On my old iphone and my new EVO 4g, the screen blacks out when calling someone so that you cant accidentally touch the screen and end a call.My wifes hero does not do this, does anyone know if this can be fixed?

I understand that the hero has no proximity sensor, and so does not lock the screen while talking on the phone. So has anyone been having problems with pressing on-screen buttons with their face and stuff? Has the absence of the proximity sensor been an issue with the Hero?

I know the phone works because the LED light will come on showing a text message and I can plug my phone into my computer and transfer music/photos. Or at the very least, use my computer to look at my text messages which are kind of important.
I have already tried taking out the battery with no success.
I have this strange issue in iOS4 where in the Video which is playing in MPMoviePlayerController blacks out when the user performs certain kind of gestures over the screen. I'm simply creating a UIViewController and object for MPMoviePlayerController and then setting the View onto the UIViewController.I want to ask if this issue is solvable or not, and whats the correct way of playing a streaming video on iPhone.And if there is way that I can use a overlay view over MPMoviePlayerController and capture all gestures and pass on single taps or touches to MPMoviePlayerController for general functionality of MPMoviePlayerController and avoiding Gestures that is causing the issue.Please help me solving the problem with the Best possible solution and please help me in elaborating the solution.

She's new to the phone itself, so is she doing something wrong or is this just a con of smartphones? Or is this a Droid thing and not an EVO thing?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust got my sprint hero last week. I noticed that while talking on the phone for longer than 5 minutes the phone seems to get extremely hot. In particular the speaker in the front and where the camera is in the back. The heat generated is really intense and is really uncomfortable after a certain amount of time. What I want to know is anybody else having this issue?

My understanding was that I could use my WiFi connection to browse the internet and such while I was talking on the phone? Is that right? It seems that everytime I'm on the phone (usually on bluetooth), the EVO disconnects immediately from my WiFi at home? Do I have some setting off.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy friend claims that when he plugs his G1 into his car stereo AUX input, he can leave his phone on the dash and just make regular calls w/o using speaker phone. He says that the voice is pretty clear on the other end. Has anyone tried this with their previous phones? More importantly, does anyone know if the mic on the EVO would be sensitive enough to make descent calls via AUX? I know that it would depend on the background noise in the cabin as well, but I just wanna know if it'll work decently in an average car. this would alleviate the need for a bluetooth headset, which i dread using.

Today I decided to give my Incredible a whirl with using it as a music player while in my car, so that I don't have to also carry my ipod. Plugged it in to my auxiliary jack and music sounded GREAT! Then I received a phone call and the phone rang through the speakers, which I expected, as well as expected to hear the voice of the caller....what i DIDN'T realize was that my bluetooth was on my ear but OFF for the entire conversation and I was talking back through the car's speakers!! I don't have bluetooth in my car so found this pretty awesome and thought I'd share this small wonder with anyone else who might be interested

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Desire and have Google Maps installed, but when I want to go somewhere, it doesn't tell me my turns and what street to turn on. I only see the map and that's it. When maps was installed I had a popup that advised that I should download text to speech as well, which I did. I've watched on utube and the videos show turn by turn speech happening on the videos. When I call or recive calls i get a second calling sound that continus through the conversation? so I have the the "doooo..........dooooo.......doooo...." sound in the background when I have a conversation. I have installed severeal apps. but non that I believe influence the calling telephone app.

However, the phone does not seem to recharge while using the phone or while playing games (I'm addicted to RoboDefender already ). Is this normal? I've only charged it from my workstation and laptop so far. Does the phone gain charge from the included USB adapter? Can I use a dual-lead USB cable to get charged on the laptop/workstation (cables with one data USB cable and one for power)?
View 7 Replies View RelatedGot my Incredible yesterday and I have noticed a problem that is really bugging me. When I call people, at random my ear piece seems to give a noisy/scratchy feedback. The other party does not hear it, but I hear it through the ear piece. It is not when they speak, but only when I do, as if the microphone is producing feedback that comes through the speaker.
I have also noticed that I found myself asking what people say a lot, as if though they are muffled or using the speaker phone when they are, in fact, not.
I called Verizon and they are going to have me swap it out at the store tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this issue. Hopefully it is just a rare incident.
I feel Verizon has it out for me since they also ported my number when my phone was still with FedEx in Memphis. Either that, or I just have really bad luck.
My phone wont stop talking to me! How do I make it stop?
