This home screen randomly shows up on my wife's droid. anyone see this?
it looks functional, but it isn't. her's is a vanilla 2.0.1 droid with no 3rd party UI.

I have two email accts set up but only the default email account shows on my home screen. How can i have both show up?

Is there any way to disable the screen that shows all the 7 screens after tapping the home screen? If not disable get rid of it all together.
Or maybe an app to do so?
My girlfriend and I both got Droid 2's on launch day and she has been having an issue today that she called me to complain about but I haven't seen it happen yet myself. I am hoping someone can help with my description of it, if not I will come back later with a more thorough description. Basically what she said is happening is randomly every time she tries to unlock the phone to read a text message or something a notification pops up and says something like you are connecting to the home/multimedia dock and then the dock pulls up. She closes it and then it wants to open itself up again. Has anyone else had this happen and know what causes it or how to fix it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else been experiencing this. Sometimes when I click on the Home Screen button, it doesn't always go to the home screen, it might go to the screen to the right or left of it.
also sometimes when I lock the phone and then when I unlock it, it doesn't always go to the home screen. it might jump around.
Sometimes when I hit the home screen or down error right above it, the desk clock appears.
this is all very strange, just wondering what all of your thoughts are. Could it be a particular app that I downloaded.
I have it set up update hourly, and it will show it to be sunny, even until 8PM sometimes 9PM.It's not exactly sunny at that time of day, I'd more expect to see the moon by that time of evening.Is this just weird, or is it just using the "official" sunset time of 8 something and calling it sunny until then? I'm a very new Hero user.I'm within my 30 days, and very tempted to take my Hero back and get a Evo, but, don't want to spend the extra $$ for the Evo, and don't need the extra monthly expense either!

View 4 Replies View RelatedAccording to previous screen shots before buying evo yesterday, the home screen gmail envelope has a green circle with # of unread messages but while testing out and sending multiple messages from my desktop to myself, it just shows in the task bar and not on the gmail envelope. Am I missing something her?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHey everyone, I'm sort of new to this but I figured I'd give it a shot to see if anyone might have an answer.
This happens fairly frequently actually, but I'll be in an app (any app - it's not really particular) and sometimes it'll just randomly shut me out of it and return to the home screen. As it does this, the home button blinks and vibrates incessantly until I hold down on it - at which point it brings up a sort of mini-list of six apps (the last six apps I've opened, I suppose). Once I clear out of that list, then the phone resumes working normally.
I initially thought it had something to do with the memory and running too many apps at once, so I downloaded Advance Task Killer and run that occasionally...only to find the same problem occurring, sometimes RIGHT after I kill all the apps.
Has anyone else had this happen? Can anyone help me out?
My phone would be in my pocket, but if I were to take it out and check my mail, the screen would be blank. I would see the wallpaper and the 3 icons on the bottom of the screen (phone, application drawer, and contacts). It'd lag for a bit before things show up. When I say lag, I mean a pretty significant lag.
View 7 Replies View RelatedRunning 2.2 from OTA when I take the phone out of a dock (Multimedia or car), the home screen has to rebuild it self. Meaning all the icons are slow to come back. think of it as on a windows machine Explorer dies and you have to do a start/run/explorer to get it back. Only difference i that this is automatic, just slow to get responsive again. Even swipping through the screen is slow at first. Is froyo, google's VISTA?

