Sep 28, 2010Is there any way that I can get my moto droid to not go to site mobile versions if the site doesn't have a full version link? To act as a regular computer when it comes to the internet?

View 1 RepliesYamgo just launched a new Mobile TV and video site which gives free access to live TV channels and video clips. The service works on iPhone, iPod and about 90% of mobile phones. We would really appreciate it if you could test the service and give us some feedback on how well it worked for you and what phone / network you were using. This will help us to improve the service and bring you more free mobile TV.Please go to Watch live mobile TV channels on your mobile phone. Please note streaming is data intensive so make sure you either have a data plan on your phone or are using WiFi. Our platform will adapt to your network conditions from 2.5G to WiFi. WiFi gives the best quality. We'll be launching 20 new live TV channel over the next couple of weeks and 6000+ new extreme sports videos. Many thanks in advance and enjoy the TV.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi have just brought the HTC D HD and i was wondering if anyone know's how to view the normal websites and not mobile versions. For example I search for youtube in google and it always brings up the mobile version, but i want the web version you get on laptops, can anyone help?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't find a setting that allows me to just see the regular versions of websites, as opposed to the mobile versions. Some sites give an option after opening in Mobile v, but i'd rather disable it altogether. At least for some sites it'd be nice. So far, the 4G seems to handle the full versions pretty well IMO.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI switched to a Moment today and while setting things up Ive yet to locate where you disable "mobile versions" of websites. I had a Hero and there was a setting where you could disable the mobile view and see the natural version of a website.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI noticed the youtube news yesterday about its new mobile site, but when i log onto the stock EVO internet browser and Dolphin HD, it looks nothing like the site in the video and still asks me if I want to use HTC Flash Player or Youtube app to play the video. Also it seems to only choose HTC Flash Player now, how do I reset the defaults for this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having issues lately with Hotmail Mobile, and it was working fine up until about a week ago.I have troubles deleting emails. For instance, when I go to the "junk" folder, and click the box to highlight them all and then delete them, it will only put a check box in the very top email. And if I check them all individually and click delete, it won't delete. In fact delete doesn't work at all. Also, I can't open attachments. It just says "loading", and the little "circle hourglass thingy" keeps spinning around and around. Other than these issues, I can read my emails totally fine.I know that I can just go to the pc site instead of the mobile site, but I preferred the mobile one on my phone.
View 1 Replies View Relatedjust wondering if anyone is having the same issues as me with YouTube. The audio and video with the built in app is slightly off sync, with the picture moving very slightly ahead of the audio. There is an issue with subscriptions where a few selected channels show 0 videos, and going in results in all videos bringing up an error Viewing the site through the web browser is great, with subscriptions showing fine with new videos, but the flash player is not up to speed and this time the picture is quite far ahead of the video, to the point where it isn't really watchable. I don't think its just me, and I hope there might be an update soon as I can't find a workaround.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm beginning the process of learning the ins and outs of developing sites for mobile web browsers. Are there any good resources/communities online that discuss mobile specific site development issues? My initial understanding is that to cover different phones you need to build one site that is enabled for browsers with the webkit engine (iphone, android, etc.) and another more basic site for other older browsers, is this assumption correct? Also what does developing for webkit mean exactly? How is it different than just using javascript/css/html? Is it the same except that you limit yourself to webkit specific functions and css? I looked on the webkit site, but it didn't explain it in those terms. Are there any other snafus I need to watch out for when developing for mobile browsers?

View 6 Replies View Relatedjust bought my Droid on Sunday after the underwhelming Nexus One release. I'm using the Dolphin Browser and struggling to figure out how to get back to the mobile versions of sites. I know it was sending me to the mobile engadget site there at first, but lately I can only get to the full site. I'd really rather see the mobile one for loading time purposes. I remember on my Hero there was an option buried in the menu for this, but I can't find it on the Droid. Does it matter that I'm in Dolphin instead of the stock browser? And doesn't AndroidForums have a mobile version as well? Can't seem to get to that either.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have checked and changed settings back and forth, rebooted, etc. It doesn't happen to all sites, but IS happening more frequently on a variety of sites I regularly browse. Even if I take the "m." out of the address, it still happens.

