Jelly Bean :: How To Retrieve All Lost System Apps
Jan 30, 2014I rooted my 4.2.2 jellybean Android phone and using the Root Explorer app, I transferred all my system apps to my Sd card hoping to increase my phone's internal memory. After doing that, my phone rebooted and all the phone's system apps were gone!!!!!.. like the calendar, launcher, browser, dialer, contacts, File explorer and everything else.. Now using mc pc, I was able to download a few system apps like browser.apk and tried re installing it on my phone but it won't. . .THe error was "App not installed".. I think the reason was because I have also transferred the "downloader.apk something" into my sd card that's why I was unable to download apps now.

Oct 9, 2013I deleted my call logs Monday. I needed space on my phone. Didn't think I'd need those logs anymore. But we were expecting mail (snail) from a travel company through which we are taking a trip to Oregon and it hasn't come. We don't know their name (forgot) but I had a call from them and made a call to them a week or four before I cleared the call logs. If there was any way to get them back, I could get their number.
My carrier is Solavei (on the T-Mobile network) and they do not yet have detailed call logs to see in Activity online and it's all online. I can't use them to find the number.

Mar 7, 2014my wife deleted all her photos trying to upload them all onto dropbox. I have downloaded many data recovery programs like stella phoenix and dr fone but i am unable to make the programs see my phone. I need to try enable mass storage but i know when we upgraded to 4.3 that setting went to mtp and ptp but no mass storage.

a business account (google apps google mail and google+)
a personal account (google apps google mail and google+)
a gmail account
and facebook
the business account is currently ME in Contacts which means if I send an email from my phone from the personal account the image shown is not the personal image it's the business image
how can I change ME in Contacts to be my personal account?

Jan 15, 2014I haven't seen anything about the privacy implication for me as the recipient of the picture.I do not have a Google+ account. I have sync turned off for contacts because I think that Google has proven themselves too untrustworthy to have that information.
The only way I can see that the pictures get into my contacts is that on each incoming call the phone app takes the phone number in the incoming caller ID and queries Google to see if a picture is available. In the process, this gives Google a complete list of everyone calling me, an unacceptable privacy violation as far as I'm concerned.
Is there a way to disable it so that my incoming calls are not leaked to Google?

Sep 17, 2013Contacts on my Samsung GS4 disappear all of the time. I have a 6,500 person address book synced to Google Contacts. After a few hours, my contacts disappear. The only way to get them back is to clear the cache in Contacts and Contacts Storage and let the address book repopulate.

Dec 2, 2013I discovered it several days after the upgrade to 4.3. When I tried to update a contact or add an entirely new one I was recieving an error that stated " Unfortunately Contacts has stopped working". I then tried to install a new contact via Google on my pc. Saved there no problem but would not sync the contact to the cell. I was able to search this and found the fix on the internet. I have Enhanced Mobile Care thru AT&T and they were unable to assist me in this issue but are aware of it after the software upgrade to 4.3.

Oct 9, 2013why there are contacts loaded on my "brand new" S4 I received via Cell C in South Africa yesterday?
It is concerning me that they have supplied me with a re-worked/repaired phone that someone else has used previously.
There are about 10 contacts that show up, all are linked to google, not on the phone memory or sim memory. Numbers from friends, to "moms".
UK, American and local SA numbers.

The contacts that are have Google under the Connection heading auto-sync to Google+, the remaining 90% of my contacts don't sync.
Is there a way to edit/change the Connection type to add Google to all my contacts?

Sep 18, 2013I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy s4 mini and have realized that my contacts seem to appear on the screen very slow. It sometimes takes upto 2 minutes to appear. Some thing you all should know is that I have 2000+ contacts (mainly clients).
At first I was using google contacts and i assumed this was causing it to lag due to using data to refresh... but I transferred all the contacts to the device itself... so it shouldn't lag anymore!
When people even call... there name doesnt appear, and only the phone number shows, even though I have the number installed in my contacts. This is also the case with text messages. When I want to compose a new text, and search for a contact... it doesnt do anything for about a minute or two.
I have opened the developer mode, and changed the animations to off, but this hasnt solved the problem.

Nov 18, 2013Since I updated my Samsung S4 to 4.3 I can't find a lot of contacts in the texting module. This is what happens: open screen for new text message, click in the receivers line, start typing. A lot comes up but most contacts with mobile numbers are missing. A lot of other useless records come up (e-mail addresses, LinkedIn, etc.).
Is this a setting? A bug? If so, is there a work around?
Jelly Bean :: Galaxy S3 Exchange Contacts No Longer Syncing
Feb 8, 2014I have a Galaxy S3 that uses MS Exchange to sync my email, calendar, tasks, and contacts through my Office365 account. Everything has worked great for months. A few days ago, I noticed that contacts I had been adding to Outlook on my PC were not showing up on my phone. After checking all of the basic stuff (contacts to display set correctly, sync turned on, auto-sync checked, etc.), I discovered that the Contacts had not synced since mid-January (date/time stamp under Settings/Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync/Settings/More Settings). All "sync" boxes are checked, and the Calendar, Email, Tasks, and Text Messages are all syncing, with current date and time stamps. For some reason, even though the Contacts sync box is also checked, Contacts have not updated since January.
I have tried unchecking boxes, restarting phone, removing and reinstalling account, and everything else I could find on these forums. But nothing works. After re-installing the account on the phone, the Contacts "sync" box is checked, but there is no date/time stamp at all. If I look on Settings/Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync/Accounts, the Sync Contacts box is checked, and it shows a current date/time stamp. But the contacts are not syncing, and no contacts show up on the phone for this exchange account. The contacts are making it from my PC to Office365, as those contacts do show up in the web based Office365 contact list. But the contacts are not making it from there to my phone.
I am spending the afternoon trying to create a temporary work-around, but I run my own consulting business, and having access to my contacts is critical.
Jelly Bean :: Contacts Not Working For Samsung Galaxy Light
Jan 23, 2014I am able to pull up my list of contacts, but when I click on a contact I get the message "Unfortunately, contacts have stopped working" and it send me to the home screen. I have a Samsung Galaxy Light running Jelly Bean 4.2.2. The phone worked fine for awhile, then started giving me the error messages. If I do a factory reset, the problem is fixed for a few days, but then the contacts problem persists again. I have tried all of the following:
1. Clearing the contacts cache
2. Enabling contacts storage - it already was running and there is no place to "Disable" or "enable" that I can see.
3. Factory reset - works for a few days and then the problem reoccurs
4. Change Date settings to a different format
5. Change time settings to a 24 hr format
Nothing has worked so far.

My question is if I delete a contact from my phone that is also on what's app then while deleting that contact android shows this message:-"This contact contains information from multiple accounts. Information from read only accounts will be hidden in your contacts lists, not deleted". This means that contact is not being deleted but hidden somewhere in contacts lists. I want to know how can I recover those hidden contacts.