After I set the picture or whatever and crop it, I return to the home screen and the Colorful Bubble HTC Wallpaper always shows up instead, only the live wallpaper really works all the time. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Moto Droid since it basically came out last Nov and I have never ever run into a problem with the phone until last night. I had a phone call and after I got off the phone, I noticed my droid reseted itself and it wasn't going back to the home screen. Meaning it would just display the word "Droid" then go right into the droid red eye screen, then right back to the word Droid and just kept repeating itself.
I took the battery out and put it back in, but it kept doing the same thing. I am really not sure what would cause my phone to do this, but the only new change I can think of was that I installed the "TMZ" application to my droid about 3 hours prior to this happening. But the application worked fine and I really hope it wasn't because of that. Is there anything I can do before going to Verizon? I would really hate giving up my phone with all my stuff in it, but I know theres probably not much I can do if I cant even get to the home screen.
This is hard to explain, but all the videos i show for the droid x shows that when you finger scroll through screen left to right and you get that little thing that pops up on the bottom where you can tap the dots to take you to certain home screens.in that same video i see that the phone arrow for apps and contacts icons move out of site while the dots pop up. until you let go then the navigation dots dissapear and the phone arrow for all apps and contacts icons slide back up.The same thing for deleting an app, when i see someone in the droid x video tap and hold and drag down to bottom to delete the phone, contacts and all apps moves out of the way.

Im connected to a wireless network on both and signed in to google on all 3. Is this why? Does it work the opposite where things written on the phone show up on the computers? I find this invasive if i want to search something in private but it shows on my work pc?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen at the home screen and then moving two screens to the right I get to what looks to be some type of image player in the middle and it has the Media Share, Blockbuster, Camcorder, and Gallery at the bottom.
While playing around with the camera I just took some random photos of junk and have since deleted them. But now in the middle of the screen I still see what seems to be the last image I took. Yet the file isn't actually on the phone or card. The round button in the middle (with the square around the 'play' icon) is selected but red (when I touch it it turns green and used to scroll through the photos before I deleted them).
How do I get this ugly blurry test image out of this screen and back to the way it was before?
so been rooted for quite some time now, got my droid out of my pocket and its just a blank screen.Tried multiple battery pulls, memory card pulls, boots into recovery, nothing will get it to reboot again. its essentially bricked.I wasn't flashing anything battery was just charged, everythign was fine, 800mhz kernel.Now my question is can I return this phone to the Verizon store and still be under warranty, I've had the phone the day it came out with no problems.I think the screen just went out, I can still move the buttons on the screen even when they don't show, and I can also lock the phone with the lock button. Still will I be okay returning this on warranty with the screen out and rooted?

I have full reception at my house and this never happened with my old phone. Should i exchange my phone? or is this something that will be fixed in an update?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm on the stock rooted frg22d rom because of complications earlier and for some reason my phone randomly rebooted. I though nothing of it. But now when I rebooted. I only have 2 apps for some reason, Paper toss and Redbox Codes FWIW. So I tried to load a nandroid and I can't get into recovery. It just stays on the M and if I let it sit there then it would get into a bootloop on a stock non-overclocked rom. So yeah. Oh and my sister took administrator from my account so I can't use RSD Lite to non root and root again.

Her brand new, out of the box DX forced closed within an hour of starting it up. It had done it a few times, when we swapped batteries. Now, mine (with her battery) just forced closed (mine hadn't done it previously).
View 3 Replies View RelatedSeems to be getting more frequent. At first it was just freezing and would sometimes return to a usable state while I was listening to music. In the past couple of days it has begun freezing completely when using gtalk or other messaging applications when I would go to enter text. Voice to Text hangs and then force close, but everything else freezes up. I hold down the power button and feel the vibration when the screen to choose what option comes up, but nothing on the screen changes. A minute later, it reboots. I haven't had to do a battery pull yet.
Droid is rooted and I have removed maybe 3 apps... I can't pinpoint an installation of something that maybe caused this to start. Anyone with similar issues? Any fix? Should I just try and swap it out? I have the newest update...
Today I got a text, opened it up, and all I got was an empty list of all my messaging threads. Everything was erased. Does anyone know why this would happen, and if there is any way to recover the texts?

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my Droid has decided to randomly start silencing itself. I can't figure out why and when I called VZW they had me do a hard reset...this did not solve the problem. I have apps Audio Manager and Screen Lock...I'm not sure if either of those could be a problem. I also use beautiful widget toggles. I have looked at the settings and that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy
