How I can download my photos from my Canon Ixus onto my Nexus 10? I have tried with Nexus media importer and a USB OTG cable adapter without any success. Would a card reader work, if so, which one?

I'm using a galaxy nexus, with jellybean, yakju (not rooted) I accidentally deleted all my photos and i really want them back i searched around but most of the recoveris need it to be in mass storage mode, but the galaxy nexus has internal memory and uses MTP. How can I recover my files??
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got my shiny new Nexus 7 three days ago and connected it to my gmail account. Then I tried searching the play store and it doesn't seem to be working properly - apps like iPlayer and Evernote are 'not compatible with my device' and when I search for other apps I don't get the proper, basic ones like camera, only independently made ones that are less popular. When I try to download these I get an error message - Error while retrieving information from server (RPC:S-7 EOS:AEC-O). So I tried looking for solutions on the internet - sync it, remove Google account and put it back on, I've even tried setting up an entirely new email, but nothing has worked. I've noticed my device has a permanent sync error but nothing has remedied that. This is all terribly annoying as a device is pretty useless without apps, although I managed to download Facebook right when I got the tablet. The internet works fine, and my Wi-Fi is strong.

I have downloaded many data recovery programs like stella phoenix and dr fone but i am unable to make the programs see my phone. View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to pull in google plus photos when using photoshop touch and autostitch apps etc. But their import options only access local folders on my device. I can download individual photos one at a time to a generic download folder from google plus to use, not full albums. When I try to create a new folder in gallery, and move the Picasa/Google Plus photos I get a notice saying "unsupported file." I read somewhere that there should be an option in gallery that makes photos available offline, but I don't have that. Just basically trying to be able to organize and download my g+ photos for use with these apps, in a less time consuming way.

If you look in the folders they are all still there but all of the old photo's have the same Authored Date (7/23/2003 6:36 PM) and the same Date Created (5/9/1970 11:20 PM) the Date Modified is unique as it is the actual date the pictures were taken... These files are not hidden. I do not remember exactly what day I upgraded to 4.3 but it would have been right around the time that the issue started. I tried Scan Media and Rescan Media apps with no success.

I updated my phone (GS3) two days ago and after I did I have 4 "download complete" notifications that won't go away. Even after clearing them they come back. The files cannot even be located on my phone anywhere. I downloaded these ages ago through Chrome.

A website I frequent recently changed to add advertisements to the right side. Somewhat annoying, but hey, gotta make money. In doing so they added a 300 pixel margin to the right side of their pages to allow for the ad. On my 1080p monitor, it's no issue, plenty of pixels to go around. The content on this page is also set to 100% wide, making it use up my entire screen very nicely. Then I view the same page on my Nexus 10, or any mobile browser for that matter, and it looks like garbage, because everything has been over doubled in size.
I get why the browser does this, to make everything easier to view and interact with. I don't care about that, I want to be able to see as much content as possible at once, I want all of my pixels to be used. So that is what I want to find out, is there any way to make any android browser display things at actual size, instead of zoomed in size? The main browser I use is the stock one because of the Desktop user agent (several sites, like Wikipedia, are so awful to navigate in Chrome since it mobile formats them) and I have tried Dolphin as well (which has a zoom setting but it doesn't make a difference). I know Dolphin has an option to add a custom user agent, so is there any user agent that fix this issue that I should put in? Or is there an app that addresses this?
I recently got the new Nexus 7 running 4.3 and wondering if there's a way to block ads without rooting (I mean ads from webpages while using your browser). I had rooted my phone a long time ago and remember there was a great adblock that did the job perfectly. But I don't want to root the Nexus 7.
On my laptop computer, I use AdBlock as an extension the the Chrome browser. But extensions don't exist on the Chrome Android version (at least not that I'm aware of).
I did fine an ad blocker (forgot the name) that used a proxy, but it was a pain as you had to manually add the proxy to every wifi connection and it also wrecked havock on some websites (e.g. couldn't log into e-bay).
These ads really slow down web surfing, specially when your browser is in "Desktop" user agent mode.
How do I revert my Nexus 4&7 back to Jellybean after kitkat update!!
Update: I found this after initial post, any knowledgeable comments on this procedure from those who have actually revert a Google device?
I have samsung galaxy nexus with android 4.2.1 .. I install Kies driver in windows 7 (on my laptop) , but my computer cannot recognize my phone. the phone is charged and when the phone plug in to my computer, sometimes the phone shows the message of USB Debugging connected and connected as a media device in top of screen and shows the pic of these but after a second again this message remove. My computer cannot shows my phone like a usb and i can't go to my sd card of my phone via my computer.
in some days later, my computer can recognize my phone but when i install Intellij , my computer can not recognize phone. I unistall kies and again i install this but when the install complete my computer shows a picture like this
My phone recognize in a mili second and afer unrecognized! my problem is for my cable phone?
My father is getting a Nexus 7 in the next few days and since I'll be using it a bit I've decided to put a custom ROM on it. I'm going with Paranoid Android because of the whole tablet UI thing, but I was wondering if it has a multiple user system, since I didn't see it listed in the features. I noticed an option for it on my Xylon ROM on my Galaxy Nexus and I'm not really sure how it works... Does it just change which Google account the device is linked to? Ideally it would be cool if I could set up a different launcher for each account.

When I restarted my phone after a day for some other reason, I realised that my Sound Search app wasn't there on the home screen anymore and was neither in the widget list.
I tried to download an apk but it just says that this file already exists, so I'm not sure what to do!!

I have a very serious problem as I cannot reboot my galaxy nexus as i tried to update my phone to JELLY BEAN. I watched the tutorial video on how to install jelly bean on my phone on youtube. Furthermore, I downloaded this ROM ''CyanogenMod 9.0''
But unfortunately everything messed up and phone is not rebooting now.

I tried to load Cyanogenmod on my galaxy nexus. unfortunately I had copied one of the nightly update files instead of a stable version. so the install did'nt work and I did a factory reset from recovery mode. Now the computer doesn't even recognize my phone any more, when I connect it via USB. and my phone is stuck on the google screen when I try to turn it on.

Another Issue I am having is that the Geo-Tag and the camera used to tagged correctly in hebrew and now all of a sudden it tags in arabic.
Just updated to 4.3. (Galaxy Note 2) All fine. Only one problem:
Lost Swedish as input language. (But English and Chinese still present.)
I choose add input language. It says tap to download (Swedish). The download progress bar appears but never starts to fill. Wait long. Finally it says "download failed".
When using chrome beta, when I visit some sites, android authority for example, a download starts and is shown as a notification. It has the title of download (7) download (6) etc and I'm unable to open it.

No driver available (or at least nothing works). I need to roll it back to jelly bean, then I should be able to get the correct driver and root it. So here's the 64 thousand dollar question: How can I take a device that's already been updated to kit kat and install jelly bean on it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot make double space-period to work on neither the Nexus 4 nor 10 (both with stock 4.3). I just do not know what am I doing wrong. What I did so far on both devices was to go to Settings, Language & Input, Google Keyboard English (US) settings button, Advances settings and checked the Double-spaced period. Based on some old threads for other devices I found here I also tried clearing both cache and data for Google Keyboard (under all Apps settings).

I did notice, however, random reboots ever since. I thought it might be some new apps, but even uinstalling them didn't solve the problem. Then I switched to Action Launcher, and after a few hours of use, the reboots started all over again.
Now I'm running only the original launcher, no troubles at all. How to solve this issue with third party launchers?
