I have been having problems getting the SD card to mount in recovery lately. I have both SPrecovery and clockworld flashed and i have tried reflashing them as that usually works. Nothing is working though.. It is the 16gb card that I got with my replacement Droid. I have never had this problem before.

Alright, so basically, my Droid hates me. I've searched all over, tried a ton of things, nothing will work.
Basically, whenever I go into any recovery, it can't mount the SD card. Clockwork usually crashes after 10 seconds, and SPRecovery doesn't crash, but it won't mount the card either. I tried a bunch of different versions, I tried flashing back and forth and rebooting constantly, I tried removing the battery and SD card for a few minutes, but none of it worked.
The weirdest part of it all that about 1 in every 20 times I boot into recovery, it actually DOES mount the card and I can actually do something. Please help!

When the (HTC Desire) phone is powered up it is unable to mount the SD card, and I am unable to have it mounted from the "Settings > SD card & Storage" menu. Having said that, the micro SD card can be accessed from a computer (when plugged in directly to the computer, i.e. no issue with the card), and moreover, when I am in the recovery mode, I can have it mounted and browse it. By the way, the card could be accessed from the phone until I downgraded the O/S, and managed to have it rooted.
When the phone is running normally, and connected to the USB port of a laptop, the laptop does recognize a device connected (can even do ADB), but I believe because the SD card is not mounted, the phone does not offer the option to make the card appear as a disk drive for computer access.
I am running the original (RUU, Telstra) Android 2.2 (2.26.841.2) on a HTC desire, after I had it "S-OFF'ed". After reloading the original 2.2, I had it rooted.
The micro SD card is a 2GB one, with approx 1.5GB formatted as FAT16 (contains typical file and photos), and 0.5 GB as EXT3 (contains nothing at the moment).

Recovery mode: ClockworkMod v5.0.2.0 (I manually loaded it)
I have searched online for solutions, and have not been able to have it fixed. Others seem to have different issues to that of mine. Usually, they cannot mount the SD-card at all (not even from recovery), or their SD card just needed to be reformatted. I think I have indicated that these do not appear to be relevant to my issue at all. I have also tried "Fastboot oem enableqxdm 0", and it made no difference.

I looked for this problem online and found that if I mounted the phone to my computer I could copy and paste a new ROM for my phone which I eventually tried to do but for some reason it does not allow me to check off either of the boxes next to "Mount SD Card" or "Mount Internal." It does let me mark all the other boxes. what I should do so the computer recognizes the phone as a "Removable Disk" like it used to so I can just drag and drop a new OS into my phone and put this thing behind me already?

I rooted last night, DL LFY and LFY1100 kernel. I installed the kernel and then LFY itself. After trying to reboot it only gets to the custom boot screen and will not launch. After 15 minutes I pulled the battery and tried to launch in recovery mode to load my backup. Upon trying to do that it says cannot mount to SD card. I try again and same thing. After failing to mount it goes into the same custom launch screen for LFY but no OS comes up.

I love almost everything about the phone. The problem is that the SD card won't work, and I'm not sure if it's the card or the phone. On around the 5th day with the phone, I was listening to music with pandora, and decided that I wanted to play a little Super KO Boxing 2. However, the battery was really low at the time. Because of this, as soon as I opened the game and it started searching the SD card for the down loadable content, the phone ran out of battery and the screen froze. I had to turn power off. Later on when it was done charging, I turned the phone on again, only to be notified that the SD card was of an unsupported filetype. So I formatted it in the settings menu, but nothing happened. I clicked format again, and still nothing. Now, even when I click the "mount button", nothing happens. I have tried removing the card and turning the phone on an off. I don't actually own a pc card reader but would have no problems with buying one.

