I've searched around the forums (here and SDX forums) and although it seems the few people that had this issue were able to solve it, my case seems a bit different.
It's different because of the people I've read solving the issue, it was a problem with something they changed / removed with gmail / gmail storage or talk / talk storage. And when they cleared the cache or re-installed the problem went away. Also, it seemed that the same people had a problem with downloading from the market...
Neither of the above apply to me, but yet I'm still getting this FC error all the time!
I was helping a friend with their CL14 Moment out of the box...and went from stock 1.5 CL14 to 2.1 DD03 w/Joey recovery to EclairDD10 and v5 root. I then did the streaming media fix, and then the private app (build.prop) fix (all previously done with my phone no problems). I did all of these update right in a row, and after my last re-boot the FC error (process com.google.process.gapps has stoped unexpectedly) started showing up and won't go away.
The only .apk / odex files I removed were the preloaded Sprint apps
Does anybody have any other ideas on how I can get this FC error to stop? I've tried clearing the cache / data for all the mail / talk apps, rebooted, cleared dalvik cache...
On my Droid X, I get this message when I tap the battery icon while my phone is plugged in to the wall charger.Displays this message, then gives me the icon to force close.When I unplug the phone, it's normal and shows me the information such as time since unplugged as well as the normal information about percentages for what applications have used battery on the phone.I am running (2.2 froyo stock).No modifications or leaked downloads have been used on this phone.

The handset has been popping what this message for a couple days: The application Maps (process com.google.android.apps.maps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I did not open Maps, nor Latitude on my phone. I did not root my phone, yet I this message pops up every 20 second, and is extremely annoying. I was only give "Force close" as the choice to end the message box. Nothing really happened after I click on "Force close" until the next same message pops up.

Does anyone know how to change the direction of the unlock arrow? I use my phone in my left hand so it would be much more handy to use the phone if I could change the direction of the arrow. Currently the arrow goes from bottom left side of screen to the middle right side and this causes me to have to use both hands to use the phone even to do the simplest of tasks.
I want to be able to have the unlock arrow go from the bottom right side of the screen to the middle left side. This option would be a more normal flowing one handed function for me.
Is there an option for this? I have tried to find it and can not see it anywhere. I sure hope this can be changed because this is becoming very anoying. I like the swoop idea and think it could be handy and better than my old iPhone option but I need the direction change.

It usually happens when I'm texting or using the Messaging widget on the home screen and today it has been happening very often!! Starting to get annoying.

Of the apps I've downloaded, only a few of them have worked. Of those few that work, some don't work right. Has anyone had problems with these apps crashing on them, or just not working correctly?

- WeatherBug (kept showing the wrong location, crashed when trying to change location)
- Snake - doesn't work just says its "paused"
- RingDroid - crashes when I select the "Facebook Pop" button
- Layar - screen is rotated 90 degrees at all times
There have been others, but usually I just uninstall them right after discovering it doesn't work right.
I have built a game. When the user clicks a button on the main page, he is redirected to another activity for a predefined time(say 20 s) and then he returns to the main page where he can choose another button. Now, this works perfectly on the emulator but on the phone when I clicks another button on the main page, it says the application has stopped unexpectedly. Force close. However, if I wait for say 3 s before clicking another button, it works. Is it because the images on the background of the buttons are too heavy?

So I got this error today, and thought I'd share my woe. Some quick internet searches suggest it to be a fairly common issue on Android phones. Basically, when it happens, this error pops up when you turn your phone on, and the phone won't boot up. There's nothing you can do other than hard-reset, unfortunately, by switching it off, holding down both volume buttons, and then switching it on. You then select 'clear user data'. I am somewhat peeved, as it'll take me hours to get my phone set up again, but I'm happy it's alive again! And this time I'm going to make a backup.

Please try again". When I debug my code, it seems to break at random places that doesn't make sense. On top of that I tried to surround the entire code with a try/catch block just to try to catch the exception, but it doesn't work either. I'm suspecting it's the OS that is producing this error message but I don't know why. As far as my code goes, if there were exceptions caused by it, it would've been caught by the try/catch block. Can someone shed some light here?

If I force close it tries to go back to the desktop but yet again it crashes. If I reboot the phone everything will work yet again. Is there a way to see some log or something to see what's happening?

I am a 2 day old Android user coming from Windows Mobile (since the PPC-6600), I am getting the following message when I receive a txt message using of the out of box messaging application. I am using a brand new Sprint EPIC 4G.The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.I did some google searching and the best I could find was clearing the cache and program data from the mail applicatoin. It isn't working either, none of the fixes apply.I also tried installing "Handcent" and it does not appear to be working either. I am a brand new developer to Android. I wrote a pretty simple application that uses the gesture library. The application itself seems to run fine in the simulator. However, when I installed the application on my Google Dev Phone 1 (G1) last night, it doesn't seem to work. I've upgraded my G1 with the 1.6 image from the htc developer site. I see the first screen/activity for about a second and the application exits without and errors. Here is what my manifest looks like:

I have an MapView app downloaded from Internet, when I tested it on the simulator, everything is fine, but when I installed it on my phone, the app stopped unexpectedly. Here is the code
