I need to unroot my incredible but i dont know how too. Ive looked all over online but it only shows unroot for non 2.2 or incredibles on 2.1's. I need to turn my phone into verizon, but if they catch me im gonna be screwed so i really need to unroot.

can someone explain why it's necessary to unroot my phone in order to update the radio? I would like to try skyraiders ROM but just don't feel comfortable unrooting my phone. will it be possible in the future to update the radio without unrooting?

Some of the stuff I have been reading online have said that in order to get the update, an unrooted phone is needed. So, I've been trying to figure out the best way to unroot my phone! All of the methods I've seen require wiping the phone in order to unroot it (ie. Root & Unroot your Droid Incredible now! | Gadgets DNA) Is there a different way to unroot the phone without wiping it back to the stock Incredible ROM?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am wanting to know, in preparation for the 2.2 release to the Incredible, just what steps I will need to take to be able to get the OTA just like normal. I don't use root for much of anything. I am not overclocked, ShootMe is probably the only app I actually use regularly and the leaked 2.2 is way too buggy for me to keep on the phone. I currently have the updated radio via the leaked 2.1 OTA and my phone is rooted. I assume that I can't just apply the 2.2 OTA, but I am wonder how far I will need to revert. I'd like to lose as little data as possible from my phone, am I just SoL?

get a rom suitable for Orange/EE - UK that will restore to stock default and enable to me to receive all the updates etc without issues
I am curious as to how to do this. My main reason for trying this is to gain some more knowledge and be able to jump back and forth if I wanted. I may end up selling the phone and would like to know how. I searched but did not find anything that tells exactly how to do it.

However, once the phone starts to load up, I get nothing but a rapid succession of FC's for every app on my phone. After the FCs, my screen is COMPLETELY BLACK except for the status bar, which shows a date of December 31, 1969 and shows a time of 7:05PM (it's actually 4:15PM where I'm at). There's no service in the status bar.
