Motorola Droid X : Need To Have Quadrant Score?
Sep 25, 2010
can someone explain the quadrant score to me and if it really means anything? last weekend when i first rooted my DX seemed super fast. had a score of 1580+. then i bricked it and now with almost the exact same set up the most i get is 1403. i dont know if maybe i need to clear out some memory or is there another way to improve it. im running 2.3.15. then i had 2.3.13 but i thought the newer one would be an improvement. idk now.

I see everyone always posting their quadrant score. Is it an app I need to download? I'd like to monitor the speed of my phone before and after I root, so I figured this would be handy.

Please download Linpak for Android and Quadrant Standard from the market and let us know what both of your scores were.Sorry about the title I posted in the wrong forum. I would still like to know for the Captivate though.

I installed the leaked 2.2 update and got it all working. Not being happy enough with how it came out I started playing around with my Titanium Backups and system settings. (I was trying to restore system settings so I wouldn't have to go through everything again.) In any case, I took benchmarks while doing this, because I didn't want to gimp my now much faster dinc.
On a stock 2.1 my Quadrant score was around 530. With the 2.2 leak my Quadrant score was around 1050. After restoring some 2.1 system files my Quadrant score was 1213. Of course, my phone became a bit unstable. Somebody with more free time needs to sit down and play around with this. A few tweaks and the Dinc could really fly on 2.2.

I am currently using ESPN ScoreCenter with Launcher Pro Plus and the widget won't update. It used to, but for some reason it stopped one day. I stopped using it and went to SportsTap.Again, it worked at first, but then said no games scheduled (which I know wasn't true).I went back to ESPN, but it won't do anything when I hit the widget. I have to go to my app drawer to open it to get any kind of information. What's the point of a widget if it doesn't do anything except take up space?Any ideas out there? (I tried deselecting the home screen cache option in LPP, but it didn't matter)

My wife's stock, unrooted, Droid routinely scored in the 300s, right where a stock Droid should be. Now with 2.2, she hit 843, and 916--all without starting fresh from a reboot. Looks like some of the "smokin!" is true after all!

I have a Droid running 2.0.1 (rooted) with 2.1 music, weather and news, gallery, but not launcher. Standard apps plus Home++. I enabled JIT via DroidRootPro and ran some pre and post benchmarks. Note: I am not using any custom ROM or overclocking. Overall the results seem quite promising with pretty substantial gains in most categories.
However, some have me perplexed so i'm hoping someone in this community can clarify it for me. I'm attaching my benchmark scores and you'll notice a few rows have a question mark because i don't understand why enabling JIT is negatively impacting the score. I would appreciate any insight into what JIT does and why it might impact some of the scores, mostly the time to completion ones (time in seconds) and specifically the graphics ones.
P.S. I'm sure there's some better way to attach this sort of thing. I had to size it way down to meet the restrictions. If there's a better way just let me know and i'll redo it.

I've been running BB V0.4 with chevy's no1 ULV 1.2Ghz kernel (mostly as an experiment). All my normal applications run flawlessly and the battery life has been good. No issues streaming video, running Pandora, playing 3D games, running SetCPU stress test. However, about every 4th time I run Quadrant, it force closes on the program startup.
This looks like a warning sign that I'm running right on the edge and will eventually have trouble with my normal applications as well. I haven't run Quadrant before using this new kernel. Is this a program that will sometimes force close even nothing is wrong? Also it only force closes if I haven't run it in a while. Once it is in memory I can rerun it many times with no force closes.

Is a quad benchmark of 1226 on the Droid 1 considered good? very good? fair? Also I flashed slayher's 1.1 kernel, but in system is say's the cpu is only running at 600 mhz. I have UD 8.0 with WD themes where do I look to change the cpu settings? or do I need to download set cpu from the market? Lastly I was thinking of upgrading to the latest baseband ver. I'm getting 2016 down & 576 up with my current baseband ver. the worst spot in my house I get 1400 down & 350 up..do you think it would be worth trying the latest? or am I doing just fine with my current ver.?

I got the app. I see when I was at 2.1 I got in the 500's but now with 2.2 I am getting 1,242, better than the droid x.
BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!
It is seriously like a double rainbow to me. (in all joking aside, I really am wondering what this means)

I am trying to make a high score table that shows the highest 10 scores in a game? so i was thinking of adding an activity (for that) in my game. once the player loses, the activity is called and it asks for his name after showing his score. after that a high score table pops up showing the highest 10 scores.

I just isntalled and ran the quadrant benchmart app and have some questions.
while running the 2D and 3D graphics tests I got the followign results:
2D 1/1 consistantly around 17 FPS
3D 1/3 ran around 7 for awhile, then around 12, jumped to 25, then ran around 8 FPS for awhile
3D 2/3 ran consistantly around 40 FPS
3D 3/3 ran consistantly around 10 FPS
my overall score was 1391
my question is, what does all this mean? is it any good? 1391 out of what? are those frams per second results decent? is there a reason the first 3D FPS results were so inconsistant?
also with linpack, I'm getting 38 mflops in .14 seconds. why so crappy?
I'm running CyanogenMod6 test8 with the stock kernel. I did it with SetCPU at 998MHz and I uninstalled SetCPU and reran linpack and same results.

I just got a new HTC Evo with Froyo and downloaded the Quadrant Standard benchmarking app. I ran it around 5 times and averaged around 790, I don't understand why this is so low given that usually EVOs are up around 1200. I ran advanced task killer beforehand so there were no apps running either. Does anyone know what could be going on?

I have seen several quadrant scores of the Evo with froyo and they are all in the mid 1200's. Thats very close to what most stock 2.1 X's are running. And keep in mind that a stock 2.1 evo is like 750 quadrant.

I would like to get some some real world data. Against my phone.Could you guys post your Quadrant scores please. In the Droid forums we're getting from 1450-1680. I was just wondering how your scores compare against the chart. I'm assuming it would be better than the Nexus One 2.2 on there.
