First of all, for the most part,I like my Evo.It's fairly fast, good ui, and the screen is incredible. However, my battery life is worse than I would've imagined.I take it off the charger around 9am, go to work, use it for about 20 minutes total, kill the apps again before i get off break/lunch. By 5pm, it's dead. 20 minutes of use, and 8 hours standby should not kill ANY phone.Regardless of screen size, if it's 'sleeping' the whole time, it should make it through enough of the day to at least charge when I get home. This has made it so that I can't even use my phone, because I know if I do I have no hope of even getting home to charge it in the evening.I've thought of getting a second battery, but I feel like it's ridiculous to have to buy a second battery just to make it to 10pm if I actually use the phone a decent amount. How's everyone else handling this?
View 5 Replies View Related1st time poster so sorry if this has been discussed.I just got my LG Ally and have never owned a cell phone with such terrible battery life!I am coming from a Blackberry which would last me all day and night.I am lucky if my Ally gets me to noon w/o the 10% warning coming on.I go to settings and check my battery usage and I really don't know what to make of it.Yesterday it showed 93% battery use was from the Android system.Today it shows 81% is the Whoopee Cushion (app).I did use the Whoopee Cuchion app for about 3 minutes earlier today so why is that taking up 81%?I guess what I'm asking is - there anything to conserve battery life?Do I need to turn something off?Change a setting?I did take the advice of a friend and installed Advanced Task Killer but I have noticed NO difference in battery life since then.Any help would be greatly appreciated. And please keep it simple.like you're explaining it to a 5 year old.

If I leave it for a day, it's almost dead entirely.I've gone through settings, turned off the automatic syncs, don't have push turned on, brightness is down, location is off, wifi is off.can't figure out what's going on.Sometimes when I pick the phone up after leaving it for a while, it feels warm, as if it's doing something.I've re-started many times,I have a task manager, and I kill every task often.still, awful battery. For what it's worth, the phone takes forever to charge as well. It charges about 10% every hour.Seems like something is wrong, no?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI updated to 2.2 (Froyo) a couple days ago. While not really noticing anything significantly different, I have noticed my battery life is much shorter now. Before the 2.2 upgrade I'd unplug my phone around 8am. Thoughout the day I'd use it a bit simple internet searches, maybe 10 SMS, and maybe about 30 minutes of talk time. In addition I have a couple programs (Loopt, Weatherbug) that use GPS routinely to pinpoint my position. I aslo have Facebook and a news tracker that autoupate from time to time throughout the day. Even with all this by 10pm my battery would still show in the green approximately at 40%.I upgraded to 2.2 and have noticed my battery life is way worse.Today I unplugged the phone around 8am. The battery showed a full charge at that time.I didn't make a single call, or even turn the screen on whatsoever until around noon.At that time I sent a single SMS and noticed that my battery was yellow, probably around 20%. By 2pm the phone shut itself down due to a weak battery.I charged it up again and once again, in about 4 hours time my phone was nearly dead.I've checked all my settings and they are the same as they were before the 2.2 upgrade. If I look at the screen that shows what using your battery it indicates that 92% is being used by the andriod operating system. Not sure what the percentage was with 2.1 but that seems awfully high when you're not doing anything.Anybody else having the same problem? For what it's worth, my data calulator only showed 35kb up and 85kb down during the 6 hours this morning before my phone shut down.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAs the title really - for example full charge last night about 1am, currently sitting at 58%.would last a few days before flashing I'm not running anything differently - everything that's switched on was switched on before if you know what I mean! Is there anything I can do? Apart from going back to the previous (very slow in comparison) ROM.I have taskpanel installed to auto kill pretty much everything apart from the UI and messages.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst off, I read these forums like every day for 2 months (nearly drove my wife insane!) leading up to the release of the X. Stood in line and bought one in the store on the 15th. Had nothing but iPhones until now - loving my DroidX!
BUT
As of right now my battery is down to 60% after having been unplugged (when I unplugged I was at 100%) for 1hr 46m 9s!
It shows display at 93% and cell standby at 7%.
I'm running smart battery mode, auto screen brightness, not that many widgets, and I rooted it and have autokiller running on Aggressive.
Do I just have a bad battery? And if so will Verizon (or Moto) give me a new one?
I've only opened it once while on the phone with sprint activating it. It felt really hard to take off and put back on. Is there any tip on best way to remove and replace the cover without feeling like it's going to break?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI lost my battery cover (or someone stole it) from my birthday party. I cannot seem to find one online. I called HTC and they dont have one available, but maybe I got the wrong rep? I called ATT and they were no help. There is an HD Mini (somewhat of the same phone) battery cover on eBay but it doesnt have the metal connections since the battery cover of an Aria is part of the antenna. Please help me find one! Even if I have to buy an extended battery (with battery cover) so be it. I just need my phone back.

