View 21 RepliesI still have rooting on 2.1 but every time I run 2.2 (with the superuser icon), I try to run a program like setcpu (y'know because I thought I was rooted) or any other program that requires root. It still doesn't work and says "no rooted access detected". I load up the superuser app no messages or anything just a black screen. I've tried the "update.zip fix" about 20x and still nothing. Am I doing the update wrong or something? Cause reboot in recovery with clockwork mod and hit "apply update.zip".
View 3 Replies View RelatedNot sure why but I apparently can no longer litsen to my Voange voicemail which comes attached to the email as a wav file. Not sure if it is a Froyo thing or a Chevy4.6 rom thing.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else experienced this? Some of the pics I have taken are still there but no where near as many as I had before I updated. Same deal with videos I have taken

View 11 Replies View RelatedHere is the scenario:
Motorola Droid - Original
1. Rooted 2.1, then
2. OTA Stock Update to 2.2, then
3. Seem to have lost root, However - I still have the Superuser Permissions Icon.
I use Barnacle for WiFi Tether - I get a "Permission Denied" error when I try to start the application. I also went into the terminal emulator and tried an "su" which also gave a permission denied response. I tried "sudo" and also got permission denied response. Others have told me this is common with this progression of events. However, How do I now ROOT 2.2 in this scenario?
I have just done the 'one click root' to my desire (here), and after installing leeDroid's Froyo rom (2.0c) I have lost root access to my phone. This means I cant do a Titanium Backup restore to get all my stuff back. Anyone know of a quick fix? or do I have to roll back and start again?

View 42 Replies View RelatedI've lost my Voice Search since doing the Froyo update. I've searched the market and cant find it. My search key used to be configured for long press to open voice search and I really miss the functionality.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust noticed when i turn my droid on or mount and unmount the sd card i no longer get any audio notification. The "droid" audio that i had is gone and i see no way to enable it.Any one expierence this or have a fix? In 2.1 there was a sd mount option in the sound settings but that seems to be gone now.
View 12 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated to froyo I seem to have lost my push email with gmail. Before I would receive notifications of new emails the second I got them, but now I don't, I have it set to automatically sync but I don't see options for push emails anymore,
View 1 Replies View RelatedGo into recovery (like you did to apply the update.zip). Wipe your cache. Perform a factory reset/date wipe or whatever it's called from within recovery. You _should_ (again I take no responsibility here) boot into 2.1 where you can root and then apply 2.2 update again. Good luck, and let us know if it does/doesn't work.
To revert to 2.1:
1: Flash sbf. After this, you will bootloop.
2: Get into recovery like you did when you updated to 2.2.
3: Wipe cache.
4. Factory reset.
When you reboot you should be at stock 2.1. This would be useful if you needed to return the phone for warranty services, or if you need to reinstall 2.2 for some reason (like to gain root).
I followed directions, but I lost root after the 2.2 update. Anyone tell me how to get root back?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSomehow I lost root using ROM manager and cyanogen 5.0.5. How can I gain root back?
View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay so here's the deal today I updated to 2.3.15 and still had root. Then after that I loaded the tranquility 2.2.3 and right after lost root. What can I do to gain root access again?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI saw the forum thread here: Cant root, is it the latest ota software update? I can't seem to use any apps that require root access after android update earlier this week. I have an HTC Incredible, 2.2, rooted with un revoked. I can't seem to re-root it either. Not sure if this is to do with the update or not.
View 16 Replies View Relatedand since the app is still there I cant root because my phone things I'm still rooted and I cant remove the app because I'm not rooted After looking around I will probably need the sbf file to resolve this issue.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was sitting at my desk and work and saw the "System Update" notification pop up on my phone. I grabbed my phone, stood up, and showed my coworker. Unfortunately, in doing so I accidentally pressed "Update Now." I had planned to post-pone the update until I got home so I could Unrevoked Forever and S-Off. It's currently in the middle of installing (little ! icon w/ the Android guy next to it). I guess I'm going to lose my root. Any idea how long I'll have to wait to gain it back?
View 30 Replies View RelatedSo now that we have the 2.2 update and overclocking is not working what would need to be done to get things running again?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI've been reading about android 2.2 coming out with Flash 10 support. I haven't seen an official date yet but it sounds like it's coming very soon. I've been running BB v1.0 and love it. That being said, I want this new update asap but I don't want to lose root. Is there going to be any BB or similar rom using the update? I've read Google has the code under wraps. Root users had all the benefits of ese53 weeks before 2.1 was distributed, will we see a repeat or are root users going to need to wait for custom roms or risk losing root when 2.2 comes?
View 35 Replies View RelatedJust letting everyone know that the Easy Root app is now compatible with Froyo.

How to: Root DROID X Running Official Android 2.2 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
when the bat was running, it kept telling me that adb was not a valid command.
The entire process only took 30 seconds or so.
I suspect adb is not installed, or the sdk is not installed completely. My phone still is on, and appears normal, and is still plugged into the pc.
How can I check to see if it is indeed rooted, and if not, how to I install adb (link?) so it does root properly?
Well I have been seeing all these new posts on phandroid about the new motorola droid x and my upgrade isn't until '12. So all I'm asking is what is the best videos that you guys have seen to root and overclock the droid. Also how to put froyo on it. Just trying to get my version of a droid x.

I've lost Multi Touch Zoom on the Dolphin Browser Since the 2.1 update.
The native browser will not multi touch zoom either (I thought this was supposed to be included in the update).
Any ideas? I can't find a setting to turn it on.
