i will be doing a distance bicycle ride from philadelphia to atlantic city for charrity soon... i was going to stream pandora during my ride (going through the speaker on my hip) ... how long do you think the battery would last streaming on my hip? how much more charge do you think a double a battery would give my droid with this device? I'm thinking of getting this device so i can just plug in and charge my phone and keep on peddling my way along. this will be an all day event.

View 3 Replies View Relatedive seen several member on the droid forum mention they have an ipod touch. now that you have a droid that can/will do must of the apps your ipod touch will what are you doing with it? I keep thinking to sell mine but do like the audio quality I get from it and my cars stereo is made to work with an ipod. Have you sold yours? will you sell it or are you still into it after having a droid?

I've used the Storm and Incredible. Both phones just aren't as good as the iPod.
Some questions about this though...
Is it possible to sync an Android phone with iTunes on a Mac?
Is there an equalizer setting on the phone?
I just used my Droid wall mount to charge my iPod. Is it safe to try this on my iPod Touch?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI see a previous question about the fact that the Blue tooth technology on an iphone will only allow it to pair with the Nike shoe thing and some kind of head set, and will not allow it to pair to the Droid for transferring files or even to access internet. So, is there a way to use the wireless capabilities of the Droid to share its internet connection since the ipod touch can also use wi-fi? I don't have an ipod touch or I'd try it but I'd like to buy one (for the wife) and if we're in the car, she can use my droid's Verizon signal to get on the internet with the ipod torch's wi-fi capabilities.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a sales engineer for a company that specializes in streaming. I have and love my droid, i have tried using it with several of our products for live streaming but with no luck.
I have tried video meant to stream with the Ipod and nothing happens.
I have tried MP4 ASP and it starts to open the video but never plays.
I have tried progressive downloads of both with no luck.
i have tried 3gp with no luck.
Do you know what video formats it can stream?
I bought the droid, love it (using it as a wifi enabled media player with tons of apps), and can still return it penalty free, but am not impressed with the call quality. I am thinking about either getting the ipod touch, dropping the verizon service and using the droid, or getting the archos 5. I dont need GPS, phone, or the camera. I have a few questions.
1 Is this a stupid idea? I can get a 64gb ipod touch for $399. The 16gb droid will be $375 after early termination penalty.
2 How will it function without verizon? I will only be using data downloads where WIFI is enabled, everywhere else it will just be a stand alone media player.
3 I would like to use skype over WIFI. The skype lite app for droid does not allow that. Does the ipod touch require you to use an accessory with a microphone?
4 Battery power. I read on these forums that turning off the droid does not stop the battery from draining. If i turn the droid off and dont use it for a week, will it be dead?
5 How about Archos?
I did a quick search and couldn't find anything similar to this thread. I am taking a four day train trip across the country (The US) in August and I was wondering what apps would be best to document this? My ideal goal would be to have my route tracked, perhaps Google Maps Integration somehow, and also have pictures/text messages from along the way put onto the map wherever they were taken/written. I would like this to be viewable by friends/family online as the trip is happening. If I can't get the route tracked, that's fine, but I would like someway to display the pictures/texts from along the trip. What App or combination of apps would you guys recommend I use to accomplish this?I am familiar with WordPress and have used the Android Wordpress App a bit, but not too in depth. Would I be able to use this? Or is there a better way?Oh, and one more thing, unrelated. I noticed some apps (Google Voice for example) listed "Services that cost you money" as one thing they have access too. What exactly does this mean?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got lots of Audiobooks in m4b file format that I listen to on my ipod.
I'd love to be able to ditch the ipod all together and listen to them on my Desire. Problem is that I they aren't supported atm.
Is there a program/app out there that will help?
I'd ideally like them to remain as m4b so that it will remember my positions and keep the chapter formatting etc (which is obviously all lost when converting to mp3)
I have an iPod touch and I've jailbroken it, when I did this i was able to install a program on my iPod that allows me to install free apps from the app store. So does rooting have the same equivalent to the hero like free apps from the android market?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an Android phone (Nexus S) and a tablet (Xoom) and an iPod touch. What I want to know is this. Is there a way I can put my music on the Xoom and then sync my iPod touch to it?
I don't want to use the phone because the battery life isn't good enough, the ipod I can charge once a fortnight, the phone I charge daily and it wouldn't make it through a working day if I use it for my music.
I currently have all my music on my Ipod and want to transfer it to my Galaxy S2.
What is the easiest and worry free way of doing this?
I went to check my call log this morning and noticed it was completely empty. Not too big of a deal but still somewhat of a hassle. Then as I started getting calls throughout the day, I noticed that all of my contacts had their ringers reset to the default ringer instead of their custom one. I haven't seen or heard of this problem anywhere else. I know people have had their messages completely wiped but this seems to be only Phone data.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Evo, recently switched from an iphone. Loaded just a few songs on my Evo to test out the USB to car stereo connection and it works. But I liked the way iphone worked with the stereo better because all the Evo does is show is let me browse through folders like an mp3 CD would. The iphone would let me browse through artists, albums, playlists, genre, etc, etc all from using the controls on my steering wheel. Sooooo, does anybody know of an android app that will make my car stereo browse artists, albums and playlists like it could with iphone. I know its not a big deal but it would be more convenient, probably only advantage my iphone had over Evo.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if this was possible, my phone is rooted, and i do not have internet where i am. I am tethering my phone to the computer, and thats how im online typing this. I really want to get wifi on my ipod as well, but since theres no wifi where i am, i was wondering if i could use my phone somehow?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Xperia X10 Mini working rock solid with MiniCM10 and nAa JB 5 kernel.
I want to convert this device as Media Player (iPod) as well as can use it as second camera and backup phone.
This primary usage will be as Media Player.
1. A good Media Player app for Xperia X10 Mini (600mhz/256MB Ram, screen < 3")
2. How can i cut down the memory load to give lag free experience in media player.
3. Some light weight launcher, or how can i make media player to comeup as default instead of launcher.
XBMC doesnt work on the device, any other options?
just wondering how much the droid will overload Verizon data network, I used 700MB of data last month.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWell since I've got into installing custom ROMs its nice, but I hate wiping data/cache. I've gone from Nexbeast 1.1 to Nexfro .4 without a wipe. No complaints but when I drop my phone it immediately reboots. When I open it and click stuff to fast it will reboot and sometimes for no reason at all. Is this because of me not wiping data or just sucky phone? Using stock kernel. When going to CM6 should I wipe data?
View 1 Replies View Relatedso i had been having problems with the whole random rebooting issue that some people on the droid x have been having, so i called tech support and i had tried everything that they had suggested except the factory data reset. i was hesitant to do that because it just seems like doing something like that would never let me get my phone to working the way that it used to work. you know the way i had everything set up. well after the phone kept rebooting on its own i decided i would give it a shot. sure enough the phone just doesnt seem to be running the same as it did before. the phone seems to lag more, i am having to touch icons several times at times to make them work. task killer isnt running the way that it should. it just seems like the factory data reset made everything on the phone work just a little bit worse. has anyone else had this experience?
