I have 4 htc switches on my home screen, Wifi, Bluetooth, Mobile & GPS. The mobile one is not working all of the time, infact today ts not working at all, all the others are fine anyone else had these problems. Hero is rooted and running modaco's latest rom.

I've installed Froyo on a T-Mobile branded Desire. After the update, turning on USB tethering leads to immediate loss of mobile network - it just turns itself off. Same goes for the mobile Wifi hotspot: turn on -> for 2 seconds, it's working -> mobile network drops off. Moving into airplane mode and back brings back the network, but tethering is a goner. With 2.1, USB tethering had worked. I'm on Base, a brand of e-plus. I've talked to their customer services, they say Base absolutely supports tethering.
All I want to do is from time to time check my mails. For this, I want to activate the mobile network connection (3G) manually for a short period of time, and then de-activate it again.
The problem is that enabling the "mobile network" checkbox after my phone has been idle for some time, doesn't actually activate the 3G connection. (no "H" or "G" icon in the notification bar)
So when I open the mail app it complains with a "connection failed" message.
Even better would be if I could find a way to have my mails automatically checked whenever the connection is activated ...
Other than that I'm very happy with the phone.
I have only one or two sites I regularly visit that require the mobile version of the site to be rendered. It's too much of a pain to constantly go into settings and check and uncheck the mobile box. Is there a way to make this easier?

I believe the app Quick Settings added the [disabled] to the APN file when I attempted to use the Mobile Data Switch. See below. Now Quick Settings Says "No APN Configured". I've emailed the dev. If so, I will remove the [disabled] to restore the file to its original state. Everything seemed to be working fine despite the [disabled] setting though, but I didn't test MMS. Current (modified by Quick Settings?) APN File from my Verizon HTC Droid Incredible:

I used APN Backup & Restore to save the file to the SDCard so I could view and edit the file using a text editor (such as notepad) in windows. You can get APN Backup & Restore on the market for free.

Ok, so I've been trying out Tasker for a day or so and loving it. Here's what I want to do: When @ home, make my wifi switch on and mobile data switch off. Anyone know how to do that? It says the mobile data switch in the app won't work for CDMA networks (requires APNdroid).
Is there anyway to tap into the widget that HTC has on our phones because that switch seems to work just fine to turn the data off. I simply want Tasker to do it automatically based on a location Context.
I found that when my WiFi is on, when screen is off due to screen timeout, when I try to open screen again by pressing menu button or power button, nothing happened, I need to switch the mobile on again by pressing power button long press (not normal press to open as usual if you switched off manually)
someone told me because mobile is duos, may be you have only two gateway, when WiFi is one with access of data plan of two Sim cards, may be doing conflict, actually last week I switch data plan access between two Sims last week and I think this problem came with this action, I delete APN access points from one of two Sims but it didn't solve this problem.

I've tried Battery-fu but I get an apn error all the time which stops the mobile data toggle working - which kinda defeats the object.
It would be handy to have mobile data ennoblement automated in case three battery gets low when you're not near a power source.
Phone Vibration switches off each time you switch off the mobile. It gets annoying that you need to switch on the vibrator each time you switch on mobile. It seems that the setting for vibration is not stored, or gets erased each time.

View 17 Replies View RelatedThe switch has been a bit finicky for a few months. Today it stopped working all together. I couldn't turn the phone on except my plugging in power. Then I couldn't shut it off. I pulled the battery to try and reboot but now I can't turn it on. I opened the back but there is a star shaped screw and another with a void sticker on it. I was thinking of taking a look at the button leads to see if there is something lodged in there of perhaps if they were just dirty, I could clean them to get a better connection....but I will be crossing a line if I do.
The big question is....who do I turn to regarding a repair? Since I bought it from google, I don't think T-mobile will help. Once I finally reach the right person at google, they will most likely say ship it to us and we will look at it when we get around to it.
I seem to have a weird problem on my HTC Sensation. I have been noticing that when the phone switches from Wifi to 'H', the mobile data stops working. I can see the signal bars so no problems with making calls, text etc. I have tried putting phone into airplane more, resetting mobile data and a couple of apps that reset the mobile data stack. None of that has worked. The only way I have made it work is by restarting the phone - quite frustrating. The mobile data then starts working. It has only happened when 'H' is displayed as the mobile data.

