In the end, is there an application that really is speed dial for Android, like the traditional way, and that it doesn't have any lag in it? And which would have larger contact icons in high quality photos? I am using QuickDial but i am frustrated by the time it has to load every time i click it, and thus is not as "quick" as it says.

I'm not sure if this is a droid thing or a software thing, so I'll post here first.
Does anyone know of a way to get a larger contact photo to show up when they call you (or you call them)? That tiny little icon image is just annoying to me. I want it to fill up more of the screen.
Ok so I have my first Smartphone, a Samsung Fascinate, and I simply love it. One thing that I REALLY like is the sync of facebook and twitter to my contacts. I like the fact that it syncs their photos and status and such, especially since I'm a facebook/twitter dork. My only problem is that the synced photos both in the contacts page and my "buddies now" widget are EXTREMELY low quality. Is there any way to get the higher quality photos to show up in those programs? Its not a deal breaker, although it does look a little nasty when the rest of the phone is so sharp.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk I've got a lot of contacts without photos, when putting them in a favorite widget they all look the same. In my old Palm Century I could assign not just pictures, but Icons to people from various icon packs... there by making each person distinguished.
I wondered if anyone saw such an app for Android, or knows of a collection of basic HeadShot graphics I can use as JPEGs and throw on the SD card.
I can do this myself if I really want to hunt down an icon pack and extract everything.. but figured I'd ask if someone's seen something like this already first.
When i take a photo in the dark just using the flash with a close up photo of an object. Half sometimes 3/4 of the screen is black, i have a feeling its and app because i sent it back to motorola and the re-flashed the phone, it was working fine until i restored all my apps using "my backup pro" and now i have the same problem as before.I need to find out which app is causing the problem.I also find that the camera doesnt work at full flash capacity because when i press the camera button to focus the testing flash is alot brighter than the flash it uses to take the actual photo.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEmulators are fun and all but, I have just been playing Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. on my iPod Touch and nothing in the android market can touch it. The difference in graphics and game play between the Apple App Store and the Android market is huge. Is it a limitation of other android devices? From what Ive read the Droid has the same (or similar) processor as the iPhone 3GS. I am playing games on the 2nd Gen iPod Touch which has a slower processor and it performs flawlessly. I am not an apple fan boy and have never owned a iPhone. I love my Droid and want to be able to hand my touch to my wife and forget about it. Will the Droid ever get any high quality gaming apps?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed a few people have complained about high standby data usage.. ie when you leave the phone on a desk, with nothing streaming, you still manage to use up 1-2mb per hour (as I was!). This is a big problem for people moving from something like a blackberry where it was hard to use up a lot of data even if you tried.I tried disabling as much as possible to see what was causing the problem (NetSentry was great for tracking usage but of course can't tell you which programs/services are using it up), and after exhausting all ideas I tried deleting the two non-GMail email accounts I had. On was set up as push Exchange, and the other a 15-minute polling POP account. I have to assume it was the Exchange that was the problem, but I can't be sure. In any case, my usage dropped from about 4MB over 3 hours to about 12kB for the last 3 hours since I disabled the accounts.In conclusion, email can be more of a problem than you think! I'm going to forward my other accounts through my GMail to see if that works better.

After uploading several pics to "my T-mobile album" and after emailing them to myself, I notice the pictures are pretty small, 480x360.. no where near what I expected from 5 megapixels (and yes, I have the option set at 5mp). What can I do to take larger sized pictures?
Possibly unrelated, I use the stock USB cable to plug in the phone. The phone will charge, but my Macbook does not recognize anything as being plugged in, so I cannot manually browse around to upload my photos. What gives?
Has anyone noticed how the video quality such as on you tube is really bad compared to the I-phone even though the Desire's supposed to have more higher resolution? My bro's got the I-phone and I tested the desire with his phone. Went into certain you tube videos, using same wi-fi connection in same room etc etc and also tried using 3G (both on t-mob) and still his video quality on I-phone was miles better and clearer!

On my iphone I had jailbroke it and was able to get an app to fool the phone into thinking it was on wifi when using the network data. This resulted in high quality youtube playback like when in wifi at home. Is there an app or a way to get the same thing on the android OS? Been looking around and have yet to find something. On another note. I have two gmail accounts set up on my hero and only get the proper push with one of them. Is this common?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI forgot my HD Camcorder and so used my phone's camcorder. And that is when I noticed the quality is horrible compared to video shot under 1.5. Video shot under 1.5 is not blocky at all and is clear. Under 2.1 it is blocky and poor. Anyone else with this issue and is there a fix in case I need to use it again? I do have it set on HIGH quality in the menu.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIve got a really annoying bug with a contact on my phone using the default SMS app. I can text him no problem, but if he sends me a message and I try and reply I get a text from my carrier T-Mobile UK saying the number I am sending to is incorrect because it is missing the +.
For example say the contacts number is +4412345678 it is stored in my phonebook as "+4412345678". But when I reply the SMS client sends it to "4412345678" which is not correct as it is missing the +
If I change the contacts number to 0712345678 when I reply it still fails as it tries to send the text to 712345678.
Its totally random and confusing it also missed out the first number or +. I have tried deleting the contact all together but even then when repying it always forgets to put the "+". Its only the default SMS client which does this and it only happens with one contact. If I use Handcent it works ok but I would prefer to use the default client if possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI love my Evo 4g but I have to say it lacks in sound quality. Phone calls get distorted if the volume is set too high. It sounds bad like the speaker is blown, I wonder if this is an actual defect or if it can be fixed with a software update. I also use Pandora and mp3 player and when I use my 3.5 mm to cassette adapter in my car the low/mid range frequencies are hollow sounding. I use many other devices in my car (ipod,laptop,Samsung mp3 etc.) And none sound like this. I've also plugged directly into home surround system and bose inner ear head phones and noticed this. I hope they can fix this with a OTA update .....
