Motorola Droid X :: Screen To Stay Dark For SMS And Incoming Call Notification
Jul 15, 2010The new DX and I love it. It's fast and great. I'm a heavy user so I'd like to conserve as much battery as possible.Is it possible to have the screen not light up when I get an SMS or a call?I'd like my phone to just ring without lighting up because I get tons of SMS for my work.

May 10, 2010Not sure if this is a problem or if it has always been like this-I was out on Friday night and had my phone laying flat horizontally-I tried to get it into landscape mode by rotating-it wouldn't work. The only way I could get it to flip into landscape mode was to hold it vertically. Is there something wrong with my phone or am I imagining things?

Sep 30, 2010This one surely is a simple one but I haven't made sense of is yet. I'm working on an app in opengl es on android. everything goes well except when I load the textures. I manage to open load and create all the textures without any problem, but the image displays itself rotated of 90. it looks as if the application does not consider that its is in landscape when opening the image...I solved the problem by turning all my textures of 90 degrees but I would sure like to figure this one out Because it is the only thing that is not rotated, the top bar is rotated, the touch coordinated are rotated,
the h and w of the surface are good,

Motorola Droid X :: Not Able To Answer Incoming Call
Aug 17, 2010So the other day i got a call and i pulled the phone out of my pocket and tried to slide to answer and nothing happned. I tried to slide it to drop the call and nothing happened. I then mashed a bunch of buttons in frustration and think i rebooted my phone. It did it again to me today, though after about 10 seconds it finally allowed me to answer the phone. I have weatherbug going without GPS as that killed the battery, also have pocket empires going today.

Nov 13, 2010Very occasionally, when I get an incoming call the contact picture and info shows up, the slider shows at the bottom of the screen, but no matter what I do I can't slide it to unlock it. Has anyone else had this problem?I'm relatively sure it's a hardware problem with the touchscreen, but wanted to check to see if anyone else has seen this problem.

Apr 3, 2010Often my Droid will only ring one time for an incoming call. If the call is left unanswered it is auto-answered after a "normal" amount of time. But I can watch the screen of my quiet Droid after the initial ring and count the seconds until it's auto-answered with my recorded greeting. It should be ringing during that time.
It seems to do this randomly, though it's really tough to troubleshoot and tell definitively. I sat for two hours with my wife's Droid, my laptop phone program and our regular house phone and got consistently inconsistent results!
I've yanked every phone call specific app and reinstalled them systematically, rebooting each time. I've taken a look at system apps to see if there is a conflict. I've also looked at (and pulled & reinstalled) audio setting apps looking for a conflict.
I've changed ring tones to MP3 clips, and while they do play in their entirety, they usually repeat and they are not. I've even done a hack to the system/build.prop file that changes the delay before the phone rings.
I just can't seem to figure out what's going on. Anyone have any ideas?

Jul 29, 2010I have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.

when call is coming i start activity X with FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK flag, and it is work fine when my application is not on the screen.
but if my application on the screen (activity Y) and call come, when activity X called from braodcastReciver Activity Y cover screen over incoming call screen then Activity X display, so 2 activity become over incoming call, although i just want activity X just display.

Jul 20, 2010I don't know if this is like a default option but i've found thet my X's entire OS goes into landscape mode, including app tray, browser, apps, everything. I haven't downloaded any apps that do this and while its in this mode it wont rotate back to portrait. The only way I could change it back is by rebooting. I haven't found a way to voluntarily recreate this, it just happens, maybe by a certain combination of keys,but I'd like to know how to recreate this. I'm sure its probably really obvious so forgive me for my obliviousness

Mar 26, 2012there are those of us, who due to whatever reason (helmet cams, preference for posture, etc) want to record videos in portrait mode.
What happens (on my sgs2) is that the video records just fine in whatever resolution I pick... but it records it 90 degrees rotated to the right.
The solution that is usually offered is that "you can rotate it after!" yes... but then you have to CROP part of the image and lower the resolution. 1920 x 1080 recordings end up having to be cropped so that half of the view is cut out , or even more if you are maintaining a real aspect ratio.
The questions about "why not just hold it sideways", are just as pointless as the statement by steve jobs telling iphone4 users that they were holding their phones wrong.
is this something that can be remedied ? or has google decided that people should only record videos when their phones are in landscape mode?
i understand that we cant see landscape resolution in portrait mode; but can't we just have a viewport into the camera, but record in properly oriented landscape mode? so that playback on a computer will show the full resolution, even though we will only see part of it on the phone..

Apr 4, 2014Using a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3. I use the swipe feature to unlock the phone.
If the phone is unlocked when I answer an incoming call, I can use all of the phones features, including Mute, Speakerphone, etc.
However, if the phone is LOCKED when I answer an incoming call, I cannot unlock the phone. Pressing the main button does not bring up the screen to enter my password. It just stays blank. Therefore no Mute, no Speakerphone, no access to contacts, etc. By default, you can't even end a call! If someone called me and just put me on hold, I would have to pull the battery to hang up. Fortunately I have set the power button to hang up calls, but that doesn't really fix the overall problem.
So, how do I get the phone to at least let me unlock it when in this situation.
KitKat 4.4 :: Answering Incoming Call By Tapping On Accept Button Screen
Mar 11, 2014I upgraded to KitKat 4.4.2 (Samsung Galaxy S4) and the "touch to answer" is enabled again.
How can I disable this? Even I have Easy Touch Mode "unchecked" it still answers only with tapping.
When I used Android 4.2.2 it was working fine. I don't want to use this !!!!
Android :: Droid Widget ImageButton Loses Image When Screen Rotated / Fix It?
Apr 16, 2010I have a widget on my home screen with several ImageButtons which have default background images. Through the configuration activity, I can change the image on any of the ImageButtons. The problem is that when the screen is rotated, the image on the ImageButton disapears and it changes back to the default image.
I don't know why this happens or how to fix it

The little robot (foryo or whatever) is a cute logo.. but it looks like a waving dildo.. Often times I have to answer calls in front of customers, family and friends. It's a little embarrassing having to pull a noisy, illuminated, vibrating green dildo out of my pocket every time I get a phone call.
