View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there an easy way to highlight text when browsing a web page or any type of text for that matter when it is not inside a text box? so my my next question would what the copy and paste options are on the DX.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFirst and foremost I want to be able to use the magnifying glass to relocate my cursor whenever I'm mid-text and realize that I've made a mistake while typing. Sure, I can just take a stab at the screen and hope I get it in the right place with one touch, but sometimes that doesn't work. For example: at the edge of the text box, next to the "send" button (landscape mode). I don't really like having to poke at the small space between the last word in my message and the send button after I've gone back to correct a letter or two. I've missed and hit "send" before. That's no good.
On rare occasions I can get the magnifying glass to come up, but it's usually a game of chance for me. If I hold my finger down on the screen to bring it up, a menu pops up. How can I bring up the magnifying glass a la iPod Touch for sifting through my messages?
After that, how do I highlight text for copying and pasting purposes?
In Bluetooth application I am noticing it is displaying multiple icons not number. I updated number of notification object, then it was displaying number and but also multiple icons.how to disable this multiple icons?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Android App has 2 activities. A login screen and a search screen. When i deploy the app on emulator or on my device, i see 2 icons for same app. When i click on icon 1 it opens screen 1 (login screen) and When i click on icon 2 it opens screen 2 (search screen). By logic when i login it should show the search screen. Not sure when i'm making the mistake, would be of help if some one can point me in right direction.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an application with two activities and I'd like to be able to have two icons appear in the launcher, each launching the respective activity within the app.Specifically, I want one icon to launch my main app, and another icon to launch my settings activity. Is this possible? This creates two launcher icons, but they both run my main app instead of the second icon running my settings app. I've tried just having the launcher category but then I don't get an icon so it looks like I need the main action as well.Is this the right approach or should I be declaring two applications in the manifest instead?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a single Android application that houses a suite of applications. I want each application to install with its own launcher icon, so I have a few activities with the same intent filter. It works just fine if I close out of an application using the back button. Each launcher icon starts a different activity. However, if I simply send the application into the background using the home button and then try to start a different activity, the one I put into the background is brought to the foreground instead of the correct activity starting. Can I make the multiple icons work or do I need to create a central activity as a way to start all the sub-applications?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am developing an android app w/ Eclipse.Whenever I run the app on my phone or the emulator, four application icons are installed on the device.I am guessing it is related to my manifest file which has three activities (3 are for tabs). When I uninstall the app, all of the icons are removed from the phone.Upon a reinstall, all four show back up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt's broken up into 3 Parts: Dock Icons; Home Screen Icons and Label/Group Home Screen Icons. You can find the instructions for Home Screen Icons and Label/Group Icons further down the page.
Here is the link to download the little droid icons, I take no credit for them.

Custom Icons
Below you will find instructions on how to get custom icons onto your Droid X using LauncherPro. There is a different method depending on where or how the icon will be used.
There are 3 different classes of Icons: Dock Icons; Home Screen Icons and Label/Group Home Screen Icons. There are some apps that will be needed, I'm sure there are other apps that will work but I will be using these for the instructions: ASTRO File Manager; AppsOrganizer; and BetterCut.
See the bottom of each section for corresponding pics. The letter in brackets goes with the pic with the same letter.
Dock Icons
There are 2 methods for getting custom icons onto your Droid X dock depending on how you get the icons. The trick is getting the photo Gallery to see the icons. If you are downloading and installing an icon pack app from the Market continue to section 1. If you downloaded the icons to a computer and you're going to install them on the sdcard continue to section 2.
Section 1 - Installing Market Icon Packs to Your Phone
1: Download and install the icon pack as you would any other app.
2: Open ASTRO and open the "dcim" folder(A) that is in the sdcard folder.
3: Press the "menu" button, "new folder"(B), "directory"(C) then enter a name (I'm using ICONZ) then press "create"(D). You should then see an ICONZ folder below the camera folder.
4: Press the menu button again and select "tools"(E), "Application Manager/Backup"(F), then select the app that contains your icons and press "backup"(G).
5: Press the "back" button twice and you should see a "backups" folder(H), open it, then select "apps", select your icon pack, then "browse file"(I), then the "assets" folder, then long press on the "icons" folder, select "edit"(J), then "copy"(K).
6: Press the "back" button 4 times (or press "home"(L) once on the top of ASTRO) and you should be back at the screen containing the backups, dcim and several other folders that are on the sdcard. Open the "dcim"(M) folder, then open your "ICONZ" folder, press the "menu" button, "edit"(N) then "paste"(O). You should then have an "icons" folder which is in your "ICONZ" folder. Press "home" and continue to section 3.
Section 2. - Installing Icons From a Computer to a Phone
(This is pretty basic so I won't be posting pics)
1: Download the icon pack to your computer.
2: Plug your Droid X into the computer with the USB cable.
3: Select "USB Mass Storage" on your phone when USB connection pops up, press "OK".
4: When the "AutoPlay" pops up on your computer select "open folder to view files", then open the "dcim" folder and create an "ICONZ" folder.
5: Copy your downloaded icons from the computer to the "ICONZ" folder, then "safely remove hardware". You can now unplug your phone.
Section 3. - Placing Icons in The Dock
1. Long press on the dock icon that you want to change(P) and select one of the Shortcuts listed or press Applications and choose from one of your Apps, I'll use "Dialer" or phone as an example.(Q)
2. Once you've selected the app or shortcut press "Custom Icon"(R), then the Gallery should open. Select "folders(S)" and then select your "icons" folder(T). Next you will see all of your icons listed, select the icon you want (U) and it should appear on the dock..
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to change the rest of the dock icons.
Instead, they are replaced by a generic green "Droid" icon. These are apps that are newly downloaded, and some that I've had for a long time. It's only a few of them, and it isn't a random thing- They stay that way, and the others still show up. I don't know if this is a Sweeter Home II issue, or a Sholes 2.0.1 ROM issue, or something that's up with these particular apps. In SWII, I do have the icons resized to about 75% of their original size. But even in the "Manage Applications" list, where they are all stock sized icons, they behave the same way. I've unloaded & reloaded apps to no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been doing a LOT of trying different ROMs and themes, and want to get in to a bit of designing myself. The actual icon designing I can do. What I need to know is the best way to implement it.I'm referring to the icons for specific apps (i.e. Market, Gmail, etc.). I was thinking I could open the .apk and replace the files that way, but that would mean an update for the app would un-do my work, right?I know there are apps out there that replace the launcher that allow you to change icons, but from what I remember, they are normally buggy. Has this changed? So, what is everyone's opinion on the BEST way to replace icons?