I have a basic calculator app I'm making. Two activities, the main one and ResultView.
I've made it where I click a button on activity A to go to activity B. The log says activity B is started and "displayed" successfully, the title for the new activity loads, but the body does NOT show. I added a simple Text view with static text.. see the result.xml at the bottom. I also tried inserting information programmatically, but that didn't do.
When I debug the program, I tried putting breakpoints as the activity is called with startActivity() as well as on the first line of the onCreate method within the ResultView class (my activity "B") but the program never hits the second breakpoint. In fact, it looks as if Looper.class is called in the end.

I just cannot believe whats happening with my brand new cell phone. Initially when i purchased it , this device started restarting. And when i complain to the SE they told me the battery connecter is damaged. So they sent my cell phone to Dubai SE. Got it replaced, and no restart yet. BUT the right side screen flickers and the switch on/off button is not working. So i cannot switch off my cell phone. If i remove battery and then again insert it, then phone start automatically without using the switch on button. What must be done, i have purchased this cell phone in Qatar and now i am in India. Please help this is so kinda heartbreaking
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been getting this error near constantly the past day whenever I hit the Home button, and when the ui is working it's extremely slow to switch between screens. I can get the error near 100% of the time by opening an applicatio, then hitting the Home button. Then HTC Sense closes, sits at "loading" for a bit, then the phone is back to normal, albeit slow, till the next time I hit Home.
I had been running a live wallpaper of the Earth rotating in the background, and notice it rotates fine for about 3 seconds, pauses, then starts again, so something is eating up the processor I'd think?
I've uninstalled all recently installed applications. Stopped the live wallpaper. Stopped Locale. Stopped background sync, then turned it back on. Installed a task killer to see if there's a common element (none). Tried leaving the battery out for a minute.
Two days back I had upgraded my X10mini to andriod 2.1. 24 hours after upgrade the screen got freezed. Its showing FM screen and the restart button is also not working. If I press the power button, screen lights on for some time and goes off. I can't remove the battery as the battery is fixed. Please let me know if you know some other way to restart the phone.

Only problems I've had is is difficulty with using the keypad at times (wrong key getting pressed)and occasional phone lagging. all the great reviews I've been reading I have been considering upgrading to the EVO. My son got the EVO two weeks ago and has been having a nightmare with the battery draining very quickly and the phone shutting itself off at times. He just exchanged his EVO for a new one yesterday. I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up for headaches making the move to an EVO. This is further complicated that because I am at the end of my 30 day trial period I would not have time to switch back if the EVO didn't turn out to be a good thing. All feedback greatly appreciated.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed the newest MoDaCo Custom Rom 3.1 on my Hero. Yesterday, I started wifi tether to get online. It worked very well for about five hours, but then. Hero crashed. it was switched off and since then I cannot do anything with the Hero not even switch it on I tried to take off the battery, SIM card and SD card, but the problem is still present. Could somebody tell me what to do to get my Hero alive again?

I noticed the other day a forum member BigRick10 posted a link so that us non-verizon customers could use NFL Mobile on our phones. Since then NFL Mobile has stopped working for many of the people that of downloaded it. This is what you have to do to get it working again:
Uninstall NFL Mobile from your phone.
Go to this link on your phone (yes I know thats the same link given by BigRick10 but once downloaded it works again).

Please do not use the text notifications, it will not work and send your texts to another number (MobiTV checks the number against the db at Verizon to see if the number is active, so a dummy phone is used). Also I would like to add, I noticed that one of the moderators closed the thread that BigRick10 started because the moderator thought this was piracy. This app is FREE to download on Verizon. Verizon just makes its customers have Vcast inorder to use this app but the app is free to download. The link I provided will not work on Verizon phones. There is another link for Verizon customers to get around paying for Vcast but your on your own with that one.
The classic version of Google works just fine. But the mobile version does not work. It comes up, I input an item to search, but then the search function doesn't work. The "hot key" if that is what it is called - the one one the face of our phones next to the back button works fine, too.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday my swype trial expired and the forum at xda was updated and removed the apk due to the swype developers request. I tried an uninstall and reinstall of version 1.61.37xxxx from my SD card but it was for naught.
Also the NFL mobile app gave me the "you are not a Verizon wireless customer" message on start up and I did an uninstall and reinstall of that as well and it was a no go. I remember this happened before and you just needed to get the new apk but I can't find it anywhere.
Anyone else having trouble with the NFL mobile app? I go to it, and the "running" icon is just spinning, but nothing happens. This just started having probs today. I uninstalled it, and installed a new one, still same issue.
