxor, booted again! This happens about twice a day now. Before the 2.1 OTA it was about once a day. When the phone was new, it was about once every other day. Phone was rooted, but not rom'ed before OTA. I have not re-rooted after OTA. I have not wiped (ever), but am about ready to try. Recently added Helix as my home, but had the re-boots before helix.

I've seen several people mention how various ROMs cause occasional/continual reboots for them, but I had never witnessed my phone rebooting on it's own... until today. Now I'm curious to know if my phone reboots when I'm not aware of it. I hate to think that the ROM I'm running is causing harm or problems for my phone that I'm not even aware of.

I have flashed my fair share of ROMS the past few days, but after a 3 time total wipe (consecutive) and a nandroid restore from a few days ago when it was very stable. My only suspects are a re-downloaded FB app and Dialer One. I am thinking of doing the 0.9 update.zip for good measure.
View 10 Replies View Relatedi tried to flash a rom without unlocking my bootloader. Well im running windows 8.1 and for some reason i couldnt get my computer to recognize the phone at all. After using 3 or 4 different guides i gave up for a few days so not to get too aggrivated. I mean its my own fault but my back up phone sucks lol. So i borrowed my wifes laptop running win 7. I Followed this guide androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/807569-guide-security-error-fix.html. everything seemed to work got the s/w screen to appear in reverse and using the cmd prompt that says wiating for device then starting the .bat file from the download it says on the bat cmd prompt that everything worked. well at the bottom its says done then comes up with C:fast boot yours. i have been browsing Google but i haven't been able to find what i am supposed to do with the yours file. i tried putting a kdz file into the file location and running it from that but no luck. after a few min the phone auto reboots and comes back with the security error screen and not the backwards one.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI get random reboots occasionally. I do not think it is app related because it happens when my phone is in standby, I.E. in my pocket on table or even in Multimedia dock? Any suggestions anyone? One thing I think is suspect is Awakestay because It did not completely uninstall from my phone. Maybe it iscausing some kind of conflict. It was working fine and stopped working so I uninstalled when I went to reinstall it shows up as an installed app but it is not in my widget list and I do not have option to uninstall from market or app list.

She got the deal from Wireless Amazon Beta, where she only paid 39.99.I wasn't able to, wasn't eligible for upgrade and got mine at the store.Anyhow, her phone a couple days in would freeze, the screen would go black, and then it reboots.Now it happens a couple times a day at least.Obviously seems like it's defective, but I'm wondering if anybody else is dealing with the same problem?If so, have you taken into Verizon. what have they told you or done for you?Wondering if she should send this back to Amazon Wireless, or head into a Verizon.And I'm wondering what kind of return/exchange/refurbishing headache were in for.

I'm getting a weird "soft reboot." That's the only way I can explain it. My phone freezes, and then reboots. The weird thing is that in the about phone it will have a continuous up-time. For example it would say up-time: 4h 36m when it froze and rebooted 5 minutes ago.
The other weird thing is that at 1.1Ghz, I can do a 20 minute stress test with zero problems. But a couple minutes later while unlocking my phone or texting it reboots.
It isn't just this ROM or just being overclocked either. I've always had this problem with 2.2. I turned off overclocking, and I've been going strong for about 10 minutes but I doubt it will last.
Did the stock voltages change between 2.1 and 2.2? Is it possible that my phone just sucks and can't handle the new voltages?
I need some instructions on how to remove the Eris 2.1 leak that I installed? I did it by downloading some file and copying it to my memory card, then holding down the vol button and the power button. How do I flash it back to 1.5? This leak is very buggy on my phone.

When I am done using my phone I usually hit the home button to get to my home screen, regardless of what app or what screen I'm on. Then I press the power button at the top top turn off the screen. Almost everyday with what I thought was no clear pattern, my phone would reboot just after setting it down when I was done using it. I found that when pressing power too quickly after pressing home when the app hasn't fully gone away yet causes the phone to reboot. I have been able to consistently do this today from the gallery, not just at a specific picture but when viewing the list of my phone pictures. Over half a dozen times just now, every time, home then power and it reboots. I uninstalled OpenHome thinking it was related to the custom home app, but even with the default home it is still happening.Gallery is not the main problem, it has happened from other apps, but that one I have been able to most consistenly reproduce it because it takes longer for that to close before getting to the home screen (I only have 52 pictures, so I can't imagine that is the reason). I am about to go to a verizon store and see if I can reproduce it on the phones on display.
