What steps do i need to follow to connect my phone to the computer?
i want to access my SD card.
the only disk that came with the phone is VZ access manager but when i installed it i could not locate the SD card.

I know a smart phone is only as smart as the user but I can' connect to my computer. I get a message that the software could not be found when I plug into the usb port anyone else have this problem? I did a search on the inc. thread and couldn't come up with anything.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen connecting an EVO to a computer are you shown just the information on the SD card or information from the actual phone or Both???? im wanting to be able to view applications that i have downloaded from the android market. There is one app that i have uninstalled but doesn't delete from the download list and i want to see where it is located on the phone that way i can delete it/modify it myself. 2.2 isnt out yet so i know its not gunna be on the sd card.... BTW -- what does everyone think about the Ultra Notes app or TXT PAD LITE app???? what "NOTE" apps do yal use?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI want the hulu app to work, apparently newest leak it does not. I can do root and s-off, don't want to go through backing up apps and restoring. Want the most stable 2.2. Needs verizon's 3g hotspot working. Doesn't need sense. What rom do I need, and what are the steps to getting this done? If it's always recommended to do a full backup, wipe, and restore, then bleh.

Big thanks to Toe-cutter who was very patient with both my lack of knowledge and of patience! I'm looking for some help in connecting my Hero to my computer. I haven't has problems until today but now I can't get the darn phone to connect. I have tried my work computer (Windows XP) and my home computer (Vista) and I have also tried four different usb cables, including the HTC one. I have also done a factory reset, taking the battery out and anything else I can think of including reinstalling the drivers & HTC sync If anyone can help I'd appreciate it - I need to be able to sync my phone to my calendar for work. Oh, by the way - I am not in the slightest way technically competent!
View 24 Replies View Relatedi rooted my phone around a couple weeks ago, and have been trying different types of roms. Today i decided to switch to the fresh2.0d rom and so i placed the zip folder in the root of the sd card. i booted in recovery and selected flash from zip. Once complete, my phone keeps rebooting at the "HTC Quietly brilliant" screen. It does it over and over again. i tried reflashing, taking out the battery and nothing happens. I cant connect to the computer and have no idea what to do.
View 7 Replies View RelatedHow to connect my phone via USB cable to my computer. I know you turn off USB debugging option under development. I connect the USB cable that came with my phone to USB on my computer and then to my phone. At the top of my phone it comes up with the notification to mount my card touch on that and them my phone comes up saying to turn off mass storage. Using Windows XP and in explorer can see the SD card showing as a drive in my list however when I click on it it shows nothing.
I can see the notice of the usb drive in the listings showing that I can turn it off, which I do before I disconnect the phone from my computer. Then I try to connect the USB again to my phone and all it does is show its charging the phone now, usually the only way to resolve is either to restart my computer or restart my phone and the problem starts all over again. I am tired of taking the card out of my phone manually to connect it to my computer to move or copy files or anything to my card which is an 8GB sandisk micro sd card.
I have tried for the last 2 days to connect my phone to my laptop without success. I have downloaded a blue tooth transfer software from the market but also without success.

1) i downloaded/installed the drivers
2) i unpackaged the rootkit onto the sdcard
3) i executed start_root.bat
4) the script(s) ran and the phone rebooted.
now, when i connect the phone to the computer (any computer) via usb, it isn't recognized. this is the main problem. i also downloaded rom manager, and it says i do not have root.
when i run start_root from the tutorial now:

nothing is being recognized...
So im looking at my messages and i get a long one. After like 100 characters or something it cuts it off and replaces it with ... And then i have to click on it to see the rest. Is there any way to take this off in the settings?
And my second question, my phone doesnt connect to my computer right. I plugged it in, it said it didnt have the right software or something, so i went and downloaded the the Vista 64 bit thing thats stickied on here. I plug it in, and the "you have the wrong software" thing was gone, but nothing else happpened. The screen says its connected and it vibrates and i hear the noise thru the computer, so what am i doing wrong. I read somewhere that you pull down the little bar at the top and hit dock or something like that. I cant do that. If i can pull it down theres no buttons to hit. Can someone walk me thru this process? FIXED

