View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know a way to clear the history in the Google quick search bar?Every time I open it, it displays a list of my previous searches and I'd like to clear it.I have checked in settings/applications/manage apps, but the "clear cache" button is grayed out.Any help will be appreciated.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use to be able to search for categories of things in my area by opening google maps and then clickin 'menu' and then 'search' and immediately a list of categories would pop up and i could click on 'restuarants' for instance and then select by sub category such as 'chinese'. Now, the search button only opens a search box. I've seen the places icon but that's no more than a macro to search for broad words like "bars" or "restuarants" in google maps. It's not a full categorization.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to create a search in my app which acts like the map search in the Google Maps app. I have creates an an auto complete text view which updates dynamically based on the results of the Geocoder.GetLocationByName() Method. However the results retrieved from this function are really bad and not at all consistent with the text I pass to it. Is there a better method of doing this to achieve accurate results?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLots of people underestimated Apple and thought Android phones were ahead of the game. Judging by this video, it seems like a tie if not Apple has the race still won. I mean, the fluidness of iPhone is just amazing, which honestly makes it look more intriguing.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI have searched the forum and found other people in the past looking to do local searches but I didn't see an answer. I also found the documentation for the AJAX api but I'm not sure if that is what I need. I'm a little lost and I'm not sure exactly where to begin. An example would be great. I have a List View and I need to show business names in it. The names will come from a Google search based off of category and locale Ideally the results will come back in XML, but I can handle anything else if necessary.

I'm a frequent visitor to France and suspect that I changed something in Google a couple of years ago but can't remember what. I would call my cell phone providor only I've noticed French results coming up in my search results occasionally when Googling on one of my PC's at home. I checked my search settings in Google and they are logged as UK and English.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded google search last night even though we already have it built in, apparently when you go to the market it doesn't show google search as installed nor an update. I installed it and it appears to have updated the built in google search in our phones. I then uninstalled it just to see if it would tell me there was an update and then it did. I thought I would post this so everyone can update their google search. Also don't forget to install/update google voice search while you're at it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI didn't see this posted anywhere here and thought it was cool. For those of you that like to read. (I totally copy and pasted this from the Tmobile forum.)Google has launched a mobile version of its Book Search application which gives Android and iPhone users access to over 1.5 million out of copyright texts from authors including Austen, Dickens and Shakespeare. Google has optimised the texts for iPhone and Android handsets, and users will need an internet connection to view them. The texts are separated under handy categories including General Fiction and Mystery, and the service keeps a list of recently viewed eBooks and allows you to bookmark your page.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to build an android app that would do a local search on google.I know there is a Google Search API for Java, and I am able to use it for a desktop application. However, when I use the same jar file (gsearch.jar) in my android project, Some problems arise. When I call the .localSearch() method of my gsearch.Client object, a runtime error is occurring. The error message is: "java.lang.VerifyError: gsearch.Client". This message is occurring in the Dalvik Debug Monitor log.So what is the problem here? Can I not use the search API on the android? More importantly, how do I do a local search from an android app? Does the android sdk have search APIs inbuilt? I could only find the Maps api, and Map search is not what I'm looking for.
