I have set the phone for USB debugging. I will select it as a hard drive and yet my computer will still not recognize it and I would love to be able to just click and drag files and folders onto my phone.What am I doing wrong?

I have been pulling my hair trying to read forums and find the correct solution to my issue. Whenever I connect to the computer whether its on "charger only", "disk drive", or whatever, it still doesn't allow me to access my SD card.I've tried the following:
1. uninstalling doubletwist
2. connecting, going back from charger only to disk drive.
3. ejecting the removable hardware and switching from charger only to disk drive and still nothing.
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate this.
I have two WiFi access points in my house, due to thick walls. When I turn on my phone it searches and connects to the first access point it finds, which is not necessarily the one with the strongest signal. e.g. I have one access point on channel 10 (lounge) and another on channel 1 (bedroom). When I'm in the lounge it always connects to the A/P in the bedroom, unless I actively "forget" that network, even though the signal strength of the one in the bedroom is VERY weak. Is there a way to force it to pick the strongest A/P?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a set of "Anycom" stereo Bluetooth headphones, and when I try to connect them to my Incredible, the "pair" right away and the Inc recognizes them for what they are. The problem is all I get is a "Paired but not connected" message, under my Bluetooth settings. I hit "connect" and it does momentarily, then it goes back to that same message. I'm not getting the prompt for the "0000" pin input, which I think may be the problem as the headphones may be waiting for that to be inputted.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a problem that I'm hoping somone will be able to help me with.I work at a hospital that has complimentary wi-fi for all of the patients and guests.I get a signal in the lab and am able to connect with my Incredible.However, this network has one of those stipulations that you open a browser to complete the setup.If on a laptop, you would open the browser and then accept the terms of use for using the internet. I'm wondering how I can go about getting fully connected with my Incredible.I've tried opening up the browser that came with the phone and I've also tried using Opera Mini 5.Neither one goes to that page so I can accept the TOU.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my wifi no longer connects to my home network automatically. I need to go in to the wireless settings then in to the wifi settings menu itself, where I'll see my network "Not in range-remembered" for a second and then it'll connect itself. It wasn't like this a few days ago, and I don't think this happens at the 2 other wireless networks I frequent, I'll try and remember to check tomorrow when I drop off my son at the in-laws.
I deleted the network and added it back in, still no auto connect. I rebooted the phone and it connected once, then after I turned off wifi and turned it back on, it went back to needing a manual connect, which it really isn't even that. It just doesnt want to connect unless I go in to the wifi settings.
Now I wish there was a way to connect my Non-Rooted Froyo Incredible to Ad-Hoc WiFi networks, but I can't seem to find a way. Does anyone know of any ways to connect my Incredible to my Ad-Hoc WiFi networks? Because that would be the only reason I would root my incredible, but I wouldn't do it if there wasn't a solution available.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have really bad signal at our place, so we had to buy a network extender, which did a great job.
We recently got Incredibles. On the network extender, when you make a call, it will beep twice to tell you you're connected on it. Which it's still been doing with our new phones.
However, when I was away from home this week, I noticed the incredible still beeps for every call. So I'm wondering if it's even connecting to the extender? We keep getting the infamous reboot at home, so that'd make me think it's not connecting to the extender because our bars are still at 0-1 and we keep rebooting at home. I didn't reboot once in 50 some hours with being away. I usually don't make it to 12 hours while home.
Do I have to do something to set up a new phone? I was positive all I did last time was enter in the phone number.
Just got the incredible from another member and it was fresh off a factory reset and i tried to add my google account it it just keeps telling me it cant establish a reliable data connection. i tried it on both 3g and wifi same results what do i do now its basically unusable at this point?

