Usually people with problems are the the ones who post the most. I did not experance any problems after I forced the update. I was wondering of all who did not wait and forced the update. How many have problems Vs Don't?

I am getting a forced close error everytime I try to remove the HTC Messaging widget from one of my screens. I tap and hold down on the widget to select it so I can move it to the "remove" button at the bottom of the screen. Well when I tap and hold I get a forced error close message. Any ideas what I need to do to correct this issue. I'm using the original messaging app, and only have 3 other non related apps downloaded.

View 10 Replies View RelatedBefore my current setup I was using CyanogenMod and their custom version of LauncherPro. It had been updated with new icons, which were similar in shape to the defaults, but had much more detail and color/shading to give them a slight 3D effect.
Well, recently I switched to Dew's smoked glass ROM and was getting stuck in never ending loops with a message stating my current version of LauncherPro had "expired" and I had to finally remove it and DL the current app store version. Ok so thats fine, except its so boring now... function-wise its as awesome as ever but its just so BLAH.
I am looking for icon packs that I might be able to use with the new version of LP, but it seems none of them on the app store have preview images. I am trying to get it to look like this. If you know of a similar icon pack.
I have two quick questions.
If I forced the 2.0.1 update, will I still get the OTA Update for 2.1?
And the other, if I upgrade to 2.1, will the rooting procedure still work should I want to?
I plan to go to verizon later today to see what they say, but i anticipate little to no help from them... so i decided to post this here. i tried the forced update to the stock 2.2 a couple weeks ago to no avail... kept getting this error every time i tried:

Installation Aborted, so i decided to wait for the OTA update... had it waiting for me when i got up this morning... pressed install and let it go to work... came back 20 minutes later and it was still on the triangle w/ exclamation logo... so i let it sit longer... came back yet another 10 minutes later it was on the Motorola logo and just stayed there for about 5+ minutes (i let it sit for awhile to make sure it was done) so i took out the battery and restarted... and no update still "2.1 Update 1" now what do i do?
I got the OTA 2.2 a day or so ago. I have discovered the app "voice searce" I then downloaded the app in the market. I then viewed the short intro and then I tried it out It took a while and I had to ask for help on this forum but finally I got it to sort of working. I decided to send a test text to my wife so I tapped on the app and once it loaded I said "send text to xxxxxxxxx" (my wife's name) "This is a test" After it read my voice I got a screen that looked like this to: xxxxxxxxxxxx (my wife's name as listed on my contact list)
message:This is a test I then tapped on the send button and then Sorry The application Voice Search(process.com.google.android.voicesearch) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I had tried this over and over again and I always get the same message.
Last week I forced the OTA 2.2 for droid and now my phone is almost unusable. It was "kinda laggy" right after the update but now it is a 2 second delay just to get numbers to type in on the dial pad. It makes me wish I had waited.
I did notice that EVERYTHING is starting in the background when I look at my task killer. If I kill everything then it runs smooth for maybe 30 secs before everything starts back up again.
Is my slowness being caused by this or is there something else I can do to make is usable again. I am really hoping that FRG22 fixes this major problem for me as I loved my droid before but almost want to toss it out the window now.
Kills me waiting 5-10 secs for handcent to even startup.
If I forced FRG01B will i receive FRG22 OTA?

Have found it so far when I am going into setting to uninstall an app and in Sound Recorder.
I reset to factory settings and it was fine....reinstalled all my apps.
I think one of the apps is causing the issue but don't know which one.
Anyway I can find out - is there a trouble shooting app or something I can run in hidden commands?
Work pays for my phone and we are switching from Sprint to At&T. I just bought a Samsung Moment at the end of last year. I'm not real hip on getting an iPhone. It looks like I'm down to 2 choices: Nexus One and Motorola Backflip.So can you help me out here on pros and cons or what would work better for me? But once I connect to the same wireless network with adb and press the big button, it informs me I must 'run adb connect "followed by a bunch of numbers like 162.xxxxx.xxx.xxx.x.xxx:5555 or something" on my computer.'Where do I input this on the laptop, or is there another way to access the phone with this app on my computer?

