I know there are many different status bar themes and stuff out there but on xda it seems really hard and i dont wanna get stuck in a bootloop. is there an easier way of doing it?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI would like to change the colors of the Wif bars on the status bar at top of screen I extracted the .png files (blue bars), opened them in Paint, and manually changed the color to yellow. Zipped them back up in Metamorph format and pushed them to my Metamorph format and pushed them to my sdcard Applied theme using Metamorph, and it worked, except that the background is now white. I created a theme using the original 5 files. I created a theme using the original 5 png's with blue bars, applied the theme, and it worked and it doesn't have the white background. I think I understand what's happening, but not sure how to format the pictures correctly so just the bars show without the background. Any help appreciated, thanks
View 6 Replies View RelatedI switched to a Motorola Droid 5 days ago (from a Blackberry curve). I'm having some trouble understanding some of the behavior and getting used to it. These are all things that I didn't have to deal with on the blackberry. I know they are different devices but I use my Phone primarily for work. I'm afraid now that I'll miss important messages or voice calls..
- Phone goes Mute (ringer)... No idea how it gets there. Probably a bad finger swipe on the home screen. Is there a way to disable this?
- No easy change from profiles (notifications, ringer, etc...). I tried a few apps but they all seems to fail at turning on/off notifications for e-mail/gmail.
- don't receive my messages (gmail), seems like it doesn't sync all the time
- gapps crashes all the time when downloading an app from the market.
- Random calls...
- Didn't use the browser, battery is 70%. Put it down for a movie (2 hours) and then battery is now 20%... Browser used the battery 50% according to the phone. Switch to the browser, was on the google.com home page.
I did search on all of these and they seem to be pretty much standard issues that people are having. Are they?Other that that it seems like a great phone. But like I said, I'm afraid of not getting calls sometime because it gets turned to "mute".
Now that I'm rooted, can someone tell me how to change the top bar? Like remove the signal bars and time maybe even the battery icon?

Sometimes I would only be getting -96 yet the bars would be full (all instances I was in 3G mode) do the bars take into account anything else besides dbm?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt says 4 bars, but when i dial someone it goes down to 1 or 2 bars. Then when i hang up it goes back to 4. Then i go into about phone and it says -102 dBm, which does not equal 4 bars. SO why is it accurate only when i'm on a call?

To my surprise I got 2 extra bars of service right after I did *228, watched the bars go up while sitting in the same seat. Amazing, never thought it did much, but I am very surprised.
View 20 Replies View RelatedThis is my first smartphone and my first experience with any sort of high-speed mobile internet, so talk to me like an idiot. But my 3g speeds seem to be incredibly slow and I'm hoping there's something I can do about it. I might've just chalked it up to poor coverage in this area, but I get consistent 4 bars and I've ran SpeedTest.net and XtremeLabs Speedtest and, oddly, I'm getting very high numbers for upload speeds which seems to suggest the network is fine in this vicinity and something else is going on. WiFi speeds are perfect, very quick.
Here are the results of my most recent tests.

Upload: 855 kbps

Max Download: 100.2 kbps
Upload: 223.6 kbps (Don't know about the large discrepancy here)
So is there any course of action I can take to improve the situation? I've not tested speeds at any other locations yet (just got the phone Wednesday) but the high upload speed seems to tell me that it's not just a matter of my house being a 3g dead zone. And of course, this is my first experience so maybe I'm completely wrong with all my assumptions.
As of the last 2 weeks or so I would say, a few problems have come up with my D1.
The first is the GPS never can locate my phone anymore when im in maps. It just continues to say trying to locate, and does nothing else. It used to locate just fine, and basically has just stopped.
Second is I loose all of my signal bars and then have no service according to my phone.
Third is my battery life has just turned to complete crap. I had it fully charged this morning before I left at 10:30, and it was dead by 4. Did a few occasional texts, nothing else and it was done.
All of these things literally came out of no where, didn't change kernels or anything else that I can think of. I am running CM6 with one of P3's kernels.
Really weird, but when my phone is in standby, I have one bar. But when I try to connect to a call it jumps up to 3 or 4 bars. Anyone else having this issue or do I have a faulty phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that when I make a call my phone automatically drops from Full bars to 1 or 2. Anywhere I am this happens and it really bugs me that I think I have Ful strength and when I git the call button and the call is placed I really don't have full strength.

Personally I like using more on my computer...I just feel I can edit them better. The site I use is... Free Ringtones for mobile and iPhone - Audiko. You can download them to your computer, then e-mail and download to your phone or send them direct to your phone. Just wanted to share in case it helps anyone....personally I find it really easy to ensure I have the best quality

View 2 Replies View RelatedLet me start this off by saying today was my first time trying to root but I've read a lot about it. Anyways, I bought Easy Root this morning and rooted without any issues. Got Titanium and backed everything up. Got Rom Manager and downloaded Sapphire 1.0.0. I tried to install it, but when I tried to flash into Clockwork Recovery I was just brought to the regular recovery screen. Not realizing this at the time, I proceeded to wipe the phone and reboot. Obviously, it did not install the Sapphire Rom. For some reason, I figured I should just go back to stock android 2.2, so I did that. I still have the Superuser Permissions in my Apps, but when I go into Titanium, it says I'm not rooted. I even had it download a new version of BusyBox. I'm guessing this is because I went back to STOCK 2.2. Why do I still have the ninja icon, though? I can't download Easy Root because it's been removed from the Market. Is there some other way to give Titanium SU permissions?