I plug the Incredible into the USB port and get a popup (see attached).
If I dismiss the popup with the upper right corner X, then I have no problems and can charge the Incredible.
But if I select the VZ drivers, Windows 7 32-bit gives me a BSOD. The BSOD message only appears briefly but says something like DRIVER_IRQP_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The "Safely Remove Hardware" in the system tray does not mention the Droid Inc.
I should clarify that I get this behaviour whether I click on the Install Drivers or Open Folders. Also, the behaviour is the same whether my Incredible is set to Charge Only or Disk drive.
I have no idea where to go to get these (probably routine, simple) questions asked. Thanks for answers/links. I just purchased my phone and I'm really excited. And nervous, is that weird? 1. I have a MacBook Pro w/ my music on itunes, although I didn't buy any of it through them. Is there any issue with connecting my new phone to my computer and getting my music stuff on it? Is it easy or do I need to read about how to do it from somewhere? FWIW, easy to me = drag and drop, or have it automatically transfer.
1a. I am hoping to replace my ipod touch with this device. Realistic? Or silly dream?
2. What should I do to the phone when I first get it? Are there things Verizon includes that I should delete (like when you first buy a computer and it's preloaded w/ a ton of crap)? Are there things I need to immediately get?
2b. I assume those things I need to immediately get are apps. Can I browse them now w/out the phone or can I only do it from the phone? What are the "must haves"? Is there a website that lists the most popular/useful apps?
3. Is there a good tutorial for how to get the most out of Android? Or do I just monkey around and see what I like/dislike?
4. Should I root this thing? Not quire sure what that means, but it seems to be what the cool kids do.
4b. Other than paying for the teething thing from VZW, is rooting the only way to get that ability?
I got my DInc replaced, and im putting some media back on my phone. When I mounted my phone im getting 3 drives now. E drvie which is my phone storage F drive which is my memory card and a new super secret D drive, which has weird content in it.a program called TL-Bootstrap.exe?? Any ideas of what the hell this is. Im not running this .exe till I know whats what.

It did when I first got the phone, but now if I turn on wifi and try to connect to it the phone doesn't even try and it just stays at a "disconnected" state. Any ideas why this is? I will be trying it on a different wifi connection later, but nothing has changed for my wifi connection so I am not sure why it just randomly stopped working.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my phone to to my Windows XP laptop via USB, I no longer get asked what type of connection (i.e. "Charge only," "Disk drive," etc.), even though "Ask me" is checked under the phone's Connect to PC settings. The USB icon doesn't show up on the notification bar either (though the battery icon shows it's charging).
On the laptop side, the 2 drives (SD, phone storage) do show up in Windows Explorer (as previously), but when I choose either, I get "Please insert a disk into drive F:." (or G:).
I've tried setting the phone's default connection type to "Charge only" and to "Disk Drive" but the behavior is the same either way.
This might have started with the Froyo update, but I think I've had it working since then.
I can't seem to get my phone recognized on my PC? I have installed the CD on my pc that came with the phone.Here's the screen shot that I have up:I can't seem to be able to get the program to recognize my phone? View 6 Replies View RelatedLove my new Incredible.I upgraded from an LG Dare, so one thing I'm trying to figure out is the difference between using WiFi vs 3G access.Am I correct that you always use 3G for making calls, but can use either WiFi or 3G for apps and surfing.I'm assuming leaving WiFi on uses battery, but when I have WiFi access does it drain the battery less than 3G.Also, does the phone decide when to use one vs the other or do I decide if WiFi is available to me?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince doing the OTA Froyo update on my Incredible I can not access the SD card when charging. I have gone into Settings > Connect to PC and default connection is set to Charging only. I have tried it with "Ask Me" both checked and unchecked, pulled the battery, etc. When connecting power it doesn't ask anyway as it knows it's power and not a computer connection. But as soon as any charger (have multiple chargers) is connected the SD card is unmounted. Unplugging power shows the sd card remounting. It's a big probably because if you want to let's say listen to a podcast or music on the sd card, I cant charge the phone at the same time.

What am I doing wrong Ok it actually is connecting to both, but the drive for internal memory is saying please insert a disk into (E). I know they are both from the incredible from looking at the 'safely remove hardware' section of the PC and checking the box to display components.