View 11 Replies View RelatedIve been trying to reroot my droid and get it back to 2.2, i get it to rooted 2.0.1 no issues but when i try to go from there to 2.2 I always get errors in SPrecovery, when i try to do install from SD card i get error 30, when i try to do a backup i usually get and error. I got the backup to go through once but when i try to restore I get error 20. in SPrecovery when I select /mount SD it says SD card can not be found.
In Droid root helper I've mounted renamed installed busybox and flas, ive flashed the recovery, unmounted, synced, rebooted.
seems to go through fine.
then I put the rom I want Kangerades (http://androidforums.com/roms-droid/117131-7-7-10-rom-froyo-kangerade-5-0-9-a.html) green one, I put it in the root of my SD card, reboot to recovery, backup (try to, usually fails) wipe cache, then i try to install ROM from SD card keeps giving error. ( ive tried without wiping cache, with out wiping data and withou wiping both)
and tips? is their something im doing wrong? (first time I rooted and went to 2.2 I had much less issues.
I have also wiped my SD card completely and reinstalled everything (tools etc...)

My Droid (running NexFro 1.01 - about to install BB with NexFro in ~20 mins) has been automatically mounting my SD card to my PC since installing Froyo last Saturday. I didn't have this feature enabled before flashing to Froyo, and I've tried a few roms since Saturday and they all have this feature auto-enabled.
This normally wouldn't be an issue, but this week I have been traveling with my job and I have been using tethering quite a bit, and would like to be able to charge my phone from my laptop without mounting my SD card every time.
Is there a way to disable this feature? Also I'm not sure that it is a feature at this point, as I haven't seen any other forum posts about this one any of the Android forums and I can't be the only person who doesn't want this feature enabled by default.
I have been trying to root my phone and install the new 2.1 update but when i mount my whone the sd card does not shpw up something does but its alot of apps and pics and other stuff. could someone please give me the instructions for windows vesta and mak it barney style not real good with the tec stuff new to it all.

The "droid" audio that i had is gone and i see no way to enable it.Any one expierence this or have a fix? In 2.1 there was a sd mount option in the sound settings but that seems to be gone now.

I have run backups with sprecovry, but the next time I go into sp recovery and attempt backup it says sd card corrupt, giving me the error #31. I haven't connected to my computer since the last time I formatted and the only thing other than a charger I have connected is the droid dock. I can't figure out what could cause this issue.

I receive an error from windows saying 'USB Device Not Recognized'. It lists it as an unknown device and will not mount the SD card. Ive tried restarting both the phone and computer to no availer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert the USB cable, I can go to notifications and mount the SD card so I can transfer files to and from my PC. This all works fine. Lets say I am all done with the connection to my PC so I want to disconnect the USB cable. I go to notifications and select "turn off USB storage". I get the message that I need to "unmount the host". So I go to settings and unmount the SD card, go back to notifications and turn off usb storage. Done, all this works fine too. Later in the day, I want to browse some videos and picture that are located on my SD card. I get the message "SD card unmounted". No problem, I will just go to setting and mount it? However, not mount option exists in settings. The only way I can mount the SD card after it has been unmounted, is to insert a USB cable, go to notifications and select mount, or to power off my phone and then power it back on.

I just bought the Droid X Car Mount and I can now use my Garmin beanbag with it by inserting the ball joint into the back of Droid X car mount - fit's perfectly.

I was rooted and decided to unroot for giggles. After i did I went to root again and now I am getting this: "E: cant open/cache/recovery,command " When I reboot into recovery mode.

I used SMupdater and it went fine. now when I try ot root again I get a "can't open cache/recovery/command" error in recovery and it wont let me select any of the options by hitting the camera button. idk what to do
View 2 Replies View RelatedI hit the top button. Flash Clockworkmod recovery or what ever it said. I then backed up my Current ROM. I then downloaded Cyanogen v6.0.0 cr2. It downloaded and rebooted my phone. But It went to a screen with a Triangle w/ exclamation and a phone under it. I then hit the up vol button and camera, and now I'm at the Android system recovery page and I don't know what to do next. These are my options reboot system now apply sdcard:update.zip wipe data/factory rest wipe cache partition wipe base band data. I did click to backup current ROM and wipe data and cache.
View 38 Replies View RelatedFirst off let me say that I was wrong about this issue. Its not an issue with Easy root it is just something built into android. So I apologize to anyone I argued this subject with but specifically Patch. Its also not an issue with rom manager. This applys to users that after flashing a custom recovery they can boot into it once but the next time you try to boot into recovery it has reverted to stock.
This mostly happens to users of easy root or users that use my guide for rooting using Linux
So for the fix.
Download this file and place it in the root of your sd card.

