The HTC web site claims support for .mp4 and .wmv playback but I have had no luck. I have used various programs from HandBrake to Sony and I can get audio with no video (mp4). I can get audio with still image video (wmv). The DI seems very picky as to which videos it will actually play back. Is there a recommended way to convert my videos / DVS into a format the DI can play?

I have quite a few videos recorded in .m4v which will noth play on the Incredible. I have Hand Brake and DVD Fab 7. I tried DVD Fab 7 but it errors out trying to record them in WMV. Hand Brake seems to only record them in .m4v. Anyone have a good converter to recommend? I tried syncing with Media player but it still puts it in the wrong format.

But I got an error in both G1 device and emulator when streaming a rtsp url file: Command PLAYER_PREPARE completed with an error or info PVMFailure error(1, -1). Does anyone know what is this error, or anyone knows where can I get the error description (1, -1) means? the code can work successfully when playing a audio/video file or streaming a http protocal sudio/video file, but can't stream rtsp protocal file. Is android not supported rtsp streaming?

I have the htc droid Incredible Froyo installed. I'm shooting 1280x720 video. I've downloaded the 3gpp video/audio files to my computer and want to burn them to a cd or dvd.
How do I convert the 3gpp audio/video files to a format that can be viewed with a dvd player or on another computer? Do you know of any Conversion software that will accomplish this?
I have a 22 minute video shot at 720p resolution which consumed 1.24GB.
Running windows 7 64bit with the newest windows media player, fully updated in windows update. When I shoot a video on my phone it has audio (obviously), but when I copy it over to my PC and play it there is no sound.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time someone leaves me a voicemail on my home phone number, VOIP home phone voice mail box sends me the voicemail as a .wav file attachment. When I try to play this .wav file the phone refuses, saying "Sorry, the player does not support this type of audio file".
So, I take it the .wav files cannot be played on Android phones. Has anyone found a workable and simple workaround to this yet?

I need to be able to read audio bytes from a network and feed them to the audio system under my control, so I can do my own timeouts / reconnects / range requests / etc. without interrupting the audio playback (since the system audio thread would be playing audio already enqueued). It seems that MediaPlayer doesn't give me this level of control. Is there a lower-level framework that does, either in the SDK or NDK?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAccording to the MS website, Windows Media Player queries an MTP device to see what formats it supports. My Razr Maxx HD supports ogg and m4a. When attempting to sync WMP does not sync those files stating they might not be supported on the device. Being that I've had so much trouble in the past even getting any of the Android devices to be properly detected as an MTP device I'm worried this is a driver issue.I should be able to get WMP to at least convert them.
this is the device mis-reporting the formats, Windows not querying them properly, or an actual WMP issue? Would like to be able to get sync working without any conversions. Maybe there is a way to hardcode formats within the mtp inf file?

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy application cannot handle the JNIE overhead, as I need to make 2 JNIE calls to the native C/C++ code for every 20msec. So I am trying to use the native media libraries and the realted C/C++ files provided by Android in the folder "//external/srec/audio/test" of the donut build. Ex. AudioHardwareRecord, AudioInRecord etc.. I am implementing all the calls in the native layer.
I am using the sampling rate as 8000 and want to read 160 samples (320 bytes) at a time.
I used the following values to create the AudioRecord..

It says "success" after creating this interface but I am getting the error "Bad Value" if I am doing the InitCheck.
And it is crashing once I start reading the samples or if I try to retrieve the configured sampling rate.
Has anybody tried to access this native code?