View 22 Replies View RelatedFinally got my replacement EVO yesterday was all excited until I just noticed the battery door cover does not fit tight! There is a gap along the whole right side. big enough for dirt and dust to get into the phone. The build date is 7/05/10. Also, the camera lens is not centered in the cover hole. There no red showing on the bottom of the hole and a big red gap on the top of the hole. I cannot believe HTC lets phones like this out the door! Where is the QA/QC?

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a problem with how the battery cover fits? If I squeeze the phone on the opposite side of the volume button towards the bottom of the phone, the case squeeks and flexs inwards. Being the OCD person that I am, I am constantly sqeeking the case and I am pretty sure that I am going to break it soon. I want to take the phone in and have it replaced but would like to just have the cover replaced rather than the whole phone.

View 6 Replies View Relatedif you look under your battery door, there is like abit that sticks out, and i accidently peeled a bit away, and it reveals a copper...sheet ...type thing...is it some sort of signal booster? what is it doing on the battery door? you can see the little shiny thing in the middle left area?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI took off the battery cover today when my phone wouldn't turn off. It was in shutdown mode for about 25 minutes, so I just pulled the battery. This is the first time I've taken the cover off. I've spent over 45 minutes trying to get the cover back on correctly. What a piece of trash! All the connectors are still there, but when I put the cover on, it not longer has a "smooth" feel, but its clunky since the top left side (near the volume key), as well as the top right side straight across. No matter what I do, those parts of the cover will NOT stay down. I've tried connecting the cover every different way, as well as pressing down on each connector after its on to see if I can find a lose spot. No luck. 45 damn minutes and I'm about to throw it across the room. Seriously, I love this phone but if something this stupid is going to happen, I may as well switch phones because this is the most frustrated I've ever been with a cell phone.
View 38 Replies View RelatedIs it just me, or does anyone else's battery cover come off way too easily? I'll accidentally slide it off when pulling my phone out of my pocket all the time... and sometimes it gets pulled off in my pocket so I take the phone out and the cover falls on the ground I really don't want to put a case on my phone just to hold the damn battery cover on.
View 47 Replies View RelatedSorry to bother you guys, but I purchased a Motorola Droid about a month ago and since then the battery cover has fell off about 5 times. The last time it fell off while I was walking and talking in the street and I couldn't find it to put it back together. So now i have a droid without the battery cover. Is anyone else experiencing this problem as well? If yes, does anyone know a solution?
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone ever have trouble taking the back battery cover off? I just got my phone on Monday, and ever since I put the cover on I've wanted to take the cover off to see if I can find where the SD card is (which if anyone could point that out for me that would be great). However, when I get where only the part where it has the slit open, I feel like I would break the rest if I keep pulling that is how good it is on my phone.

View 27 Replies View RelatedAt complete fault of my own in a move I should have known better than to do, my phone decided to hang out for a few minutes on the bottom of my oven, face up, while it was on at 375F. The phone is actually surprisingly great - everything still works, makes calls, cam and rear speaker seem unaffected - but the back battery cover is messed up now. Because I'm optimistic and dumb, I went to Sprint to see if I could get a replacement door from them. No go. Then I checked HTC's website, and they don't seem to sell anything for this phone at all (exaggeration). Ultimately I plan to wrap my Hero in one of those jelly cases, but I already own one and I'm away on vacation and refuse to by another. Still, despite being wrapped up incognito, I'll be secretly bothered by my less-than-perfect phone, so I really want to order another one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm onto my 2nd Droid. The first one had the same battery cover issue as everyone appears to be talking about.very loose, comes off in your pocket, etc.Now the new one has an entirely different battery cover issue.one of the door prongs doesn't appear to "catch" on one of the holes on the back (top right hole, closest to the USB connector). The net result is that the door stays on, but this corner of the battery cover sticks out/up.Anyone have the same issue?Fixes?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or does anyone else have trouble removing their battery cover?Sometimes it comes off really easily and sometimes it won't come off at all.I lost patience with it last week and tried to get it open with my car key and scratched it.I think the cover should have some kind of grip on it so that your finger/thumb doesn't slip when you try to open it.Now have a new cover on order from HTC,hopefully the new one might be easier to get off.
