Ok I had the Virtuous v 2.6 with clockwork recover and S-off. I was using the phone today and it just froze so I rebooted and it stayed on the splash screen so I rebooted to hboot and then went to recovery which wont open it just goes to splash screen. So I did the downgrade back to 1.00 radio and .77 HBOOT to try and start over and it still gets stuck on the flash screen. Please someone what do I do?

i was trying to put clockworkmod on my samsung galaxy xcover, but i used the wrong file (it was clockwordmod for galaxy ace), and now my phone is stuck at the first bootscreen (black screen with the text: Samsung GALAXY Xcover GT-S5690) and i cant get in recovery mode or download mode. so actualy i cant do anything on my phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've searched the forum database and the internet at large and can't seem to find anyone with 'exactly' my problem. My Eve has been problematic since I got it 3 months ago. I perform at least 10 battery pulls a day to get it to 'wake up' because nothing else works. It started to get really cranky on Friday night but it continued working -- very slowly -- but I kept getting error msgs (don't ask me, can't remember!) The battery dies, so I plugged it in overnight. Since then it turns on, shows the Rogers screen, gets to the Android screen with the light scrolling across the letters, then hangs there. Twice I somehow managed to get it to a screen that said ARM11 has failed and gave me 2 options, volume down or volume up. I tried each of these once, same thing. Today it somehow got to! EMERGENCY MODE but was then completely unresponsive while showing this text.
I called Rogers and he suggested I do an update but that it would erase all my info. I was desperate and tried this, but to no avail. Did not do anything different to my phone. As I sit here typing, the Android screen is scrolling sideways, doing it's thing. Meanwhile I have no cell phone. Apparently Rogers doesn't replace it (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). They ship it on my behalf to LG who assesses and decides if they will replace or inform Rogers to inform me that it needs to be repaired, then LG charges me $30 for the assesment. Could take 2-3 weeks -- they will give me an old flip phone to use for that time. Meanwhile no discount on the monthly Data/Cell phone plan. It's kind of striking a nerve. I'm considering sending it back and buying a used iPhone 3G for $300 and if I get the Eve back, I'll sell it over the internet.
I have an LGE l38c E400 I am rooted and when I flashed to CM9 rom it got stuck on the LG logo screen.

I have an HTC Evo 3D with boot v1.50 (unlocked using the official HTC device method successfully) TWERP v2.0.0 (the touch style recovery). I have "successfully" installed the MikRunny v1.13 CDMA ROM but I am stuck in the white HTC splash screen. I did not back up my original stock ROM (the worst mistake ever.) But I have wiped everything (except the / SD card/ portion of my external card) each time I try to flash a .zip ROM.

I rooted it last week with the unrevoked 3 method which seemed to go ok then i tried some different roms and some worked some didnt. I tried to install the r8-bravo-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-a2sd+-signed...! This rom got stuck on the white start up screen. I thought that if i cleared the sd card it would install but still the same thing then i just got the white htc screen wich i cant get off and i cant load the recovery to change anything...! Have i bricked my phone?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a bit of a problem with my Android. So what happened was I downloaded "DroidRootPro" from the market. I rooted my phone with this, installed the 800MHZ ROM image, rebooted and the phone came up great. I was actually surprised on how fast it became. Once the phone came back up, I tried installing one of the custom themes that came with that app (I know I should have left it alone). The phone than rebooted and I was never able to bring it back up. It gets stuck in this endless loop where it tries to boot but doesn�t get past the "Droid" splash screen, it just keeps rebooting every time.
Things I have tried:
-Wipe data/factory reset (in recovery mode), no go.
-Wipe cach partition, no go
-Restore from a "nandroid" backup, no go. I tried pretty much every combination of restores and am unable to bring the phone up.
Is there anyway I can download the factory image that comes with the phone, put it on an SD card and restore to that? I have looked all over but cant find any information on this.
OK today charged battery then turned off bump charged it turned it back one. HTC splash screen, then little splash screen then verizon splash screen then its reboots. It did this even if I removed the battery. Called Tech support had to clear all my data UGH!!!! luckily i did export to sd card a while back only missing about 20 contacts out of a 100 but its fixed now. Anyone else have this happen. I have had no problems with this phone til now.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted incredible with the hydra kernel. i had the 1.13 and went to the 1.15 over clock kernel and my pone went into a reboot cycle and wouldnt start up. i was told to go to the format boot in the clockwork recovery so i did. now the phone will only start up in the bootloader screen it does the sd card check. any ideas? they are sending me a new phone but i really dont want to re set up the phone.

Once I booted into recovery, however, logcat worked. However, obviously since all I did was boot to recovery there was not a logcat there.

Droid Den - Phone Guide: How To Install Rooted Android 2.2 On Your HTC Desire - Droid Den. It went through applying the ROM but now I just have it stuck on the o2 splash screen and going no further. Can't seem to find a backup.zip anywhere on my ROM and thought to back out the change. What's the best way to go? Re-flash again?