View 7 Replies View RelatedHQ videos don't download fast enough on 3G or Wifi! I didn't think too much of it until my friend came over with his new Iphone 4G. I told him about the new mobile youtube site so that he can see the videos in HQ. He was on the crappy ATT 3G network and was able to play a video in HQ without any problems at all. It was downloading about twice as fast as it was playing. I was very surprised. I then tried the exact same video but it just sat there trying to download. It would play for about 2 seconds then stop. It was really bad. I then turned on my wifi, but it did the exact same thing. I restarted the phone, turned on wifi again, did a speed check so I knew that the wifi was working, then tried it again. Still wouldn't download any HQ youtube video faster than it was playing. I'm just really surprised that my overclocked droid (1.25ghz) on the verizon network (or wifi) couldn't come close to keeping up with the Iphone 4 on ATT's crappy network. I kind of feel like something is wrong here so I though I would ask if anyone else is able to play HQ videos on 3G without it stopping. In other words, is it downloading faster than its playing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to open the regular Facebook page in the browser? I am almost able to log in to it, but then it asks me for my birthday because I'm not browsing from a "familiar location". So I select my correct birth date from the drop-down menus, but the Login button stays grayed out for some reason and I can't go any further. Has anyone else had any success? My reason for wanting this is so I can access the actual Notifications page. The way I currently have it set up, I get an e-mail notification in Gmail. Then when I click the link in the e-mail for whatever update it's supposed to take me to, it just takes me to the homepage of Facebook Mobile. Then sometimes it won't even list the New Notifications link. This makes it very inconvenient if I want to go find where to reply to a comment or something. I have to know exactly where it is, which is difficult if it's not recent.
View 5 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a solution to the issue when using the mobile paypal site?
When using ebay it directs you to the mobile site, which never works right and is utterly worthless and the app doesn't do much better, is the a way to get back the full version of paypal and avoid the mobile site?
With the Dolphin browser, is there a way to "force" a website to load as a FULL/normal/regular html website rather than as an m.site.com mobile website?
For example, when I try to navigate to eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices I am ALWAYS redirected to m.ebay.com
Is this a setting within the Dolphin Browser or is this controlled by the website itself??
I looked through the settings and could not find a preference to chose between mobile and "full html" site options
When I first ran across PhoneGap, I was excited because I envisioned simply dropping in the URL of a mobile site and simply updating the mobile site to use the devices capabilities when available.
Alas, it seems it is not that easy.
From what I understand (and I could be incorrect), any HTML/JS access to the device's hardware is limited to local 'pages'. So essentially create a HTML/JS local 'web' app to access the 'real' mobile web app by AJAX like calls. It seems a little redundant (at least to me) when the point is to simply extend the interface an existing mobile site.
Not trying to knock PhoneGap here, just wondering if there's a similar framework that allows a remote site to access the phone's hardware directly. Or if I've missed how that can be done with PhoneGap.
(Sure, I know "allows a remote site to access the phone's hardware directly" sounds scary - but the URL is hard-coded in the app, and HTTPS could provide authenticity. Of course, security is probably why this isn't supported by PhoneGap.)
trying to find a way to do this? any suggestions? my two favorite shows. Would be awesome to have the option to download to my phone (EVO). tried watching Sons of Anarchy new episode last week on fastpasstv and didnt work to great

I just read an article about the improved youtube mobile site at m.youtube.com. I have used the youtube app since the ota that was sent out to fix it and downloaded an apk that allowed it to always default to HQ rather than having to change it each time. But I just tried out the mobile site and it is blazingly fast compared to the app. The only thing that would make me not use this over the app is that I didn't see a way to watch the videos in HQ. Am I missing something? Does anyone else have a preference for the mobile site over the app or vice versa?
