I just bought my wildfire today and I have trouble setting up the wifi connection here at home.Everytime my phone tries to connect to the router it times out while waiting for the IP-adress to be assigned.Anybody have any ideas what might be causing this?

Hope I haven't missed anything obvious, had wildfire for about a week, all ok.Now suddenly, I can only connect either my laptop or wildfire to wifi, not both at the same time, only started happening a couple of days ago.can anyone help please?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a Telstra HTC Wildfire and unlocked it by code to use my 3 SIM card on it. However, after unlocking my mobile, when I choose the option "use phone for data connection when wi-fi is unavailable" it doesn't work. When i go to mobile network and network operators, I select to search for networks and the phone is automatically connected to "3Telstra(3G)". They also show 3(3G) and 3 networks, but when I try to select any of them, it says that the SIM card does not allow the connection to this network. I don't know if one thing is connected to the other, but I always used my old phone for data connection with the same SIM card.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently rooted, and unlocked the bootloader on my atrix hd (ATT)
Since then I tried installing cm10.1 multiple times on the secondary "Rom slots" within the bootloader, without any success. So I finally decided to go for it and install cm10.1 in the "stock rom" slot, Prior to doing this I did a back-up using Rom manager. Aand now I seemingly can't even boot into recovery mode, every time I restart my device it simply goes to the cyanogenmod blue ring thingy and gets stuck! (I have left it for 15-20 mins thinking it might be some kind of installation process..) I have both windows 8 and Ubuntu installed on my pc, just saying.i've even tried holding down all three physical buttons and it simply takes me back to the same screen!!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got my wildfire, running android 2.1 and cannot obtain an IP address from my TP Link TD W8920G router. log in the password etc and it just keeps getting stuck in a loop saying 'obtaining IP address', then unsuccessful.
I've tried manually adding the phone's MAC address to the router configure, and have assigned an IP address to the phone, following advice on other forums. I've upgraded the router's firmware, and I've rebooted the router. I've attempted to 'use static IP' but truth be told i don't really know what that means.
I've seen this problem on a bunch of other android phones but nothing specifically for wildfire.
When sending MMS I keep getting a notification saying 'message not sent. generic network failure' until it eventually aborts altogether.
I think the problem is at least partly coz I'm using an unlocked vodaphone handset on orange, so the APN isn't properly configured.
Ideally can somebody with a Wildfire or similar model on Orange give me the correct APN settings from your phone? Or at least link me where to find them - it sounds like every other provider has the details on their website but can't find anything on orange.co.uk
I open the HTC sync program and connect my phone to my pc with the usb. The notification then pops up on my phone asking which connection type (charge/sync/disk drive), i choose HTC Sync and press 'done'. A window then pops up on the phone screen saying 'unable to find HTC sync on your PC. Please make sure HTC sync is installed and opened on your computer...' HTC sync IS installed and open, i have downloaded it today off the HTC website.

It never exits the loop. If i do not put the loop in, it just force closes and complains that it is not yet connected.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have exchange set up on my Droid through the email program that comes with the phone.. Its been working fine until this weekend, really. 3 separate times, it's failed to load my inbox or sync new messages, and it pops up with the unable to open connection to server message.Ive quadruple checked all of my settings, removed my account, re-added my account, refreshed it, and still, it wont sync my inbox and it still shows that message. I even tried installing touchdown, and touchdown wouldnt sync my email either? I didnt like how it kept my contacts all separate from my gmail contacts, so I went ahead and uninstalled it. I REALLY just want to use the regular exchange email program..But get this, I am able to sync my sent mail though, and Im able to SEND email messages, just not receive them.
We have our own exchange server for our company, and we have 4 other people in our office running exchange on their phones, (2 Motorola Droids, 1 Droid X, and an HTC 6800...) Nobody else is having issues with their phones syncing their email so I know this isnt an exchange issue, but a phone issue instead.Ive run an update (just the *228) on my phone, reset it like 3 times, killed all the apps, and it still wont sync my inbox (just my sent mail..) And again, it'll send email but wont receive it.I know calling or going into a verizon store will be a waste of time.
This usually happens after some wifi activities, but i've noticed that whenever my wifi fails to connect or sometimes even when i disconnect from a wifi server, i lose my data connection (im operating on edge with rogers).
This can usually be solved if i restart my phone but obviously thats not ideal. anyone else have this problem? is it a known issue?

I am on the Nexus 5.I have already looked up about this problem online, but the fixes for this seems to be either a hard reset, a factory reset, or the YouTube trick, where one signs into their gmail through YouTube and fixes this issue.
I have attempted all three of these things, but I still can't add my gmail account. The "Can't connect to server" message still pops, even when trying to sign in through the YouTube app.
I have a problem with my Wi-Fi connection. I turn on Wi-Fi, go to Wi-Fi settings and under the list of found networks is my home wireless. When I try to connect to it, it goes as far as "Obtaining IP adress" and after that it fails. I thought this was because I was using GalaxHero, but now I went to using Mustymod's 2.0 and the problem is still there.
View 23 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded K9, having read on here what a good email program it is. I can't get the thing to work with my Yahoo.co.uk account. It's Pop 3. The account works ok with the standard HTC email program, but when I try to set it up using K9, I get "Setup could not finish Cannot connect to server (Unable to open connection to POP server)." I've googled it, I tried setting it up without using wifi, and tried changing settings to IMAP and port numbers, but just can't get anywhere with it.
