Anyone use Yahoo Mail's app today?
I was just hit with a message that says,
"In Order to continue using this app, you must download to version 1.2 of this app in order to continue"
then I have 'Install' and "Exit".
Is this common or a possible virus/bug?

I've been reading that after the OTA update, the Eris will be able to support Yahoo mail, but I'm still not sure how to do it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just updated my wife's phone to 2.1. Yahoo Mail however doesn't seem to be working. It logs into the account ok, but it shows "no mail" when I go into the mailbox. On my phone, however, it shows all of my mail, whether it is new or old.
View 5 Replies View RelatedNot got the phone yet.. but it looks good.. as an Apple fan i love the Iphone but im not willing to change carrier or pay what they want.. so i think the hero is my best option.. What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find a good email set up on my Droid. When I got my droid I set up my email for POP3 since I have Yahoo Mail Plus. I do not want to use imap for many reasons. It set up no problem, put it constantly pulls old messages from the server or ones that I deleted off the phone (not the server) days earlier. So then, I switched to having gmail pull my yahoo mail via pop3. That solved the old message issues, but if anyone know about gmail, you can't set the frequency by which it pulls from the server. I would always get my email anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour and half after it was actually received. So today I tried the new imap set up. It works except I have a computer at home that's pulling the message via POP3. When it does that, it marks them as read on the server. Because of that I don't get notified of new messages. When the Droid syncs with yahoo, it shows that the message is already read.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy wife loves her yahoo mail for some reason. She has her Gmail forward to her yahoo mail without keeping a copy in gmail. Now when I send her email, it takes up to 10 minutes before she receives it. I set yahoo mail up through settings>accounts>yahoo mail. She isn't using a yahoo mail app. Is there a way to get instant notification of yahoo mail without forwarding it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have rooted my Droid 1 and I cannot get the Android email client to connect to Yahoo like I did with my stock rom. I am getting a invalid ID/incorrect password error. I have this Same problem with Ultimate Droid and Cyanogen. I can install the Yahoo mail app and connect but I do not like using the Yahoo app would rather use the Android email client.

I keep getting "Setup could not finish" "Username or password incorrect(530 Access denied: Need SMTP Privileges to access this server) and Ive tried this many different times. I know the password and username are correct. what else should I try?

View 10 Replies View RelatedJust set my wife up with the new yahoo mail app that came out last week. Very nice that it pushes now. I can't, however, get it to make any notification sounds. She has Zedge for downloading ringtones and notification sounds and her general notification sound is set as a sound from Zedge at this time. Will yahoo only use stock sounds so it doesn't play anything? I do have the box checked to use notification sounds and vibrate in the setting.

I have to physically go in and check it, I am a former blackberry user, and if youve owned a blackberry you know how convenient the email push is! The phone and everything on it work fine except it is running Firmware 2.0 When I check for updates it says that there are no updates available. My old Droid that broke was running the 2.2 How do I upgrade to the 2.2 or will the update just appear one of these days? Also the yahoo mail app does not appear in the marlet on the new phone but I had been running it on my old phone. Is this due to the older operating system?

View 1 Replies View RelatedYahoo Mail. Looks pretty but wont download attachments and has no way to log out so there's no way to secure the account. Worst of all it screwed up the on-off switch and incoming calls wouldn't turn the phone on.(how I don't know) and required a hard reset to fix.

View 8 Replies View RelatedRecently I have been having issues with viewing my email messages in the Yahoo Mail App. When I open some messages all is see is line after line of code instead of the message text. It doesn't seem to matter what the source email is (gmail, hotmail, etc). Some emails are ok some are not. Anyone else have this problem? Any fixes?

I click on "e-mail", I type in my e-mail address and my password, and then I click "next". And then I get a message that says my username and/or password does not match. But I am positive it does, as I have gone online to test it. I have tried retyping my username and passwrod over and over again without any success. I can't get passed that screen.
I have Verizon FiOS at my house, so my e-mail is set-up through Verizon/Yahoo.
Is there a way to rid/delete this Sprint VVM mandatory update message/icon that DOESNT WORK, thats in my status bar?

Today, got a pop up--mandatory update, voicemail to text crap.
After install,
1. Speakerphone on voicemail doesn't work.
2. Call back on voicemail doesn't work.
3. Get "Subscribe to Voicemail-to-Text" button.
Did these fools foul up my phone, or what? Solutions, other than gelignite at Sprint HQ ?
I just got my Captivate the other day and I was wondering if there are any good e-mail apps for gmail, yahoo mail, and hotmail? I've tried each and the stock but either it won't let me add multiple accounts or it doesn't receive the emails even though there are new ones in my inbox when I check it.

The phone is rooted, and I assume that this is what is causing the failure. So my questions are, what happens if I do not download the update, and what can I do to stop recieving the message? it seems to pop up everytime I recieve a text.
