Motorola Droid :: High-res HTC Ime
Feb 21, 2010A high-res version of the HTC_ime has been released. It works well on the Droid and N1.
Voice input works as well.
Still kind of buggy in landscape mode.

Just installed sholes 2.0.6 and temp monitor for my cpu temp. I am fairly new to the overclocking world and don't want to mess anything up. What are some good temps to be seeing running at 1 Ghz and at what temp should I stop what I'm doing and let things cool down?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've used Mabilo and AndroLib wallpaper apps on my phone but notice that all of the wallpapers I download become a bit grainy when I use them as a background.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a very high res wallpaper app? I woulnd't mind dropping a little change in the developers pocket as long as it is a quality app.
This is not a battery life thread, in short all I wish to know is whether the Droid X battery (which stupidly only reads in 10% intervals) is reported higher or lower than its actual value?
For example, when it is at 70% reported, is it at 79% (or lower)? Or is it at 61% or higher? Obviously logic says it rounds down so it is always showing battery levels lower than it actually is (which is good because your battery is always higher than what it tells you), but it is also plausible that it ticks down (to 70%) when it actually hits 70%, then stays there until it gets down to 60%.
Not really a support question but its something I've been wondering, I assume it is the former as that makes the most sense from both a mathematical standpoint and a logical standpoint (show less battery than you really have left and you will not run out of battery when the phone goes into its battery reserve state).
Is there something I'm missing? Is there a way to set YouTube to always show videos in high quality without me always having to hit menu, show in high quality for each and every video I want to view?

The difference in graphics and game play between the Apple App Store and the Android market is huge. Is it a limitation of other android devices? From what Ive read the Droid has the same (or similar) processor as the iPhone 3GS. I am playing games on the 2nd Gen iPod Touch which has a slower processor and it performs flawlessly. I am not an apple fan boy and have never owned a iPhone. I love my Droid and want to be able to hand my touch to my wife and forget about it. Will the Droid ever get any high quality gaming apps?
View 17 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Bugless Beast v1.1 @ 1Ghz. I've noticed that the memory available has dropped down to the 60's and 70's when I wipe everything. Bugless Beast is fine, whether I have 40 memory or 60. On Stock 2.1, it would go up to 130 Max. So what's up? Why is my available memory so low?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWell recently, its been getting REALLY hot here in New York. And with it, my battery temperature has been idling in the 30-35 range, higher in my pocket, and therefore its been at 40 constantly. I've done nothing today with it besides maybe 15 minutes of music via headphones total, and I'm getting like 17 hour battery life. I used to get this while spamming apps, playing around, browsing, etc. Does temperature increase battery use or is it time to switch ROMs (Petes 0.8 has been a battery drain on me).
View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I rooted and installed the new Bugles Beast. While using the wifi tether app today, I noticed my processor getting fairly warm. Concerned, I downloaded TempMonitor. Without any overclocking at all, my processor was consistently running at around 44*C/111*F. The battery temperature hovers around 27-38*C.
Why does my phone run so hot? Should I be worried? Some people have said the processor in the droid can handle temps approaching 100*C (!!!), is this correct?
Does anyone else here a faint, high-pitched tone/hum during phonecalls? Its quite annoying, now that I've noticed it. Sometimes it slowly and steadily increases in pitch. Is this a defect?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI bought one of the new high capacity Droid 2 batteries. I took it off of the charger shortly after 6 am yesterday. It reached 20% capacity around noon today. While not heavily utilized, it was on for the entire time and active most of the day yesterday for texting and internet browsing as well as some light gaming. I'd say that battery was $ very well spent.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a new android user, and got my Droid 2 the morning they came out at the Verizon store. Now the guy that was helping me at the store told me that the battery life would be bad because of the high resolution screen but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I have been having really bad battery issues and I don't even use it constantly. I have it on around 20% brightness during the day, and I really only send text messages, and some web browsing but not a huge amount. My battery will be drained after 6 hours or so, and will need a charge again. When checking on battery manager it does say that most of my energy is going to my screen, but like I said I don't even have it close to the full brightness. I have been using an app killer program to try to maintain that also, but I did read somewhere that it can actually hurt your battery more, from closing and opening apps. Just wanted to hear some feedback from other users since we a couple days after launch. Everything else has been great with this phone, and I am REALLY enjoying the android OS after switching from a Blackberry.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently started using pdanet when my high speed internet connection at home was having issues. Oddly i found it to be very fast and work pretty flawlessly from my droid. My question is during the summer i have a 2nd home which has no option for high speed connections, but does get 3g Verizon. I mostly would use my laptop for reading emails and teaching online classes through my college. Has anyone on Verizon ever had issues using bandwidth through a tethered device as i described? I know there is this on going battle of whether our unlimited plans are truly unlimited or not. I would not use massive loads of data but i do not want to incur problems with my service either. Love to hear your opinions.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I make a call there is a short, odd ring-tone that occurs just after I press Dial and before the normal ringing sound begins to indicate the call is going through.
It's about 1/2 second long, can be quite loud sometimes, and is kind of high-pitched....sorry, it's hard to describe. The tone modulates up and down quite fast - da-dum-da-dum-dum (if you can imagine).
I tried re-programming the phone, and also updating roaming, and it's still there every time I make a call. I haven't made any changes to call settings to speak of...never had this on my D1.
My speaker buzzes all the time on my phone (not the speaker phone - it works fine). It's not a network buzz, it's a vibration buzz of the metal or speaker. The center camera is also off-center a little bit, which makes me think something up there is off-center, misglued or loose.
We have two other evos and neither of them buzz on the same call. I called the Sprint Nav Voice Address thing from all 3 phones since that would be the exact same voice and words every time. Only mine buzzes. The other two don't have the camera problem either.
I've noticed a few people have complained about high standby data usage.. ie when you leave the phone on a desk, with nothing streaming, you still manage to use up 1-2mb per hour (as I was!). This is a big problem for people moving from something like a blackberry where it was hard to use up a lot of data even if you tried.I tried disabling as much as possible to see what was causing the problem (NetSentry was great for tracking usage but of course can't tell you which programs/services are using it up), and after exhausting all ideas I tried deleting the two non-GMail email accounts I had. On was set up as push Exchange, and the other a 15-minute polling POP account. I have to assume it was the Exchange that was the problem, but I can't be sure. In any case, my usage dropped from about 4MB over 3 hours to about 12kB for the last 3 hours since I disabled the accounts. In conclusion, email can be more of a problem than you think! I'm going to forward my other accounts through my GMail to see if that works better.
View 43 Replies View RelatedIn the end, is there an application that really is speed dial for Android, like the traditional way, and that it doesn't have any lag in it? And which would have larger contact icons in high quality photos? I am using QuickDial but i am frustrated by the time it has to load every time i click it, and thus is not as "quick" as it says.
