So I installed a theme, and the 8/26 froyo, and the stuff needed to get there, but now I have the .zip's hanging out on my SD card. Once installed, can I delete these from my card?

View 5 Replies View RelatedLike a moron, I got so excited about the Froyo OTA, I forgot to unroot before I upgraded.Luckily for me, the upgrade installed without any errors. The only negative (big one i might add) is that the Android Market is not installed on the phone.Luckily for me I have a backup of about 90% of my apps and was able to reinstall them (after I did a factory reset in the hopes of the market installing itself). My phone is working regualry for the most part besides the last 5 or 6 apps that I installed and hadn't backed up on the sd card.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI don't know if I just opened a can of worms but is this even possible? View 5 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if I am able to detect if my application was installed with Android Market (it's in the download list of the Market and eligible for update checks) or it's not?It would be a very good point to detect if the app has been installed without, as that can mean it was stolen and installed from SDcard.

If an Android 2.2 Tablet doesnt have the Android market Place then is there any simple method to install various third party android .apk files directly from the webpage to the Internet Tablet
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my ROM, and as soon as done, started having lots of problems installing apps:
* the play store on my computer would report applications not available for my device, even though I had downloaded and installed them before
* the search in the phone play store application could not find those apps, and when given a direct link would show them as incompatible
* modded version of vending.apk failed to download with the following error: "app name" could not be downloaded due to an error. (942)
* trying to install the backed up apk manually gave me the error "Application not installed"
* restoring titanium backup failed and left the restore process hanging
* manually copying the apk to /system/app/ and fixing the permissions still did not show the app
I tried many things, different roms, different ril, different mods of Vending.apk and GoogleServicesFramework.apk, clearing data and cache, deleting files in .android_secure, etc, nothing worked. Searching the forum brought up many posts about other people with the same problem, but no working solution.
Finally, I found the solution: I was using the wrong gapps package! The one I had flashed was for 2.3.2, my previous rom, whereas the new one was based on 2.3.7. It did not occur to me, that there could be enough changes to break market functionality, since I was sticking to gingerbread.
If you have the same problem, head to [URL] ..... and pay close attention to the table matching the right google apps package to your android version. Download it, and flash through recovery.
When I load a new ROM and need to reinstall my apps there are usually a couple I don't want to install. Is there anyway to remove them from the "Not Installed" under "My Apps"? It seems like since I once downloaded and installed an app, it will always be there.
If I can't remove them, then I can't use the bulk install option and have to manually start all the installs.
I downloaded the 2.1 zip to sd card, and cleaned all off of sd card, EXCEPT the zip file. Put the other 1.5 files on another sd card Installed 2.1, no issues at all. Runs great. Do I need to put those misc files back on, or are they included in 2.1.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have used Uninstaller to try to remove an app on my rooted Hero.
It certainly seems like it is removed. But, when I go to the Market to try to reinstall it, it as listed as "installed" in the Downloads section. When I click on it, both the "Open" and "Uninstall" buttons are grayed out. So, I can't even reinstall it.
The app is Yellowbook (US Yellow Pages Search).
Is there some residual file on my phone that I might be able to delete with ES File Explorer or via adb?
I don't think this is an issue specific to my phone model. When I go into the Android Market (or Play Store) and I look at my apps it previously showed purchased apps but now it shows all the apps I've ever installed. If I want to install an app I purchased previously I have to search through all the hundreds of apps I have ever installed!
I've tried to find a resolution via Google but I keep getting results showing how to clear market search history.
Like I said, previously before I upgraded to ICS the market only showed installed apps and purchased apps that I haven't installed, now it shows every app I have ever installed and it seems to include apps I installed on my android tablet!

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe problem is maintaining apps that were NOT installed from the Market, but from .apk files scattered in various directories on the SD card. What I need is a tool that combines the functionality of an app manager like Easy Installer together with details of all currently-installed apps: In a single big list sorted by app name, I'd like to see the installed version (if any), plus every available .apk file and the version it contains. That would make it SO much easier to know if I need to update installed apps with a newer version, and to delete multiple .apk files of outdated versions.
I've seen lots of apps (including the Apps menu built into Android Settings) to view the installed apps and their version info -- and also lots of apps to scan the whole SD card for .apk files and display the actual app info (name, version, etc.) vs. just the filenames. What's missing is an easy way to compare all these.
I've found today that my recently published app on the Android Market, is not showing up on this device Market: Samsung Apollo. I've already followed this tutorial to make my app accessible to almost all devices configuration and it still don't show on that device's Market.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAs you may all know Desire has nearly 150mb internal memory for applications so I'm doing my best to use it wisely,
My problem occured when I start to install and uninstall many applications just for testing. I've seen that every installed and uninstalled application leaves some files that fills up this 150mb.
At my phone I had, CoPilot live + Several games + Google Earth. Now I've none and but when I try to install CoPilot or Google Earth I'm facing the fact that there is no space left.
I think applications might be leaving installer file behind when applications installed through HTC Sync, this might be the only logical reason.
I'd like to create a very simple android activity that takes a file path on the sd card and displays the contents of that directory in a listview.
I know how to get a list of the files via File.listFiles() which returns an Array of File objects. What I want to know is how I can adapt that array to a ListView. Would an ArrayAdapter be the right thing to use and how would I do that?