Download Terminal Emulator from the market. The one by the dev Jack Palevich.
Open it and type the following commands.
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/install-recovery.sh of=/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
sync
after that just flash the custom recovery of your choice and you should be good to go.
I tested this on my phone and another user tested it for me and it worked for both of us. If anyone has an issue let me know. This issue is so sporadic that its hard to have people test the fix.
After powering on my phone this morning(I charge my phone off to bump charge my 2100 battery ) I tried to play a podcast on Google listen and noticed my phone said there was no SD card. I tried everything. Rebooted several times and I even booted into recovery. I got weird screen, triangle with an exclamation! So I rebooted back into current Rom(Ruby1.1). So I finally bit the bullet and decided to reformat the SD card (through the phone) and it still doesn't work! I don't have access to a computer but it looks like my SD card is toast. This card is a 8gig scan disk that came with my old BB Storm. Luckily the 2 gig SD that came with my incredible has a nandroid back-up, but its a 2.1 back-up. Not sure if it matters but I do have an extra backup. When I get a home I'll get another SD and do so backups. Just thought I le you guys know to tell everyone to make extra backups!
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I somehow killed my 2GB SD card last week (accidentally unplugged from the laptop while it was writing data- wasn't recognized as existing by my phone or laptop after that) and just got a 4GB card today. I formatted it (FAT32) before trying anything, then copied my files back from my laptop onto the card and ran a new Titanium Backup batch thingie. Everything was fine, and I was going to go create a new backup file through Clockwork Mod so I could flash a new ROM on there and I get this message.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have not long bought my first tablet - its an ly-f1 / alldro speed etc clone. It came with android 4.0.4 and was already rooted. Play store access isn't bad for standard, i have found most things i have looked for, although some say device is not compatible - for example the speedtest.net app and itv player. There's some it cant find either like grand theft auto 3 for example.
The performance for the tablet is ok but i understand a custom rom could improve it and also give better play store access/compatibility. So i started looking at what roms were available, i found troys CM9 and CM10, so wanted to try CM9 first. This is where i started running into problems. Mainly finding everything i needed - CMW, ADB drivers etc.. oh and mounting the sdcard! as below..
I managed to find CMW 6 for the ly-f1, which i copied across onto the tablet and ran using a shell to install it. I copied across the CM9, compatibility and gapps zip files to the internal sdcard. So far so good, however.....
when i rebooted into CMW and went to "install zip from sdcard" then "choose zip from internal sdcard" it comes up saying "cant mount /emmc/"
If i try "choose zip from sdcard" rather than internal sdcard, it says "cant mount /sdcard" - to be expected as i dont have one in it! but i cant figure out why the internal one doesn't work.
When the tablet is on i can get into the internal sdcard fine and if i connect it to the pc i can see it fine. I've looked around google and the forums and tried a few various things with no joy - for example i tried copying everything off the internal sdcard and formatting it - done this through the android setttings and through windows - both fat32 and ntfs just to see, none made any difference.
I then thought i'd try find another version of CMW in case it was that, i found a version 5 which is when i required the ADB drivers as it was a different method for installing it - got it installed and it rebooted into CMW but i had the exact same problem, still cant mount it, so i am still unable to flash to a new rom.
Is there another method i can use to flash the device? I know theres livesuite but not sure if this is suitable for CM9 since theres 3 zips that need installed? i cant understand why it cant mount the internal sdcard.
I am not able to mount my SDCARD using NPS. My phone does not has a CSC file and I understand that updates wont work. But everyone seems to be able to mount the SD card and copy files to it. I want to update to Galexo roms but not even able to mount my phone.I disabled the mass storage settings and enabled the debugging. I was able to flash the phone using Odin and also able install the recovery image from Galexo.
