Is it possible that during the call a greeting message is played to the caller like: "Welcome, Please wait while the call is picked" ? Is there any Android app that can do this functionality? How do I search for this feature on Android? Is there any name for this feature of playing a greeting message to caller?

I have the Galaxy S2 jelly bean version. My problem is that when I am on a call and I receive another call, I get the notification beeping sound, and the person I am talking to also hears the beep and becomes aware that someone is trying to call me! The person I'm talking to should not hear the beep or know that I'm being called by a third person!
how to prevent/turn off the beep to the person I am talking to without turning off call waiting ?
My GPS seems to take ages to get picked up when using something like endomondo or my routes, if indeed get picked up at all, is there anything I can do go check if the GPS is working?

When I am on a phone call and another call comes through, that person's Caller ID contact list name does not come up, just their phone number (even though they are in my contact list). View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Inc worked well for about the first-ish month. I sometimes had "muddy" call quality and the caller would drop in and out (to the point I thought they hung up, but I would start hearing them again). I attributed this to the caller's device/network and not my device.
I went from noticing this just a few times, to almost all calls have the problem now, to some degree. It does not matter if using the ear or external speaker. GPS through the speaker is perfectly clear and so is playing movies and music.
This suggest it is not an audio output problem, but an actual voice call problem. It is getting so bad that I am beginning to dislike the Inc, since phone calls are obviously a critical function of the device. Everything else works fine.
Suppose my application xyz stores a few contacts(just like in the address book/ telephone book). Other contacts are by-default stored in my Android address book. Suppose I receive a call on the handset with my app xyz running in the background. All I need is to fetch the Caller's name from the application xyz and display this name as" Akash Calling..." instead of "+91... calling..." assuming that caller's details are present in the application say, his name and none of his details in the actual address book. Is this feasible.

View 17 Replies View Relatednoticed something weird with KitKat, and confirmed this on two different phones (Nexus 5 and Moto G but running latest KitKat 4.4.2). On occasion (not every time) the phone seems to auto dial someone after you've ended a call with someone else.
My wife reported the problem first with her Moto G. At first I thought she might just be accidentally hitting a button after calling someone (this is her first smart phone and first touch screen phone) but it's happened several times for her. Final catch was today when I clearly had it happen to me (it also appears it may have happened before once or twice on my phone). I had called someone using my bluetooth in my car, at the end of the call I pushed the hangup button on the steering wheel, and the call ended. Then my wife picked up the phone to call another person and we both noticed it was calling some other friend of ours (that I had txt'd with maybe 2 hours before). It had just started calling this person for no reason. We quickly ended the call (hopefully it didn't bug them), but wow is that annoying.
It seems to happen every once in a while right after hanging up with another call. It seems to call someone in either your recent call or txt history. I'm not sure what might trigger it as it doesn't happen every time, and I'm not sure what number it chooses to call (though it does appear to be someone you recently called or txt'd).
One thing I've noticed with my HTC Hero (Sprint) is that I have a very short period of time to answer an incoming call before the caller is directed to voice mail. When I do answer the phone people are routinely telling me that it rang 4 or more times before I answered even though, from my perspective, I answered it rather quickly. Could this have something to do with using downloaded ringtones? Perhaps, while the phone should be ringing, instead, it is loading the ringtone off the sdcard.

Answer: information from cellular providers and from banks comes from such numbers. But they trapped in spam and you have always to look blocked log.
On my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..
I keep all of my music and podcasts (which i copy/paste manually from my computer) on the internal storage.The last 2 weeks when I copy/pasted my new podcasts over for my regular 5 hour weekend drive, the podcasts dont show up anywhere in the default media player. I have to use Astro to find the file and select it from there. What am I doing wrong/how do I fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI suppose I shouldn't have been surprised, as any number of other highly improbable things were occurring but there we were, in the car, Droid plugged into the stereo, listening to MP3's, courtesy of the Music app, when a podcast started. At first I thought it was because the damn Music app picked up my podcasts that were in a different directory. Since we were at frequent complete stops anyway (Philthydelphia traffic), I looked at the infernal device and discovered that the Median app was playing a podcast - at the same time the Music app was playing music. I don't know if you can even do that on purpose, or why you'd want to, but there we are. Without any prompting whatsoever, I was getting two audio apps at the same time.

