I was trying to root my Motorola Cliq and I've been having trouble booting into recovery mode. Can somebody please explain how to boot my cliq into recovery mode?
i originally rooted my phone using the sprecovery method. i also loaded up chevyno1's 1100lv kernal that same way.i was told to use rom manager to load up a new ROM in order to make it easier on myself to go back to the stock ROM should i choose to.i installed rommanager, and applied the new rom. nothing happened. it didn't load, my phone rebooted normally. i tried manually going into recovery and nothing happens. the big "m" stays on there for a while, blinks and stays on there a bit longer. it will stay there as long as im holding "x" down.can i uninstall rom manager and fix this issue? any other way?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt would appear my phone does not want to reboot into clockwork recovery. Each time I use the bootstrapper to reboot into the recovery mode, it just sits on the M logo indefinitely. Any thoughts, or am I sol until the update is released that is to fix this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedDownload these three files and put them in the root of your sdcard. (You must have ADB on your computer)
File 1 : Download (rename to "update.zip")
File 2 : Download
File 3 : Download(Handler 1.5)
Step 1 : Boot into stock recovery (Camera+Power then select down) (press Alt + L to see options)and flash file one.
Step 2 : Load up ADB when the computer recognizes it type.

So I'm traveling next week to Mexico and don't want to get all the roaming charges so my question is does turning on WiFi mode turn off 3G and EDGE? Also, what does airplane mode exacly turn off? And is there anyway just to turn off the phone mode? My last Samsung phone was a smart phone and I had the option to just turn the phone off and not everything else.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having so much trouble but now I have gotten to the point where it tells me the upgrade went well and is done, but now when I try and get into recovery it just goes back to the Bootloader screen and won't boot into recovery even with the adb reboot recovery command.I tried to run the unrevoked again and it passed but when it does the last reboot to recovery is sits for a second the phone does nothing and then says done.I would have assumed it would have booted to the recovery console at that point?

If I am rooted and do a backup by booting into Clockwork recovery and do a backup, does that save everything on the internal memory of my phone/tablet?
I have searched all over and I am not clear if it includes stuff I copy (like music, pictures) or it is just the ROM, apps and app data.
It seems like you can only backup to the internal memory. What do you do if the backup gets too big to fit on there?
I just installed an app (Contact Owner) and once I rebooted my phone, I can never get back into the system.
That shall be the only harmful action that I had done, can I know if there's any way that I can boot into safe mode to uninstall that particular app?
Note:I read some links, including this. Some said, HOME + Power, some said MENU + Power. Am trying both now and see which is gonna work.Tried both, not working How long do I have to press on the buttons? Is the "Power" button the right most bottom button?
Last night, my phone was fine before I plugged it in to charge. This morning. No alarm went off. The screen was extremely jerky when I was trying to browse through music. And then random bits of screen were being "pressed" when I was tyring to do anything. Rebooted it, no change. Now the bottom cm or so of screen stops responding to ANY finger presses. Thus making it impossible for me to get into settings menu. But it IS responsive with the notification bar (ie you can drag it down near the bottom and jiggle it around the area which I can no longer press)I've got launcher pro, which updated last night automatically. So I have everything on its launcher bar, now I can't get to anything. (How do I create a shortcut to the list of all apps?).Now when I reboot the phone its in safe mode with sense and the bottom cm is still unresponsive.Getting a bit annoyed now as its making everything a bitch to do and I can't reinstall Froyo til I get home from work. Anyone had similar issues?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI think where I messed up was I then installed ROM Manager from the market to try to get overclocked. Before I did any searching or downloading for kernels, I tried to do a backup using ROM Managers Clockwork utility. It constantly crashed my phone; I didn't get one successful backup. So I was going to try using SPRecovery, but when I turn off my phone, then turn it on holding the X key, the Motorola logo stays there forever, blinks, and then reappears again. I have to release the X key for it to get passed the logo, but then it just boots normally.I've already uninstalled ROM Manager, but do I need to do anything different so I can use SPRecovery?I'm thinking my phone is confused as to which backup/recovery mode to launch.Did I just mess up my phone?I'm a total noob at this and feel like a moron.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI made two backups of ROMs by manually booting into recovery. Everything went smooth except that I made one on 11-21-10 and it's named as 11-22-10 and the other was made the next day on 11-22-10 and it's named and dated 11-23-10.
The date and time are showing correctly on my phone. This is not a big deal now that I'm aware of it, but was curious if anyone has experienced this and could shed some light on this?
My phone is not booting in clockworkmod recovery...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a generic LY-F1 Allwinner tablet which was working fine until a week ago. Now, however, it won't boot past the glowing Android screen. I've left it for five or six hours with no progress, so I guess the ROM is corrupted. Is there any other way to fix this other than flashing a new ROM?
However, the main problem with this tablet is that it does not automatically enter mass storage mode when plugged into a laptop, so I have no way to rescue my content. I can see the drives in Windows (one for the internal SD, one for the SD slot) but they are not usable (they result in an 'insert media' message)
Is there a way to force mass storage mode so that I can remove my data in preparation to reflash it? I'm sure I read of a command line method to get into the internal SD card? Or was I imagining it?
So I have stock android 2.1 installed on my phone. I haven't gotten the OTA update. I tried to manually update, but recovery mode doesn't seem like its working - I see the triangle/question mark but there is also a phone laying down right next to it. No combination of keys will get me to a menu to apply the update.zip. I tried flashing back to 2.01 and 2.0 and updating from there - but the recovery mode stayed the same. Does anyone know where to find the full Froyo stock .SBF files?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI rooted my android device with froyo yesterday. I installed the rom manager and its associated programs. Then I downloaded and installed the Cyanogen 6.0 mod. I was able to install the mod yesterday but I did not wipe my data clean which made the startup screen loop. I restored my phone, and now I can not reinstall the Cyanogen 6.0 mod. I go into the rom manager and select download, I select to wipe my data and to backup the system, then I restart in the Clock Work Recovery Mod. Once there I can not find the Cyanogen 6.0 to flash. I have been trying to get this to work for the past 24 hours!
