HTC Droid Eris :: Text Message Notification Silence?
Feb 17, 2010Is there a way to silence the ring for a text message notification? I have a song set for it and it plays all the way through until I get to the message and I'd like to be able to silence it. I know I can silence the phone when I am getting a call by pressing the volume buttons on the side, but I can't figure out a way to silence the text ring notification.

Jan 14, 2010I have a work email pop3, is not a g mail account. Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.

Jan 20, 2010I set my email on each account to check email every 5 min and every 5 min it tell me i have new e mail when i check i have no new email the little icon at the top pops up saying i have new e mail . how do i set it up to let me know i have new e mail? and to keep it telling me i have new e mail and it is just e mail i have not opened.

Feb 16, 2010Over the past week or 2, several times now, I'll get a series of email notifications (sometimes as many as 10 or so, a few seconds apart), but then there won't be any messages. I'll check later, but still nothing.
I have a POP, gmail and an exchange account.
I'll also sometimes have POP email keep coming back, sometimes 5+ times, after deleting it every time. It may be 30 minutes later, or hours later.

Jul 16, 2010I got the X synced with my Exchange server just fine. The problem is that I'm not getting a notification whenever I get a new email. I have to go into the Email app to see if anythings come through. I have it set to give me an audible alert and that's not working either. This will be a real deal breaker if I can't get it fixed.

Nov 9, 2009Not sure if this is a Droid-specific question, but here goes. Right now I have the device set to alert me when it gets, say, an email. The problem is, it will only alert me to the first email, and if I do not check it, it will not alert me for subsequent emails. While I realize the rationale behind this, I really like how my BB tells me every time I get an email. Anyone have an idea on how to enable this?

Jun 27, 2010so i am using the stock android email app and recently whenever i delete an email and exit from the application i get a notification that i have a new email, but when i go back into the email application there is no new email. i have tested it out and say i delete 3 emails, i will receive a notification saying that i have 3 new emails. the notification will always show the number of emails i have just deleted even though there are no new emails. the emails do not reappear like other people have problems with. i think my phones just playin mind games with me
just wondering if anyone else had this issue and if k9 email could fix this.
ps: it is an aol email account, if that matters
Motorola Droid X : Way To Show On Notification Bar - When Get A New Email
Oct 15, 2010When you get a new email, is there a way to show on the notification bar that you have a "New Email" WITHOUT showing a preview of it? The reason I ask is because I use App Protector to make my email private but it still shows a brief preview when a new email arrives. I still want to be notified when there is a new email and have the blinking notification light. I thought about asking here before emailing the developer for that particular app.

Dec 9, 2009When I get a new email on gmail, I pull down the notification drop down, select the email then view the email, and out of habit or ease of use, I hit the home button ...because it just makes sense that if I don't need to respond that I want to go back to the home screen directly. Why in the hell does the stupid notification not go away until I check the email 2 times.the only way the notification goes away is if when I select the email to check, I have to hit the back button which takes me back to the email list then either hit back again or home.

(I guess more realistically - as soon as it's started and Matt is able to get the thread updated - but I've got faith in 'ol Matt!) You do have to be a member there to subscribe.

Motorola Droid :: Cannot Turn Off Email Notification Sound?
Aug 3, 2010I use my verizon email on my droid, and would like to know how to turn off the notification sound. It will tell me that I have new email; if I don't read or delete all the new ones, it will keep reminding me every minute or so. Is there a way to turn of this notification sound? Sep 28, 2010Its not really a problem then an annoyance..does anyone know how I can make it so that when I receive a txt or an email and I open it in another way then the notification bar that my droid notification led will stop blink and the notifications will disappear from the disappearing notification bar? I'm just try to stop the fact that I have to go into LPP settings, make my bar re-appear, erase notifications, then make it so the bar disappears again.

Oct 6, 2010This seems to be because of 2.2, it didn't do it before the update. I have it set to "face book pop" but after awhile it goes back to "droid". It's not that big a deal but it sure is annoying. That "droid" tone was neat for like five minutes then got on my nerves so I changed to the more subdued noise. I wonder if anyone else is having this issue or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Nov 18, 2009I have a question regarding the mail feature of the Droid. I have three accounts setup. One Gmail, one Yahoo and one Hotmail (yep...I like all flavors).
I can send and receive mail without issue but for some reason with the Yahoo and the Hotmail account, the Droid will seem to pull "old" email back onto the device and mark it as new and light up the indicator. This gives then shows that I have new mail but it really isn't new but it is old, previously read email that has been deleted and pulled back onto the device.

The problem is that if I go back into the settings it defaults back to the "Droid" tone and does not keep the one I want.

Jul 22, 2010I used to have a BB Tour. I could set it up to turn off notifications for email and text messages when I had the phone plugged in. The phone would still ring. I am looking for an app for my HTC Incredible that I could do basically the same thing. I would like to set the phone up so when I'm sleeping the notifications for SMS/MMS and EMAIL messages are muted, but the ringer for the phone is still active. Does anyone know of such an app or setting to do this?

Nov 12, 2009I have a few gmail accounts on my Droid and that work fine, but my msn email that I added has a problem. If I get messages and don't open them, then 15 minutes later I get a notification of new mail, but when I check there's nothing new. So then I tried marking messages read to prevent this but some of the messages revert to unread on their own then renotify me as if I have new messages. So I either have to open them or delete them to stop getting false notifications.
Anyone else have this issue, any settings I can change that will fix this? Nobody has access to this email account except me so I know it's not a matter of someone marking unread from the desktop.