Well, I began fooling around and I ALREADY caused a BIG PROBLEM!!
GOOD news is that I backed up and was able to recover using my Clockworkmod recovery option so I'm up and running.
Here's my problem...I installed Move2SD Enabler to free up some space on my phone and move apps to my SD card. I must have gotten a little overzealous and moved stuff I shouldn't have. I'm tried to be selective with what I moved but SOMETHING(s) I moved the phone apparently did not like.
What happened was I some shortcuts on my home screens yielded a message that the app "could not be found" or "was not installed." When I went to the app drawer, the apps I moved to the SD card were NOT showing up in the app drawer list. Then I launched "Manage Applications" the apps I moved on the SD card were listed but only with the package name (e.g., com.something.whatever) and with a generic dark-grey icon with a little "SD" in the bottom right corner. I could not launch any of the moved apps and also could not connect to the Market to reinstall!
Anyway, I fixed my problem with a Recovery.
What I want and feel I NEED to do now is to find All the apps I moved to the SD card and delete them so they do not cause a conflict (and, to just get them off my card).
Can someone tell me (1) where to find the apps I moved to the SD card?? and (2) how to find their location either using my computer (Mac) or Astro file manager so I can delete what I moved.
I am STABLE now and functioning with my backup...just what to get rid of the remnants that caused me problems!=
The speaker on the back has a support beneath it (where the speaker(s) would be), except in one area. Off center to the right there is a hollow area where it can be dented, which I found out the hard way. I just happened to look at it and notice this defect. Having never dropped mine, I have no idea what could have caused this other than something pressing on it in my pocket. Upon further inspection I found out that this area is in fact pliable, due to the lack of support behind it.Will be dropping by VZW on monday. Since I'm within my 30 days until jan. 3rd, I hope they replace it for me. It would really suck to have to pay my $89 deductible (or whatever it is) just for this, but I can't be showing off my Droid with a dented speaker

View 4 Replies View RelatedK my frustration level is definitely climbing.I've checked and don't see anything related to this specific issue.I'm following the step by step instructions on RootYourDroid. Have tried both the custom recovery image (adb shell is what's getting me that message) and the busybox instructions. Each time, in the adb window when I try either option I get an "error: device not found" After doing some research, I found info saying it likely had something to do with the debugging drivers. So I uninstalled them, reinstalled them and went through that whole process again. Tried both the busybox and custom recovery image steps. Still getting the error message.
Anyone have any experience with this issue that might be willing to sling some help my way?
I have been having this issue for quite some time, but just figures it was a bug in one of the BB roms I was using. Well, since then I have been through about 10 different versions of bugless beast, droid mod, and several others. My issue seems to be that when I make a phone call and put the phone next to my head, although the screen turns off, the touch is still activated.I will be in a call and I will feel the phone vibrate against my head. I usually hit the pound of star key on the phone, and as soon as buttons are pressed in a call, it seems to mute my voice to the person on the other side of the call. I have to remove the phone from my face, wait for the sensor to realize i moved my face, and have to press the backspace button till all the random characters are deleted at which point the person on the other side can hear me again. This happens to me on about 80% of my calls, and is by far the most frustrating issue I have had. Do you think I should re-install stock and bring it in? btw, I posted this in root sub-forum cause I am rooted, and wasn't sure if it was just a rom issue.

After it downloads, the installation fails with the message: "Package file was not signed correctly." I see comments from other Droid users that look as if theirs installed (although I am not certain that they are Motorola Droids).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm onto my 2nd Droid.The first one had the same battery cover issue as everyone appears to be talking about.very loose, comes off in your pocket, etc.Now the new one has an entirely different battery cover issue.one of the door prongs doesn't appear to "catch" on one of the holes on the back (top right hole, closest to the USB connector).The net result is that the door stays on, but this corner of the battery cover sticks out/up.Anyone have the same issue?Fixes?

So what happens is I dock in my car, then after a few minutes of everything working fine (viewable directions on map, and voice of lady giving the turn by turns), all of a sudden the map will go off, and show the prior screen (the screen where it lists the directions). I then have to press the "navigate" button again to get it to view the map again..its frustrating. By the way, the whole time the "voice" of the lady giving the turn by turns stil works, just the map with the driving directions illutrated goes off.Any one else have a problem? Dont know if it is related, but I did a hard reset of phone yesterday because of some other issues that it didnt help..(my blockbuster app ever since the update stopped working) Anyone else have this issue too? I was on phone with both verizon help, and motorola techs, and none of them knew how to help, nor had either of them heard of the issue so they say. Anyhoe, they did say I prolly could go back to store (since within 30 days of purchase) and get a new phone..but i feel like thats a bit drastic.
