View 3 RepliesI need to be able to sync my Lotus notes calendar and contacts with my HTC Hero. The sync must be done directly from my desktop to the phone, so what I am looking for is a one step sync. For security reasons I can not use a two step process where I sync notes to google email or other providers. It is not necessary to sync email, only calendar and contacts. Is this possible?
Thanks for your help
How to disable this function on htc magic?

View 12 Replies View RelatedOn My HTC Magic, i have over 3000 text messages in my phone and i want to delete them all its all under one group. Every time i try to delete the whole thread my phone keeps freezing and the screen turns black then i get an error of Application Messages (in process com.andriod.mms) which if i hit force close it but the messages are still there. I would like to delete this thread to make my messages faster.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Rogers Magic unlocked. I am in China using China Unicom GPRS. It works very well. However I want to be able to save incoming sms messages in the phone. Perhaps even in folders such as "drafts". My old cheap Nokia could do this. When I now get an incoming message I can only delete it or leave it in the "inbox".
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me how to backup my text messages so that I don't lose them when I root?
I am not even seeing a way to copy and paste them into a document or anything. Any Android vets know how I can go about saving them to the SD card, or emailing them somehow, or somehow sync them to the cloud, or even copy them to my computer?
I'm looking around for a textmessage app that allows me to send/recieve texts (like the default app) but also allows me to backup and store (maybe online) my messages.
For example:If I would buy a new phone, I just needed to redownload the app and restore my texts.
Is something like this available in the Play Store or not?I've looked around but the only things I could find were textmessage apps with some added fuctionality (fancy design and emoji-stuff), so not really the thing I'm looking for.
How can I backup my messages in Handcent? It backed up the settings, but not the messages.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some people from whom I have a lot of messages. I would like to back them up to a pc before I delete them, but cannot find any way to do this. Is there a way on the phone or an app that will let me back up MMS?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to do a whole backup of the phone and messages, apps, music etc.
I see that on the phone there is an option to do Auto backup to the SD card, which I have just ticked. My question on is is that..how long does it take to backup, and when does this happen? As I have had no messages to tell me if this is working.
Also, is there a way to manually backup the same data, using an app or something like that?
Is there any way to push the msgs archived in the SMS folder that SMS backup creates in gmail back to the phone after a wipe? I've searched and searched and cannot find an answer or a trick to restore the backed up msgs. It's nice having the msgs backed up on Gmail but it would be nicer if I could have them on my phone as well.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI changed ROM on my phone and when restoring the messages (SMS) with Titanium Backup it didn't work. Well this was not the end of the world but I had some numbers in one SMS that I would really want.
Is it possible to open one of the Titanium Backup files on a computer and read the SMS content there?
I did a quick search and didn't find any posts relating to text message limits.I have what I believe is a Motorola Droid 1 (How do I find out for sure?) using Verizon as my carrier.
I was told that any text message sent to me that is larger than the standard 160 characters, would be split up into two or more messages. This is not happening on my phone, and I'm wondering if this is an OS problem, phone problem, or if I just need to call Verizon to have them investigate?
I have gotten several texts that were cut off, never to receive the rest of the message. Also, is there a way to have text messages forwarded to an email address as a backup?
MY messages ARE IMPORTANT, But I cannot unlock phone because of my brother that did too much pattern tries. Then Google account appeared telling me to input my gmail and password but i cannot open it maybe because of my wifi is turned off. how to backup my sms messages even if its locked.

Does anyone know why it might not be working?
Sadly, the Android Market in Canada does not have any paid apps. I was just wondering is there any way I can put themes onto my phone? I find that it really sucks that I can't use any of the dxtop themes or openhome themes in the market unless I actually have the app itself (which I cannot purchase).

View 4 Replies View RelatedGht now I have a iPhone 3g and I am tired of how tight apple has it locked up. And I want an android baed phone. So I have my sights on the htc magic. For people that made the switch. Do you honestly like it better? I don't care if it doesn't blow the iPhone out of the water I just want somethin onpar with the iPhone. Just better will I be satisfied with the magic if I make the switch to android or should I wait for a G4 or something? I can't get the hero cause non currently or ever will support my art carrier. So I am planning to go with an Rogers htc magic.
Please share with me your experiances going from iPhone to magic.(I typed this in iPhone so might be some typeos I didn't proof read.)
I was wondering if anybody docks their Magic (or similar) to one of those thing-a-ma-bobs that holds it between two speakers? They're generally made for iPods but hold other players as well.Because of the wee USB port, I have bought a little adaptor so now I've got 3.5mm jack, but I don't know how well that would dock.
I just want something cheap so I can set it on the kitchen counter whilst making dinner and washing up. I don't even necessarily need it to be at a good angle, so I could just buy a cheapie pair of stereo speakers, but thought something small and compact would be more convenient if I want to move things around to different rooms.I went ahead and bought something verrah verrah cheap off Amazon. I'm not looking for a Carnegie Hall experience, so cheap oughta do the trick. But, would still like to hear about your gadget if you want to talk about it.
Can anyone recommend a good site to buy a unlocked Magic that will work with ATT 3G?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyway just recently got my best skins ever. If you don't know its a clear skin that goes over your phone to protect it from scratches. Anyway here is my review on it.Installation on this skin, like all skins, is fairly hard. Here are some great tips that really helped me move the proccess along.
1) Using an exacto-knife (or even better a model knife), cut the top piece near the earphone and the bezel piece into two. I guarantee you this will help GREATLY!
2) Do the same on the face buttons, and the bottom bezel. Here is an illustration
3) Palm technique: This is a well-know technique among people who use skins often. On skins, corners often don't stick down. So what do you is wait a couple of minutes, usually 5, then using the palm of your hand press down on the corner and hold it for 30 seconds. The corner usually goes down, if not wait a bit more for the solution to dry then try it again. It is extremely useful for area's that just won't stick down.
4)Another thing that helped me, was get a deck of cards and tape them together. Put your phone on the top and apply the skin then. This helps to make sure your skin doesn't skin to the table.
5) The last thing is never, ever apply your skin over a paper towel, since the dust from it can stick to your skin. And make sure no dust gets under the protector because it is a huge pain to perfectionists like me.
