Is there a simple way of copying text (or partial text) from an SMS. I feel like selecting "Forward Message" and then copying the text (or portions of the text) from the editable field is too unnecessary.

i recently went from a blackberry storm to a HTC incredible. Big switch haha. So my question, the other day one of my friends txted me and asked for another one of my friend's number. So i figured out how to send the Vcard through MMS but my friend didnt have MMS on his phone plan. SO, how do you just copy a contacts number and paste it in a text.
I wanted to know if there is some stock app on the DI that I'm missing or do I need to download an app to do this.I miss being able to copy or cut text and paste it on another text message or e-mail which I could do on my previous phone.If there is another app I need, please advise.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been a couple of days trying to solve this thing but I can'f figure it out.The problem is, simple activity, with simple layout, ScrollView -> LinearLayout -> and a lot of buttons inside the layout (within the scroll content). Everything works just fine but one tricky thing. When I click a button let's say at the top of the scroll content and inmediatelly I scroll down to the bottom of the content and I click other button there, nothing happens until I click a second time and all come to normal again.This can be reproduced anytime and it's code independent (i've tried more than 20 scenarios). I've not much experience in android yet but looks like the scroll listener stops the onclick listener or something like that.

My goal is to have something pretty much exactly like the installed application details page in the Android Market.I need a list of items displayed along with other content above the list, and would like the content above to scroll up along with the list (exactly like the application details does for the "My Review" and other descriptive info).Due to responses to my previous posts, I came to believe that it really wasn't possible to do this with a ListView.So rather than using a ListView, I refactored my code to use a simple LinearLayout and add individual View items to the list, thinking I could just set each View as clickable and add an OnClickListener to each View in the LinearLayout.That's not working at all though, and now I'm getting even more frustrated.If someone can help me get the OnClickListener working, then I think it'll work, but I do need a separator for the LinearLayout.How do I add a separator like the one used for ListView to my LinearLayout?
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo far I have had bad luck with the signal/call quality. This is not just me not liking the number of bars but actually loosing all signal, not being able to make or receive calls, and it draining the crap out of the battery.Facts:
1) When outside, in my car, near the windows in buildings, the call quality is great
2) A Moto Droid in the same office gets acceptable signal and call quality
3) This is an issue anytime I'm in a building; Lowes, Walmart, the pet store, a mexican resturant... anything larger then my house.
4) My old iPhone never a problem in all of these places.
5) The side affect is it kills my battery life. I purchased the seido extended battery and it is always down to 30% by the time i leave work at 5pm (10 hours off the charger) On the weekends it lasts 40-60 hours no problem.
After talking with a Verizon Tech she told me they would send me a new phone. But due to the back order I won't get it before the end of the month. Which scares me since that puts me out of the 30 day return policy. So I asked her about that and she said this would extend it another 30 days. Which I wish I had in writing but heres for hoping this works because I love the phone when it works
This is nothing new, but I just used the Genie Widget from the Nexus One for the first time and I really love it and think that it looks good with the other HTC Sense Widgets.....So in case anyone wants to give it a try or hasnt seen it before here it is.

But I notice everytime I drag and add an app inside the folder there is no way (at least that I can find) to move them around in the order I would like them to be in. Theres no way to drag them around and organize them without taking them out completely then re adding them in order. Am I doing something wrong? Is this possible? If not with stock folders is there an app that lets me do this?

I noticed when looking inside the battery cover, it looks like there's a part of it, inside, that looks melted. It goes from the camera hole to the charging port hole just on the cover itself. Can someone check there cover to see if it's just a manufacturing thing?

Is the voicemail application inside of the messages application actually Verizon's Visual Voicemail? I saw on the market that there was an app for VVM, nd the interface looks different. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using a Legend atm- and I'm thinking of getting the Desire/Galaxy S, but I'm not sure how I can copy back over my contacts from my Phone to my SIM card.When I first got the phone I copied over my contacts from my SIM to my phone and then cleared out the SIM card- but now I don't get an option from People to Export to SIM card, but I get the option to Export to SD. Having done so I'm not sure if I did it properly because there also isn't an option under View to see info from the SD card- only from Google, Phone and SIM.I really can't be bothered getting an app for this lol. I don't really want to do Google Sync because it isn't exactly as re-assuring as having the info in a SD/SIM card you can hold.So really how do I copy over my contacts from Phone to SIM/Phone to SD Card? And how can I check to see if I've done so properly (I will uncheck Phone from the View menu in People)?Also- how to move all my SMS's from my Phone to SIM/Phone to SD as well?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi tried all the apps (doubletwist, isyncr etc.) but i found it to be easier just copying the music folders into my phone ; just like i do on itunes. i was just wondering if i drag a folder in to my phone when its already in there, will it copy twice? i.e i have a folder for singles that i download off sites like hotnewhiphop & when i only download one song i drag it to that folder. so will i be able to constantly drag that folder on to my phone every few days & will it only update the new songs or will it multiply every song - everytime i do this.

Nothing works.It is as if copying works for the first file (though not always), but then the phone resets the connection and I have to re-enable the connection.The USB drivers are from the CD. I have the latest firmware. Is there some trick to enable proper copying to and from the i7500? This is driving me nuts.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an app that backs up and restores the saves of all Angry Birds Versions. For devices with Android 1.5 or higher I've written a simple input/output file stream, and it works.
On device with Android 4.1 or higher (due probably to the increased security) the Angry Birds saves require more permissions to be copied from my app (rwx isn't enough). Is there a way to change the permission adding root access in my app or is there a solution without adding root?
What is the difference between installing an apk in the normal way, and just copying the apk to /data/app and then rebooting?
If i use the copy method, some apps work while most give FCs....

On the first phone there are some stock ringtones I like that are not on the other phone (both regular ringtones and notification ringtones). I want to copy the ones I like from the first phone and put them on the second phone. I tried looking through the folders on the first phone and can't find any ringtones. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Iconia A500 tab, rooted. The problem is everytime I try to copy an MKV file to the SD inside my tab my windows crashes and restarts. I tried copying other files to the SD and it works like the charm, but when it comes to MKV files it crashes. Note I can copy large files into the SD just not MKV files This makes me mad for a good reason. I've tried and tried solutions, but seem to not come to a happy understanding.
P.S! I have ICS also I do not know why I can't mount my external HDD to the tab either.
