I have an apple timecapsule for my wireless router. I was wondering if anyone is able to get wifi to work with their time capsules. Also I was wondering if wifi has gotten any better with froyo.

For those of you that are having issues with wifi tethering on Froyo, this works for me:

I launch the wifi tether program, but my laptop (a whopping 6 inches away) finds NO SIGNAL. I am running Bugless Beast 0.1 Froyo with P3's 250-1000MHz kernel. Everything else works great, including Flash 10.1 but I can't seem to get wifi tethering working. Not a show-stopper, but a nuisance I would like to fix. Anyone else with this problem? And have any of you figured out a fix?

They claimed it's for technical reasons.Since everyone on the technical community agrees that it is not true, is there something we can do to catch the attention of Verizon and convince them to enable those features?A mass email? A petition?
View 27 Replies View RelatedCan it be done? Obviously Verizon and Motorola have disabled it because they want us to pay $20/month for the Verizon app. Yeah, sure Verizon. Anyways, if it requires a custom ROM to enable, then we're SOL until someone breaks the bootloader encryption or we have to use the free WiFi Tether for Root Users app which only supports Ad-hoc mode and WEP encryption, which basically is the same as no encryption really.

With Froyo, it's now showing as a white keyboard with smaller keys that looks look the Swype keyboard I had originally had on my Droid 1. Is this the "new" keyboard look for Swype on the Droid X or is there a way to bring back the old look before upgrading to Froyo on the Droid X? The version that is showing on the DX now is 1.64.40.9380.

I had a few questions that I saw on here, but I'm not 100% about.
1. Does this come with a cable to connect to the PC? The Eris's charger was both a charger and a cord to connect to the PC, really like this ability.
2. Does Droid have the ability to run Froyo WITHOUT rooting?
3. Can you comment on some things I may find annoying or cumbersome with the phone?
4. Can you comment on the benefits I will get?
My husband has an HTC Inc running froyo 2.2; swype on his phone has a different look to the keyboard and seemingly better functionality. Is there a difference in the version pre-loaded on the droid 2 (just got mine last night)?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded this from my rooted phone and here you go guys. I recommend waiting for a cooked zip as it messes with the recovery and bootloader just from looking at the zip file.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the latest Wifi Fix and OverClock kernel for 2.2 Froyo, but I'm still having issues randomly disconnecting from the wireless network... The wifi signal shows 0/3 bars even when sitting right in front of the router.
Froyo Overclocked Kernels includes *wifi* fix is where I got my kernel. I've been overclocking to 1200 GHz.

Even under the wireless network now, it says "Disabled, secured with 802.1x EAP"
When I first got my X it allowed me to manually choose to connect to wifi but lately it just auto connects and I cant turn it off if im in a wifi area. This puts a huge drain on my battery. I'd prefer to have the OPTION to connect to wifi if/when i want to and to use the 3G network otherwise. Any idea how I can address this issue? (I did recently install Launcher Pro. Not sure if that has anything to do w/ it but figured id mention it)

I emailed myself the code and tried but no dice. I have goggled this issue and so far, the answers I have found didn't work for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've had my Droid for a few days now, and I'm loving it, but it seems to really be having problems with my wifi at home. Whenever I use it on my wireless here at home, it basically seems to make the wifi stop working on both the droid and my laptop. Everything works fine for awhile, usually until the droid goes to sleep, and then I can't get to the internet on my laptop, or the droid. The signal is still fine, but it doesn't go anywhere.

I have fios with a westell wireless g router but im only getting about 1 mbit up and down when i sit right next to it. My Verizon signal totally sux at home, and VZ does not seem to show any interest in fixing the matter. I have a high speed connection at home, so utilizing VOIP shouldn't be a problem - if I can find out how.

Wifi tether is now out on Droid. I saw this on DroidFourms. I haven't tried yet but will later today. Ill let everyone know how it works for me.

So whenever I connect to the wifi with my droid...my internet doesn't seem to work. the marketplace doesn't work, my browser, facebook..nothing works..but as soon as i turn wifi off, everything works. i've powercycled a couple times too but still happens all the time...
