My Yahoo mail stopped working today. VZ set it up but now it says my username and password are wrong. I went it and made sure they were right and they are and checked online and it work..weird ..anyone with a similar issue?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSeveral weeks ago I was using the default mail client and my (free) Yahoo account just randomly disappeared one day. I decided to download K-9 mail and give it a try. Setup was easy and it worked like a charm. No deleted emails coming back, no multiple messages in my sent folder, everything just worked.
That was until a couple days ago. I noticed that I hadn't been getting any email notifications on my Droid through K-9. I opened the app and the last email showing up was from 2/6/2010. I did the refresh and nothing happened. I held down the power button and choose "Power Off". I turned it back on. I went to K-9 did a refresh, it said it was checking my Yahoo account but it didn't retreive any new emails.
When I log onto Yahoo online I have new emails (both read and unread) but none of them are being retrieved by K-9. What is going on?
Yahoo mail app on phone, it all of a sudden stopped syncing. It refreshes but it is not getting the emails. It is showing emails up until yesterday. I have rebooted phone, force stopped app...nothing.

I deleted it and then put it back on the phone and I have the old emails but no new ones will transmit. Any solutions? thoughts? I am using mail droid to get mail from this account now but I want to use the main email function for this phone!

1. I said yes to the upgrade on Friday
2. Set up and turned wi-fi on
3. Turned the location feature on
After Yahoo email stopped working I deleted the account from EVO and set up Yahoo email again. It downloaded the emails for the last two weeks but it stopped downloading messages on 7/01/10 the last "good" day before the update I accepted.
When I first got my Moment, I couldn't get my Yahoo email to work under the "email" app.
I tried the following settings and it miraculously worked! I've been getting my Yahoo email on my Moment flawlessly for the past month: Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....
INCOMING
Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
port - 143
security type - TLS (if available)
OUTGOING
SMTP Server- smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
port - 25
security type - TLS (if available)
* check Require sign-in
However, my Yahoo email just stopped working on my Moment yesterday (it won't load new emails into my inbox on my phone)! It keeps telling me "username or password incorrect".. WTH!
Is anyone else having this issue recently? Could this be a new change that Yahoo made?
Does anyone else have any ideas of what the next step could be to resolve this? I'll bet my turkey that if I called Sprint Tech Support they would refer me to Yahoo, and if I called Yahoo, they'd refer me to Sprint!
Also, if you are using the same settings that I've been using and it is still working okay for you, please be so kind as to advise- so I know that that setting above is still working, and it is more likely just an issue with my Sprint Account.
Tried imap.mail.yahoo.com and all the combos of settings that I found searching this and other forums. Even letting the phone setup automatically puts in android.imap.mail.yahoo.com and it won't authenticate. I have a paid plus yahoo account.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNot got the phone yet.. but it looks good.. as an Apple fan i love the Iphone but im not willing to change carrier or pay what they want.. so i think the hero is my best option.. What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...

They tried to clear cache, ppower on and off... I told them to uninstall from the Apps in settings, but the uninstall button and the force stop button aren't highlighted.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find a good email set up on my Droid. When I got my droid I set up my email for POP3 since I have Yahoo Mail Plus. I do not want to use imap for many reasons. It set up no problem, put it constantly pulls old messages from the server or ones that I deleted off the phone (not the server) days earlier. So then, I switched to having gmail pull my yahoo mail via pop3. That solved the old message issues, but if anyone know about gmail, you can't set the frequency by which it pulls from the server. I would always get my email anywhere from 30 minutes to and hour and half after it was actually received. So today I tried the new imap set up. It works except I have a computer at home that's pulling the message via POP3. When it does that, it marks them as read on the server. Because of that I don't get notified of new messages. When the Droid syncs with yahoo, it shows that the message is already read.

Now when I send her email, it takes up to 10 minutes before she receives it. I set yahoo mail up through settings>accounts>yahoo mail. She isn't using a yahoo mail app. Is there a way to get instant notification of yahoo mail without forwarding it?

I have this Same problem with Ultimate Droid and Cyanogen. I can install the Yahoo mail app and connect but I do not like using the Yahoo app would rather use the Android email client.

ETA: I just found that these settings work but I have to disable WiFi which is total BS
For Incoming Server Settings set the IMAP server to imap.mail.yahoo.com and the Port to 143
For Outgoing Server Settings set the SMTP Server to "smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com and the Port to 587
When ever I try to log in to either my yahoo mail app or my stock email app. I get an error message

The stock email apps gives me this error message: Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password.
I know im not putting in the wrong email and password, because I logged into my email just perfectly on the computer. And I am NOT connected to wifi when I try to login
I downloaded yahoo mail. It was working fine until this morning. When i tried to login it gave me an error message SSL certificate-check date and time error
Also on the stock email app, does have the ability to add more than one account? I never been in the stock app because it won't let me log in. I would love to continue using yahoo mail (if it ever starts working again) but I only have about 25mb left of memory. And the reason I prefer to use that app instead of the stock email is because it allows to add more than one account.
Anyone use Yahoo Mail's app today?
I was just hit with a message that says,
"In Order to continue using this app, you must download to version 1.2 of this app in order to continue"
then I have 'Install' and "Exit".
Is this common or a possible virus/bug?
Just set my wife up with the new yahoo mail app that came out last week. Very nice that it pushes now. I can't, however, get it to make any notification sounds. She has Zedge for downloading ringtones and notification sounds and her general notification sound is set as a sound from Zedge at this time. Will yahoo only use stock sounds so it doesn't play anything? I do have the box checked to use notification sounds and vibrate in the setting.

I have to physically go in and check it, I am a former blackberry user, and if youve owned a blackberry you know how convenient the email push is! The phone and everything on it work fine except it is running Firmware 2.0 When I check for updates it says that there are no updates available. My old Droid that broke was running the 2.2 How do I upgrade to the 2.2 or will the update just appear one of these days? Also the yahoo mail app does not appear in the marlet on the new phone but I had been running it on my old phone. Is this due to the older operating system?

Initially when I was using the Yahoo Mail App on my 12.2 with contacts synced. I was able to successfully use the autofill in the "To" bar. But for some unknown reason autofill no longer works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled YM app a few times and there is no change. I have alse cleared cache on Contacts with no dice either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYahoo Mail. Looks pretty but wont download attachments and has no way to log out so there's no way to secure the account. Worst of all it screwed up the on-off switch and incoming calls wouldn't turn the phone on.(how I don't know) and required a hard reset to fix.
View 2 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.
