My mom will soon be getting my phone since I will be buying new when they one day releases the dual-core phones. I also have some sound problems when calling so I thought it would be easiest just to unroot the phone. So my question is: What is the easiest way to get from rooted to stock 2.1 ROM.

I'm looking for advice on the simplest and easiest way to root. I know theres something that wipes the phone, rolls back to 2.1 and then roots it. I just got my second eEo because my first overheats. It came with 2.2, is that an issue? What do I need to know about ROMs? I hear fresh evo is a good one. I don't mind losing all the sprint stuff as well as HTC. I prefer launcher pro so any widget loss doesn't bother me. I heard about the method to rollback 2.2, root it then whatever, but everywhere I found today from that day says that a simpler method should be out in a couple weeks. It has been a month, is there a simple point and click method yet?

If I do this, I think it would be best for her to have an unrooted Stock Droid. I did this before with a Droid I had to send in:

View 3 Replies View RelatedEveryone is always so concerned about unrooting, removing su, removing busybox, etc., and so-forth. Well, finally an extremely simply solution. Almost too simple. Go to the Market and install SholesMod Updater. Sure it's $5, but it does it all for ya. Just install the application like any other, then open it. Select "Stock 2.0.1 (No root)" and let it do it's thing. And no one is the wiser. Hope this puts some minds at ease.

I've already tried the method described in the "Guide from stock 1.5 to the latest root 2.1 thread" and that method failed. Here is the situation, I'm having an issue with my phone that is basically making it unusable, see this thread: Phone stuck in headset mode. This is my 2nd eris after having it replaced once already, and I'm going to try and use this problem as an excuse to complain my way to an upgrade. But before I go into Verizon I need to unroot my phone. I currently have a rooted v of 2.1, I'm not sure what is is called but I think it's basically a rooted version of the official OTA. I am not on Leaked.
Now after the OTA I don't know if 100% stock means 1.5 or 2.1 but basically I need it so Verizon can't see that I've voided my warranty. I am looking for an idiots guide to going back to 100% stock. I've unrooted from Bugless Beast v.4 to a stock 2.1 via How To: Unroot the Motorola Droid | TheUnlockr. So basically I used RSDLite and did the steps listed on that site. I used their .sbf file as well. Everything seems to work except one thing. I cant update or install Facebook, Maps, and Goggles. If you look at the comments in that link, you'll see that a couple of people have the same issue. It says "installation error". "Package file not signed correctly".
I unrooted because I need to send my phone in for a replacement and I'm not trying to void my warranty. When I go into about phone it says:

I've changed my Moto Droid to the Droid Incredible, I will miss and keep Moto Droid in my heart. (It also made me realize iPhone was just a platonic relationship). I'm selling it off to offset cost. It's already deactivated, I've been trying to use the Rom Manager to download a stock image but it keeps failing, apparently it doesn't want to use Wifi (tried in airplane mode too). Even then the version it downloads is rooted. I'd like to reset/wipe the phone down to 2.1 or 2.0.1 and a way to make sure OTA will work when it gets activated. How can I do this?

Basically topic. I know the simplest way to do it would have been to Google Sync my contacts into my Gmail from my BB then sync them to the EVO, but unfortunately, I can't do that now. The SIM in my BB is out thanks to my number transfer so no data, and I didn't have Google Sync installed.
I have a little over 200 contacts in my BB, and as I'm sure you understand putting all of them in manually is near insanity. Anyone in the same boat as me? Any solutions to this or is a long night of manual contact switching in my future?
How easy is it to unroot a phone after trying a custom ROM? One of the advantages to the plan I've got is free insurance on the phone, but rooting it will, of course, void that.

1. Download Droid Explorer for your system. (de - Release: Droid Explorer 0.8.7.0 Beta)
2. Now, go to your phone. Settings> Applications> Development > USB Debugging.
3. Make sure you downloaded the drivers for the captivate then plug in your phone and select PC connect and mount the phone.
4. Now open Droid Explorer and connect the device. Right click and select batch install.
5. Now a screen should pop up and you should select the APKs you would like to install and it is self explanatory from there on out.
That should do it, sorry if this was posted somewhere else or something but I kind of figured this out on my own even though I am not a very techy guy.

(./configure && make dep && make). Afaik, the library does not depend on other libraries, other than libc and OpenSSL (which should be present on Andriod).
I'm trying to find the simplest (read fastest in terms or not needing to read hundreds of pages of manuals and then apply try && fail brute-force approaches to complete the task) way of getting the library off my machine in source code form, and into the Android phones as a .so. The library will eventually be accessed from Java's native library interface. For development, I have both Windows and Debian machines on my desk.

And tried to install the pre update package (4mb). I get the Update OTA. I restarts and goes to the Android install screen (I don't know if that's the right name for it, it's the screen that you access after holding home on start up).Do you think this is because the phone is still rooted?Does anyone know how to fix this?
