I have a pattern lock on my AT&T Galaxy SII, but the screen has recently become damaged and unusable. Is there anyway to access the storage on my phone to retrieve files? Hooking up the USB cable does nothing because I can't put in the pattern lock.

My screen fell on a hard concrete floor and cracked, but i felt lucky because i thought its just the bottom 1/10th part of the phone broke.. Its a Nexus 4 I cant press the Back, Home, and the switch app soft buttons and also i cant press probably a few other pixels (I cant type SMS because i cant click on the bottom row and so keyboard wont appear).I think there should be some setting somewhere to fool around android to say that my screen size = 9/10th of the current screen size (the bottom 1/10th of the screen should be blank.) If there is any such app or any setting in any custom ROM. Tried google, cant seem to find the proper keywords.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUsing a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3. I use the swipe feature to unlock the phone.
If the phone is unlocked when I answer an incoming call, I can use all of the phones features, including Mute, Speakerphone, etc.
However, if the phone is LOCKED when I answer an incoming call, I cannot unlock the phone. Pressing the main button does not bring up the screen to enter my password. It just stays blank. Therefore no Mute, no Speakerphone, no access to contacts, etc. By default, you can't even end a call! If someone called me and just put me on hold, I would have to pull the battery to hang up. Fortunately I have set the power button to hang up calls, but that doesn't really fix the overall problem.
So, how do I get the phone to at least let me unlock it when in this situation.
I bought my new phablet that was powered by 4.1
im shocked with how the manufacturer of my device(cherry mobile) designated their storage. the phone storage is 2gb and internal is 500 mb.
it is not a problem if i could write apps on phone storage by default but even though the 'write to phone storage' is checked, when i downloaded an app, the internal storage still losses free space.
so is it possible to extend internal storage?
constantly deleting apps as up dates come out twitter, facebook, youtube, chrome all up date and i always have to delete apps to free up storage.

View 2 Replies View Related I'm getting a little desperate about the popup I'm getting every day: insufficient storage available. After trying many things and cleaning up my droid, I've started uninstalling apps, but nothing solves it. I have:
1. Rooted my phone and moved almost all apps to my external SD card using link2sd;
2. Cleaned cache, checked out residual files and other data using ES file explorer and SD maid;
3. Uninstalled many apps but instead I'm getting the warning at 60MB left free whereas I used to only get it at 10MB, it seems that uninstalling apps only makes it worse...
Here's the screenshot of my storage space. Notice that my internal memory is only around 300MB used (now it's even less since I've uninstalled many apps) - so two thirds of it are supposed to be free as it shows...?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that the graph my S4 GT-19500 displays to show internal storage used is wrong. I have a 32GB SD card and I move most of the apps across to save space but the S4 doesn't seem to recognise this when it shows internal storage used.

If I add up all the values it comes to around 1GB nothing like the 3GB claimed!
Also if I copy the ENTIRE file system to windows and look at the size of the directory + sub-directories the value is 3.92GB nothing like the 8.92GB that settings claims is there. What is happening here?
my samsung tablet doesn't have much memory for games and what not, but i recently tried to install some game that lookup 1.1gb of space, but it couldnt download due to insufficient storage, well it still downloaded as much as it could but i cannot delete what it downloaded, this isn't my tablet and it needs to be returned in 10 hours, I already 'Googled' my issue and tried to reboot/restart the device which didn't do anything, i went into Settings>Application Manager> and tried to delete said application, but it never appeared on the list, even when i did sort by size.I deleted the cache and tried everyting i could.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an Android D2-912 pad which I use mostly for reading. All my books are stored in the internal storage of the tablet ( 1.2 GB) which is almost full. For this reason , I needed additional space and bought a 16 GB class 10 Lexar Micro Card .The card works pretty well from my PC. The problem is that when the external SD card is in the slot of the D2, neither the internal storage content of the D2 pad nor the SD card show in My Computer, only the empty D2 icon, ,so that I cannot transfer the files. Onjly if I remove the SD card from the slot, then the full internal storage contents of the D2 pops up again, which doesn't work because for the file transfer I need both. .The mounted SD card and its contents, though, show nicely in the Settings/Storage tab of my D2, but even so I cannot do any file transfer .This inability to see the SD card also affects my attempts to expand the RAM with the Roehsoft Swap Ram expander, It works well, except that it does not see the SD card and takes the space for the virtual expansion from the internal storage, which is practically full, so that the expansion is minimal. .

I have an eMoto, with Android 4.1.1 Jellybean.
I can download any app under 10mb, but anything over 10mb such as Facebook, gives me this error. I have enough space on my SD card and internal memory. Considering I can download any app under 10mb just fine. I have tried tons of apps and games over 10mb and none work, ONLY ones under 10mb.
Is there a way to update android on my phone, which could possibly eliminate this issue? Because I didn't have this problem on 4.0.1 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on another phone.
I'm attempting to support my daughter with her GS3. The device is currently in SAFE MODE and and the storage is nearly full. She also has said the device has been rebooting on its own. She is currently deleting apps she is not using. She does not have an SD card installed. I know how to get around my BlackBerry, but am unfamiliar with the ins and outs of Android. Her device is the Sprint version running 4.3. How to get her device back in top running condition.

It works great, and I've got face unlock working... mostly.I'm trying to train it, by going into Settings->Security->Improve Face Matching periodically, but it still only recognizes my face about half the time.
Often, the lighting is bad - maybe it's too dark, or I'm backlit so my face is turned into a silhouette - there's not much to be done there, but often, there are borderline situations, where the camera shows what I think is a recognizable picture of myself on the screen, but the phone says "Sorry, I don't recognize you."
Does retraining the phone often enough eventually get the facial recognition system to work better? Or is it always going to fail here and there if the lighting's off?Or are there any hidden tips based on whatever algorithms the face-unlocker uses, that would improve my results?
I just updated it from ics to JB then it wont access the recovery. but my phone works can text surf the net and games. my problem is i need to root it and i cant access the red recovery

I'm able to surf the internet using browser but, couldn't login into gtalk app, youtube app, googleplay app, can't signin or sync the device with google and, I tried factory reset couple of time changed modem settings, reset modem settings no chance whatsoever and also login with another gmail account which was created for this purpose. Also when I login into play.google.com browser it shows all the apps that or wiped after factory reset as "INSTALLED". What do I do? Also how can I upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean? How can I access this folder? When accessing the device via the Android File Transfer sofware for Mac, I don't see this folder. I have access to Android/data/com.google.android.apps.docs/files, but this folder contains no files but only another folder (called "pinned_doc_files_not_for_edit") which is also empty.
The lost pdf is still there, I can open it in the reader via the reading history, but I would like to access the folder to see whether other lost files (which are not in the reading history) are also still present. To be clear, the file which I can open is also not detected when searching the device for pdfs.

Recently my phone's screen (galaxy s4) has broken. It is not shattered but it does not light up or respond to touch. It looks almost as if it is not on at all. I know it is on because the light in the upper corner that blinks for notifications works and the soft keys light up when the power/lock button and volume button are pushed. I can not see or save what I have on my phone through Kies because I can not unlock it. I was wondering if there was any other way to unlock a phone like through a website or program, or even display a phones screen onto another device, because I have picture on here that are very important to me that I would like to save before I ship my phone in for it's replacement and lose everything. I did not have an SD card and I do not know if everything saved to my clouds or google docs.

I select the page where all the apps are...select xbmc app...sometimes it flicks back to main apps page other times the screen turns black/blank. I can't get further than this page....my box has worked perfectly for the past 3 months since purchasing. I can't get into the settings page as I can't get past the blank .