It originally happened after I rooted my phone (original 1.5 software) following these directions: How To: Root the Samsung Behold 2 | The Unlockr. After that, I deleted DinerDash2, Midnight Bowling, Where's Waldo, IM, Talk, Amazon MP3, MyFaves, Telenav, HotSpot, Audio Postcard, Postcard.apk. When I tried to reboot my phone, I was stuck on the Samsung screen. I finally got the screen to go away, but a message repeatedly popped up saying the TwLauncher closed unexpectedly. Then I tried using ODIN and installing BH_Man's factory v1.6

I used the adb commands to delete the bloatware again. Restarted the phone and got the same problem. (Except I was stuck on the android screen.) I tried to install the factory v1.6 again, then immediately did a factory restore and then rebooted my screen once it loaded. Everything seemed okay. I uninstalled the stock games and rebooted again. It seemed to be working. When I uninstalled more apps (including CubeLauncher) and restarted the phone. What do I do? Did I uninstall something I am not supposed to? I think I might try installing the 1.6 No Twiz Kernel. I am sick of these "TwLauncher closed unexpectedly" messages.

View 31 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Inc with the Evo tool, and installed a ROM through ROM manager, after deciding that I did not want to keep the ROM, I tried to restore back to the stock rooted ROM I had before through the clockworkmod/nandroid options. Now the phone is stuck at the white screen that reads, "htc incredible" and none of the buttons will cause anything to happen. I was debating on doing a battery pull and restarting, but I believe I read somewhere that doing so would brick the phone.
Update: Did a battery pull and was able to boot into the HBOOT and run the nandroid recovery again, I am trying it now to see if I can get back to the original ROM.

After rerestoring the phone, the boot animation runs all the way through and the phone starts back up.
I rooted a few days ago and did the forever S-off. I have ROM Manager loaded and was poking around in the system. I downloaded Skyraider and ROM Manager asked me to reboot. Not thinking it wouldn't let me know what it was doing when in recovery before doing something the rom had been applied. Now the Phone has for 40+ minutes been at the "HTC Incredible" boot screen.
I have read not to pull the battery but The power Button and Volume button do nothing so I could really use some suggestions. As a little more info I have not flashed the radio yet so it was a 1.x radio that a 2.2 rom was just seemingly applied to.
Bricked or recoverable? I have a Nandroid backup if someone can help me get back to that point...
I am a bit new to android development, and am trying to implement a splash screen on top of an existing APK. The idea would be that the APK still runs exactly the same as before, but before it does, a splash screen displaying the developer's logo comes up for a few seconds. I know this is easy to do directly in the code for the original APK, but I am hoping to be able to accomplish it without editing that code. Can anyone point me in the right direction for doing that? I am not even sure if it is possible, but it seems like I just need to make a new APK file that runs just the splash screen and then calls the other application.

I successfully rooted yesterday. Installed wireless tether and was going to uninstall some bloatware. When I get to the ClockworkMod Recovery screen, it won't select anything. I can move up and down but when I select it with the power button, it just goes to a blank screen....like your locking the screen. When you hit the power button again, the menu comes back.
View 8 Replies View RelatedGot the WSOD on a non-rooted, stock 2.2 incredible last night. Pulling the battery is the only way to turn it off. Recovery and Factory Reset from hboot manager hang at the htc white screen. Clear Storage also goes straight to the white screen. If turned off it'll charge. SD card is not corrupted. Phone was in close proximity to an iphone 3g for maybe an hour. (We'd been comparing the screens then the iphone was placed on top of the incredible while we ate dinner.) Noticed that phone was at the white screen. Battery was not warm. No signs of external damage. Either this is totally random, or the RF from the iphone managed to fry something.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have clockwork recovery installed, and was running running Ruby 1.1.1 when I started having some SD card troubles. The card was getting write protected so I couldn't delete anything off of it through a file explorer on the phone, or with either of my microSD adapters. I was rebooting the phone with no card in there today and it just hung on the white HTC Incredible boot screen.
I tried going into clockwork and wiping everything and reinstalling Cyanogenmod 6, but now it just gets stuck on the cyanogenmod load screen.
Clockwork is throwing out a lot of errors about E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (file exists) and CACHE:recovery/command.
I have a simple application, it starts, loads xml feed from the net, you can browse a list of news and then read details for a chosen news item. What I would like to do is have a splash screen, meaning as soon as you click application, it should display an image (app name in my case) and then display news list only after they've loaded. I read about similar (I think) problems, and usually people say to use FrameLayout, but I can't really sort it out. I'm not sure if this can be done in the first activity that is launched, maybe I should just display this splash image in one activity and only then call activity displaying my news list? I know that on iPhone you can set splash screen in app settings while developing, would be nice to have this functionality in android's app's manifest.
