I just want notifications for text messages. But I don't see any options to turn off the notification for just emails. I looked under sound and notifications but can't find it.

How do I turn off repeat email/text notifications? I only want it to tell me once when something new comes in. Mine alerts every 5 minutes until I clear it. This drives me up the wall when I'm sleeping, driving, playing on the phone, etc...

All of a sudden, when I do the same thing, it opens up the G mail In box and I have to click the email itself to open it. Am I delusional and this is how it's always been?

More specifically, opening menus is not as smooth and switching screens is a little choppy. Also... I do not get notifications on my sms and email icons when i have a new message or a email. I am going to be using the ustream broadcaster app over 3g to stream a concert this weekend.
I do not want the app to be interrupted by anything while im using it.. no phone calls, no txt and no notifications. As it is now if a phone call comes through it will interrupt the app to take the call. If I decline the call the stream will not restart by itself. I know i can turn off different apps notifications but how can I go about not letting phone calls or txts through?
I cant just put it into airplane mode since i need 3g and im a little lost on what options I would have.
I did a factory re-set on my phone, and I use Handcent as my preferred IM application. Previously, I had "turned off" the notification sounds from the stock HTC messaging app, but now I cannot remember where I did that. I have gone to settings, but I cannot find how to turn it off for the life of me. Now I get double notifications, and I only want Handcent notifications.

Missed call, On the storm I was able to purchase a 3rd party app that let me choose a different color for each item and adjust how frequent the light would blink and things like that.
Starting today I haven't been getting my usual HTC email notifications and when I open the HTC mail client the messages are there, but I get an error message that says, "Alert, There is not enough free space. Please delete some messages and try again." I'm also not able to send photos via the photo app by email. The message sends but not the attachment, only a 1 kb attachment which isn't the photo at all. My phone storage is virtually empty and I always keep my inboxes clear. I've had this phone since launch with no real problems until now. I did update adw.launcher, launcher pro, smooth calendar and alarm clock yesterday if that helps. I called Verizon and they told me to do a factory reset. This shouldn't be happening two months later on a perfectly running phone, should it? I trust everyone on this forum over the Verizon tech support every day of the week.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm curious to know if there is a way to increase the LED notifications for emails and texts to anything more then 5 minutes. It seems kinda pointless to notify for only 5 minutes especially if you are away from your phone or did not hear any notifiers. After 5 minutes you will still need to unlock the phone to check for something. I have just moved from the Motorola Droid to the Incredible and noticed that the Droid's LED notification blinked until the message was open regardless of that duration. Any ideas?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen the INC is sleeping I can feel the vibrate or hear the notification sound, however, it won't wake up or let me know that I have something waiting for me just by glancing at it from a distance if it's sleeping. This isn't an issue if I am in a quiet environment, but otherwise it is. I have checked all the settings and there doesn't seem to be a way to make this happen.

Up until recently, I would get a single notification for each new e-mail message that came in. Now when I get a notification that an e-mail has come in I get a follow-up notification every five minutes or so until I open my e-mail program. This started happening even though I didn't change any settings. I have been unable to find a setting either in HTC's e-mail or in Gmail to undo this. I think, but am not sure, that this started up when I upgraded to 2.3.4.

I only get my email to show up on my inbox on my phone ONLY when i open email. View 6 Replies View RelatedI just pulled the battery to do a reset last night after a lockup and today I'm getting notifications everytime I get a new email. it never used to do this and i figured it was just cause I didn't use the gmail. now I'm thinking that it just might be one of the background tasks that I was always killing. I recently switched to home++ and I didn't use the built in task killer all day. so I guess my question is, does anyone know which background task would control this so I don't kill it? also, is there a place to go in the settings to change the led color for email alerts?

The second is an SMS notification and it goes into my text messages.I have no need for the SMS notification if it's already giving me the standard VM notification, but have been unable to find out how to turn it off.My phone isn't rooted, and I don't plan on doing so in the near future, in case that has any bearing on potential solutions.

I use Jorte as my calendar app. Every night where I am scheduled to work later that day, at midnight, I get a chime for that all day event. How do I turn this off, but not ALL of the notifications? Just for the all day ones.

I have searched and learned I need to turn my notifications in settings off. But I can't figure out how to do that. People say go to setting>notifications>and turn it off. But when I go to >setting, then there is no >notifications option. The only notifications setting I can find is under >sound>notification ringtone, but not an option to turn it off or on.