I am using the stock app from samsung for calls and messages. Factory reset is something i would like to avoid.
Just got my Incredible and love it. I charged it up last night for the second time. Turned it on this morning and all looked good. Received a call this morning and I could hear the caller but they could not hear me. Several more incoming calls and the same issue. Then I made some calls...I could hear the person but they could not hear me. Finally turned phone off and back on and it is now fine. Mute was not on.....anyone know what this could be?

It currently makes me laugh.6 months from now who knows but thought I'd try it for awhile.
A friend recently got a new Samsung Moment. Since then, he reports that callers sometimes get his personal voicemail greeting, but sometimes just get a vanilla greeting with the phone number, or perhaps an inability to leave a message at all. We're trying to figure out why.
1) Could it be related to the fact that the Samsung Moment has Visual Voicemail? My friend doesn't use the Visual Voicemail program on the phone (yet), but rather dials 1, just as he used to, to both set his greeting and hear his messages. My understanding, however, is that he was switched to a Visual Voicemail-capable server anyway.
2) Could it be related to roaming? I wonder whether his new job is in an area with poor Sprint service, where his phone is often going into roaming. This would also explain why his battery is not lasting the full (overtime) workday.
3) Could the separate server used for Visual Voicemail be downright flaky, constantly flopping up and down, or perhaps over-busy? Wouldn't other customers of that server complain if so?
When I attempt to set my voicemail greeting, it first asks me to set a 4-7 digit password, then hit #. If I hit # without entering digits, it says "# is not recognized". The user manual clearly states "Sprint recommends you set a password, otherwise anyone who finds your phone can access your voicemail." That implies you don't have to set a password. So how do I tell it I don't want a password, and let me move on to the greeting recording?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried troubleshooting on google. I tried emailing them, but there is no option to email about the voicemail greeting, just telling me to wait after i change the settings.
So to the problem, I recorded both my name and custom greeting. When people get my voicemail, they hear the standard greeting "Please leave your name and Google voice will try to contact 'Thuyet To'". I went to all the settings, changed everything to play my custom greeting, but I'm still getting nothing.
Not sure if anyone else was having this issue, but if you want to get the old automated robot voicemail greeting instead of a recorded greeting, go ahead and record your main greeting and then go back into your voicemail settings and delete the greeting. It will revert to an automated greeting. Also, to get it to say your number instead of your recorded name, go into personal option under the voicemail settings and delete your recorded name, and it'll revert to just saying your number in the automated voicemail greeting.This had been bugging me ever since I got the phone since I hated recording a greeting myself and for the life of me I could not find the option for an automated greeting. Anyways, hope that helped.

A couple of nights ago I was prompted to enter (record) my own "greeting" and now I cant find the option to revert back to the default one. I tried all the options after calling my own voice mail but cant seem to find the default greeting option. View 5 Replies View Relatedso. i used to use a particular caller id/announcer app, but i recently changed roms and now i can't remember what it was called! i think the name had something to do with a mental problem, or maybe sleep. i think the icon was kinda swirly or spiraly. the settings screen i think had a blue background. there was an option to pay for a key to unlock some of the options, something in the ballpark of $3 or $5.

I use GO Dialer and GO Contacts EX.Call receiving screen looks like stock.I had a call from friend, he wasn't saved in contacts yet. When he was calling and i went to pick the call i think i pressed something because question popup saying something like "Do you want to block something? Yes/No".I think i pressed "No" but now my friend can't call me. Phone does not respond, like no call is being done, only for that one number. Also i don't have him in my calls history.
