Is there something wrong with my phone? When it dims (before it goes dark and locks), the screen turns a pinkish/red hue. Is this normal? The screen looks fine otherwise, it just does then when it dims.

Loving the phone, the auto-dim works great when I pull the phone closer or away from my face. My issue is when I'm playing a ROM on my phone for an extended period of time (maybe 15 minutes), I notice that the screen either gets brighter for a few moments, or will get dimmer. The seems to happen without any warning or prompting maybe it occurs because I accidentally hit the home button, then return to the ROM and once the phone knows I'm just playing the ROM it dims to conserve battery? And when I say dim, I mean ever-so-slightly. It doesn't turn black or anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAlso the softkey buttons stay lit up above the trackpad. Running Frankenrom right now but also had it on the new deodexed leak. Reboot cures it for quite awhile, but it seems to return eventually. I think it's possible it might be due to creating a custom profile in SetCPU for "Screen Off" mode. Just wanted to verify if anybody has pinned it down yet. Happens both when charging and during normal use.

At times - while I am typing on the keyboard in some app (email, web or other) the screen will noticeably dim a bit for a few seconds and then will brighten back to what it was before. It may do it again before I am done typing.
This does not happen every single time I type on it, but probably at least once a day. any ideas on what is going on? Has anyone else seen this?
Does this ever happen to anyone?I'm at work currently and my screen will turn on every now and then.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just noticed this since the latest update, not sure if it was there or not, and not sure if there is an app that may have recently been updated causing this, but every 5 minutes or so, my screen will flash on for a second or so, and then turn off again. It's rather maddening. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAnyone else notice when you're on a phone call if you move your finger near the little dot to the left of the verizon logo the screen will turn off? It's annoying when multitasking because that functionality remains regardless of whether the phone call is the active screen or not. If you are watching the Google Navigation screen and you're on a call, move your finger near the little dot next to the verizon logo and the screen turns off.

Over the past few weeks, I've had issues where the screen will dim as it approaches the display timeout, but never turn off completely. This is intermittent, and I have yet to notice a consistent pattern. I've been searching to try to find a cause but with no luck so far. I am familiar with using BetterBatteryStats and thelike to track down issues with wakelocks and not going to sleep, but i don't know what to use/look for in this instance (ie how to identify apps that might block the screen from shutting down).

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter the OTA and a factory reset my screen dims when I tilt the the phone in camera mode. It's fine when the phone is vertical but when I go to take a horizontal landscape shot it dims the screen to black. It will do the dimming proportionally to the angle the phone is rotated off the vertical axis and front to back (freaky) It will still take the shot but I have no idea how centered I am on the shot. I changed auto dimming to "off " but it still blanks it.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I'm using NexBeast v1.1 on my Droid and noticed in the clock app there is a brightness button that dims the screen even further (similar to the bedside app I'm guessing). Unfortunately the screen dimness only lasts while in that app. I was wondering: is there a way to set the overall phone brightness itself that low or keep the screen that dim outside of the app? The lowest brightness in the Droid settings is still a bit too bright for me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am not sure which is the culprit, but while playing back video or even at random times, the screen shifts lighter or darker seemingly at random, and one time during a video playback on the TV.com app, it went black altogether. I am not sure whether it is the timer or the ambient light sensor, but I am tempted to turn the sensor off and push the timer back a lot.

The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedTried rooting so I started off flashing r8 of bh_man's 1.6 rom. Went through the setup, odin turned blue to pass and I let the phone run past the android system and then the screen turned off.
Thing about it is that the phone is still being detected by the computer and odin. It's like my phone is on a screen lock but not responding to when I push unlock.
Ive tried every custom rom and each one does the same. I try to go back to stock and most of the time the program closes, when it doesn't I try to flash it and it goes through the process but goes on forever. One time I let the timer go on for 2 hours and it was still on 5/9 completed.
Used my camera this morning, then i went to use it again this afternoon and something seemed to have stopped it from working properly between then and now. With both the camera and camcorder all i get is this transparent purple/pinkish color. I dont know anything about cameras but is there something wrong with the lens? View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed in the last few days that my display turns off after 1 minute when idle, even when actively running Googlemaps with directions, etc. This is overwriting the 10 minutes in settings - very annoying.Am also running PowerManager and TaskPanel, but haven't changed any of the settings for ages, so I can't see if these can be interfering.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a HTC Desire which I've become exceedingly fond of.I've read (and been told by a colleague who owns a HTC Legend) that wifi should automatically turn off while the screen is off to conserve battery. I have the impression that I should be able to see the wifi icon turn on as I turn on the screen and unlock the phone. However, I haven't noticed that happening: The icon seems to just be on always.I have then tried observing my router's DHCP table when the the screen is off, but I haven't observed the entry for my phone disappearing (and I don't really know how much time has to pass before the table not showing my phone.Are there any settings that can cause this behaviour? What about programs? I current use smart monitor to log data usage as well as locale (using a SSID plugin and not the locale "location" condition). The only services I can see apart from those I think are OS services, are the ones for locale, smart monitor lite and the SSID plugin.

Currently it seems that locking the screen automatically turns off the accelerometer. I looked around for quite a while and didnt find any solution for that. Is that intentional? It would be really helpful to know if this is how it is or if I just didnt find the solution for that so far.thank you for any help on that (and as I said, even "doesnt work right now/on purpose/.
View 5 Replies View RelatedAs I understand it, there seems to have been a change in the OS that prevents the accelerometer from running when the screen turns off and the phone CPU goes into its power saving state.Can this be confirmed?I have gotten around this by using a wake lock, but this is a much less than ideal solution as it drains a lot of battery.If the accelerometer was disabled in low power mode to save the battery, it may very well have the opposite effect in many cases, such as mine.A partial wake lock seems to be required to keep it running, which is obviously much worse than if just the accelerometer were running without the need for the wake lock.Are there any other workarounds anyone knows of to getting accelerometer values while the phone is in low power mode?Also, are there any plans to change this in future versions of the OS?If there are no plans to change this, I would definitely like to petition for this to be changed.

i will be using my phone, set it down for a minute, screen turns off then the phone magically isnt on anymore. I have to do a battery pull to get it back on. The power button will not turn it on. any help anyone can give me its reallllly annoying update. So it was figured out that is was setcpu that was making the phone act weird, BUT now that there is an overclock kernel out that works(flashed and works perfect) how can i fix the issue of my phone randomly turning off?
