Motorola Droid X :: Creating Wallpaper For Droid X

does anyone know what size a picture needs to be in order to not be blown up and look horrible on the Droid X homescreen? I had the motorola Devour before this phone, and it did the same thing and I never did figure out what size my pictures needed to be in order to look right on the homescreen. Is there an app out there that will make wallpaper from your pictures? Any help greatly appreciated and sorry if this has been posted in another spot, I tried to search through and didnt see an answer for my question.

I'm trying to "jump on the ROM train," and I recently just rooted my phone. I created a flash, reverting back to 2.0.1, and installed the Update.zip in recovery mode (meaning of course that I'm now rooted, with "SuperUser Permission" in my application list. I am now trying to create a nandroid backup, but am having some troubles. I've been theming my phone over the past week with Froyo BuglessBeast and have almost got my phone just the way I want it (custom icons, colors, launcher image, etc) My question is, how do I make this into an updateable file so I can flash it over future bugless upgrades instead of having to re-do everything again?
Just for information, not sure that it makes any difference. I themed the stock launcher as well as framework-res. I didn't do it with a home replacement.

I'd love to make my own boot animation but I don't know the process for breaking down a video into multiple images. I'd like to take a youtube video and make a boot animation out of it. Once I figure out how to convert the video to images I can handle the rest.

When creating an event on Google Calendar (on the web), the option to add a repeating "range" is available. For example, you can setup an event that repeats weekly. But you can also say that the event should stop at a certain date, therefore creating a range.
I created a repeating an event from Google Calendar on my Droid, however, and the range was not an option, so I had to go to the web version later and set that from there. Did I miss someting or is that option actually not available on the Android version of Google Calendar?

For a while I'm wanting to create live wallpapers, after weeks of searching and weeks of trying out various things (The LWP creator found on XDA etc) I've figured out all of them are not really working with the latest phone's, and lastest screen resolutions.
How to create live wallpapers, for the latest screen resolutions, or just compatible with all.
What I want is to create a "Gif-like" android LWP.

It seems that no matter what resolution/DPI i create images for contact id photos, it ALWAYS comes up choppy when the person is actually calling. When I browse to the file on the phone and view it through albums, it looks completely fine and crisp, but after i set it to a contact id, and that contact calls me the photo that comes up is all pixelated...
I have tried the on-board cropping using very high res images, as well as creating an image on photoshop with 250x250 resolution @ 72-300dpi

I know what the resolution is for the Droid x which is 480x854..but what is the wallpaper resolution? On the Droid Incredible and I believe even the original Droid the wallpaper size was different than the resolution of the screen.

I'd like for someone to either make (or if its been made, show me), the Andoid logo (little green alien) with an X-men logo on his his chest or make him look like one of the original X-men characters. Kind of like what was done with the Incredible with the Disney Incredibles logo on his chest. I think this would be pretty awesome.

I've used Mabilo and AndroLib wallpaper apps on my phone but notice that all of the wallpapers I download become a bit grainy when I use them as a background.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a very high res wallpaper app? I woulnd't mind dropping a little change in the developers pocket as long as it is a quality app.

I have tried and cant seem to get any picture to show up right on the droid x for a wallpaper. How are you guys doing it. I found some pics to make a wallpaper and then resized then 960x854. I then sent to my gmail account and saved then put as a wallpaper which doenst look right at all.

I have my wallpaper fixed so it doesn't move when I move from screen to screen. Since I'm using a fixed wallpaper why does it still want me to crop an image? I have an image on my phone that fits the screen perfectly but when I go to set it as a wallpaper it wants to crop it and cut the image pretty much in half which is really dumb. Anyway around this?

I use wallswitcher to change my wallpaper every 30 minutes. Works great.
However I have noticed an issue. after enough switches the wallpaper updates, but the lockscreen background reverts to the droid X default.
Only rebooting the phone seems to help.

I'm currently running BB v.08 OCed to 1100 mhz and i'm using the neutral network LWP that was made specifically for the droid. Whenever I use my facebook widget or handcent quick reply, as i'm typing with the virual portrait mode keyboard once I reach a certain amount of characters my screen flashes and one of the default wallpapers that comes with the droid replaces my LWP. Why is it doing this? Once i finish the message I can go back and change the wallpaper, but it's really annoying how it changes by itself