I'm looking to sell it (4 batteries, 3 cases, 1 external charger, all stock accessories, 8GB class 4 microSD).
In what order should I "undo" everything in order to recondition the Incredible back to stock? Is there a particular order that's optimal?
Trying to get back to stock on a LG Ally. The whole thing seems easy, Ive done a lot of work on my DX so this is easy, but for w.e reason i cannot get my computer to recognize the phone. I've installed all the drivers from the "How to get back to stock" thread in "all things root" and Ive installed drivers from LG's website. The computer installs them fine but when i open LG Mobile it says "disconnected, please connect phone." Mass storage is turned on, and Ive tried this on multiple computers at work.

You will need the following applications; Either Google Chrome and QR-tag extension generator(for Chrome), or Firefox and QR-tag extension generator(for Firefox) , and this one for your phone Barcode Scanner v3.3 Application for Android you don't have to use this app there are many others out there(doesn't have to be an Incredible phone either). It should be pretty easy to figure this out now that you see the apps involved but I will explain. First is the obvious, you need to get all apps installed and running on both pieces of hardware. Second when you are on the web page you would like to take with you you simply click on the QR-Code app in your toolbar of Chrome and it will display a QR-code then open your QR-Code reader on your phone and line up the QR-code in its sights. View 42 Replies View RelatedI thought I would put one of the available pedometer apps on my Incredible, thinking it shouldn't be too hard to find one as handy as what my old Sony Walkman phone shipped with (it ran when the screen was off, tracking my whole week's walking). Needless to say, I am disappointed that HTC does not support this functionality, causing any installed pedometer apps to quit counting steps as soon as the phone sleeps. With the supercharged battery which I plan on buying, I wouldn't be sweating so much the power consumption, and it's really disappointing to be left without the choice to let programs of my choice run. Will there be a fix for this problem anytime soon? Anyone happen to know, of if there's something else I can do about it?

The only way that I've been able to find out how to do it is to physically email them to myself one by one. I would prefer not to have to do that. Does anyone know where the links are stored on the phone or know of a way to do what i'm looking for? I know google chrome can transfer chrome to phone but i was hoping for the other way around. Hopefully in bulk and not one by one. any ideas?

My main reason for buying the Droid 2 was the fact that it could be a hotspot. We have a lake house that has no internet access. I want to use it there.
I can't figure out how to connect my computer to its signal. The Droid 2 should be able to do this - Correct?
I'm trying to get my phone to connect to the computer, so I can put music on it. But when I plug it in, all it does is charge. I've already tried to change the USB settings, so that it would pull Mass Storage, and it wouldn't do anything after the fact. The computer has no notification pop up when I plug it in. And nervous, is that weird? 1. I have a MacBook Pro w/ my music on itunes, although I didn't buy any of it through them. Is there any issue with connecting my new phone to my computer and getting my music stuff on it? Is it easy or do I need to read about how to do it from somewhere? I got my DInc replaced, and im putting some media back on my phone. When I mounted my phone im getting 3 drives now. E drvie which is my phone storage F drive which is my memory card and a new super secret D drive, which has weird content in it.a program called TL-Bootstrap.exe?? Any ideas of what the hell this is. Im not running this .exe till I know whats what.

I did download a file manager that allows me to copy apps to my sd card and then move the card from my computer to my incredible. But everytime i send an email with an app, all the options i get is to preview the item, and it comes back with a parsing error each time. I spent a few minutes searching through the forums but could not find an answer.

When I had my droid I just plugged it in and the droid said " do you want to sync" and I choose yes and I could go into "my computer" and into my phones files to drag and drop files etc, this phone is not giving me that option.
Secondly how much memory should be available under phone memory? Mines has 701mbs available but nothing saved to the 16gb card I have. How do I move things currently saved to the phone under the memory card?
