View 1 Replies View Related I'm suddenly having trouble opening up audio attachments/files. Running a Nexus 4 - OS 4.4.2. I get my work voicemail as e-mail attachments in .wav format. Up until today I was able to just tap on the attachment, and it would download and start playing. Now it says "No app can open this attachment for viewing". If I go into the Downloads and try to open it up, it says, "Can't open file". Same if I try and open up a mp3 that's in Downloads. However, opening a PDF or Excel file from Downloads or straight from email works just fine. If I go into the music player I can open up the .wav and .mp3 files from Downloads just fine.
I tried restarting a few times, and also tried clearing the app cache with no luck. What should I try next?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I was in Chrome one day, I clicked the Share button and shared a link to Facebook Messenger.
Now, when I tap Share in any app, it opens up Facebook Messenger immediately, instead of showing the Share menu.
Is this some sort of feature? How do I get the Share menu back again? (I've tried Googling but I've come up with nothing.)
I'm a novice user writing my first android application. I have the need to upload a file to a webserver from the device. I googled enough before joining this forum and not at one place did I find a suitable solution. I would like to know how to launch the file browser when user clicks on the "Browse" button to upload a file.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to swipe a text message notification on the lock screen to open that message like you could do in Jelly Bean? My messages show up, but when I swipe them, the lock screen slides over to a second page. I tried playing around with some of the lock screen settings, but couldn't figure anything out. Am I missing something completely obvious, or is this somehow not possible to do?
Brand new S4 received yesterday, stock OTA 4.4.2 pushed by Verizon about 5 minutes after my phone was activated.
After playing a bit more, I found that if I swipe to the second lock screen page, then back, if I tap on the message notification it will open, but tapping before that yields nothing.
I have a tmobile Galaxy S3, pretty much stock. Ever since I got the recent 4.3 OTA upgrade constantly. Several times per hour, sometimes several times per minute. Sometimes I'll see it appear then flash away and come back while I'm staring at it, making it hard to pick things off the notification menu for all the jumping around.
I did once (months ago) download that from either the web or Google Drive (I suspect the later)... I can't open the file (it says "This Document Cannot be Opened" if I click on it) and the notice comes back. Even if I download another copy, I still get the notice, clearing Drive's cache didn't fix it, neither did uininstalling Drive altogether).
Is there a way to change the default download directory for anything I download such as attachments, pdfs, etc? Android 4.4.2. Seemingly simple thing but I couldn't find it.

A while back I had my brother root my Samsung Galaxy S3 for me. I unrooted it using SuperSU but when I went to install the latest KitKat update (4.4.2) it flashed the yellow triangle and said I had unauthorized software and I needed to contact the Verizon store. I did the down volume-home-power thing and took care of that but it is clear to me that even though SuperSU says my phone is unrooted it isn't. How do I really unroot my phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S3 that just got the 4.4 update this morning. Afterwards it had to redownload/update nearly every app on the device as well as all my SNES and Playsation ROMs which I though was odd.
Now all the notifications for thos downloads will not go away. I've cleared them all at once, I've cleared them all individually. When I turn the screen off and then turn it back on an dunlock the phone all those notifications are back in the notification bar.
I was prompted to update to Kit Kat on my Samsung Galaxy S3 this morning. The updated downloaded & installed without any issues - but now the same 3 notifications are constantly displayed on my phone. If I clear, they come back. Same for when I re-boot my phone:
01-Take-A-Chance.mp3
Download complete
ioOX40xgzyOil.gif

It has only happened since this update and it's getting very irritating having these display permanently and come back seconds after I clear each time.

Is it because it's changed to emulated0?
I'm developing an app that needs to know when the users wants to open some files, previusly configured in my app, and act before the file is served.
I assume I'll need to know when the user wants to open any file (and compare the file's name with my list) and the device must probably be rooted, but I can't find a way to know that a file is required for the user or for some application the user is using and requests the file.
I've thought about Broadcast receivers, but this option needs that 'open' generates a broadcast message, what I didn't find that is done.
Also I thought about the linux mods, that can be used to manage system calls, but I didn't find any way to include it (the linux instruction modprobe doesn't work on Android and I didn't found an equivalent one).
I had extract surces files from an .apk application and I'd like to open XML files in the folder "res".I import it in eclipse but i obtain this message: "No XML content. Please add a root view or layout to your document."
