HTC Incredible :: Phone Area Code - Show Up / Not Name
May 2, 2010this kinda sucks unless someone has an answer, Any phone numbers on my last phone that were in my area code, I never had to enter it when putting in the user for the caller id to show up properly so right now I have all my number with a 631 area code not showing up on the caller id as the name because 631 is not in there number on my phone, I am in 631, I shouldn't need to put 631 before every number when I store it for it to show up properly.... in my phone I have a user, we will call her Tara, My phone and hers are 631 area codes so in my phone it says Tara - Mobile - 555-5555 BUT when she calls, her caller id does not show her name,

May 5, 2010Is anyone with a DINC having SMS issues in the DC Metro area? I am able to receive SMS but I cannot send them. They are all in an undelivered tab in the message menu. Even after trying to resend them all it is not working. I have performed a battery pull and a forced close of the message application. I have done the "airplane" fix and have updated roaming via *228,2. I am able to use all other functions of the phone. (web, receive gmail, place a call, GTalk, etc.)Currently Cell Standby is 14% and Time without a signal is 4%

I have got a picture (bigger then the screen) and I want to be able to move it up/down and to the left/right. May 18, 2010After going out of town this weekend where my Incredible switched my "current location" to where I was, upon returning home the Incredible still shows that I'm in the other location. I've tried updating and such. I've even tried rearranging the areas (towns/cities). I've tried to delete the towns/cities. It still says I'm in the other city and nothing changes in the "first place/home screen" after rearranging/deleting.

Nov 23, 2010The display area of my SGS has been reduced there is now a black line (approximatively 1 millimeter thick) around the display now anything that should be displayed has been centered (a kind of)i have noticed that after press-holding the HOME BUTTON (to get to the task manager).even when the phone that black border is still there and it look like the screen has been pushed down the display is not now at the same level as the top-cover (or screen cover).I have used the factory reset but nothing has changed.My phone look horrible now.

Sep 24, 2010Since the 2.2 update if I leave Wifi enabled and leave the connection area, 3G does not turn back on and I'm left with no data connection at all. Only way I can fix it is to restart the phone.

Reason I ask is that I never entered area codes for many the contacts on my old phone, which are all on my SIM card, because I could enter my area code into memory.I just got my Aria, and when I get a call from a contact within my area code, their contact name, which is saved on the SIM card, does not come up. after lots of reading and googling i have found a official firmware of my phone with sp_flashtool inside it with two different type :
SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1320.0.174_Secboot
and
SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1316.0.148_DLInfoV1-cust
I have followed all of correct procedure but in with sp_flash tool sec boot i encounter this error : to download code area is forbidden on this phone
And with sp_flash tool CUST it says( brom error : s_brom_download_da_failed )
And when i run a memory test it says ERROR : NAND FLASH WAS NOT DETECTED
If i format my phone in sp flash tool will it work?

HTC Incredible :: Droid Getting Bad Reception In Good Reception Area?
Oct 11, 2010I just got the droid incredible a few days ago and have had be reception since where I only get like one or two bars while in town and barely one at my house. I took it to the verizon store in town and they said this county area has the best 3G coverage you can get and can not figure out why I am getting such low bars. They need a roaming update thing twice on my phone but it did nothing. They said I would have to take it into a service station. I was hoping I could find a fix for it on here before doing so since my phone is rooted. also I notice that the antenna is at the bottom of the phone and when holding it there, the reception drops even more.

Jul 23, 2010I took my kids to the California Science Museum next to USC and the Coliseum stadium.I got great 4G service both outside and inside the museum with my EVO. I was impressed with the great download speed. I also was impressed because I know other people were having trouble getting reception with their IPhones (3G and 3Gs) inside the first floor cafe.I hope they will be able to roll out 4G service city wide soon Surfing the web and watching Sprint TV was pretty cool.

Jun 25, 2010The same thing happened on my Hero, so it's Sprint related. I rarely leave my house. When I do, I'm never more than 3 miles from home. My entire surrounding area is in Sprints coverage area. Ninety-eight percent of the time I'm steadily on the 3G. Every now and then though, while still at home, my phone changes over to roaming for no rhyme or reason! I know Sprint won't throw a hissy fit over the calls and data (unless over the 300mb), but why is my phone doing this? I just checked my account and it says I've used 7760kb of data while roaming.

Apr 21, 2010I think the Sprint coverage in my area might suck sweaty donkey balls. I really wanted to go with Sprint b/c of the EVO, my husband gets a really good discount with them through his work (22% of monthly bill and 25% off accessories), and I don't need to possibly strap a mattress on my back to pay the damn bill. I think? AT&T and Verizon have much better coverage here, and you also get a hefty bill for all that coverage. He does also get a good discount with AT&T as well but they make it so you have so sign your first born over with what they charge.

Oct 20, 2010I'm trying to find out if the user is still within range of his own area code. Detecting roaming doesn't solve the problem since the user may still be in the same network with a different area code. I thought about getting the user's coarse location to find the city he's is in but this approach needs Internet access and might not be fast enough (this is done as the user is making a call and needs to finish before the call is made). Is there any way I can do this with just the info from the cellular network?
