General :: Downloaded Apps Not Appearing - How To Make Shortcut
Jun 29, 2012I just got my first smartphone and downloaded some apps off the play market. However, an icon never appeared on my home screen that links to them. I can access them by opening the market back up, searching for the app, and running it there. But I can't seem to figure out how to make a shortcut.

Oct 7, 2010Over the last 6 months, I've bought several applications through the market without any problems. Yesterday, I bought Camera Zoom FX which downloaded just fine. But after downloading, it's been stuck at "Installing." in the Download-section of my Market. It sais "Purchased" in the upper right corner (as usual) and I've received the receipt through e-mail. I tried to install another app afterwards, and that worked just fine. Its about 24 hours since I purchased the app now, but it's still trying to install. I've rebooted the phone at least 5 times, cleared the Market-cache before and after rebooting. I've even tried to remove my SD-card just in case.If I click and hold the application in the Market-app, the only choice I get is "Details", not "Uninstall" and the other options I usually get. When I go to the apps details, the button at the bottom is greyed out and says "Installing..". This means I can't cancel the installation or choose uninstall.
My Hero has the official 2.1 version (fully updated) without root or other modifications.I've looked through the forum several times, including what seems to be relevant posts, but I can't seem to find any real solution for this problem. Anyone know how I can fix this? I think it's really strange that Android doesn't have any form of time-out or something for this..

Oct 27, 2009I'm really new to the Android world and just got the Hero a couple of days ago and it is overwhelming on what this phone can do but I'm not sure if its the phone for me.I love the Market app and have downloaded a lot of apps just to try them out and now I have so many that I would like to remove some of them but I can't figure out how to do this. I have searched the User's Guide but haven't found anything in it unless I missed it but need some help here, so how do you remove apps and games from this phone?

Oct 3, 2010Today i have been having some fun today downloading and yes buying (!) apps from the mkt. well, i started getting a little instability - i couldn't get an IP from my wireless router --- i had d/l "wifi keep alive" and "wifi reconnect" and "wifi reassociation". so i went to the mkt intending to uninstall one by one until i restored my ability to DHCP to the router. selecting the "downloads" section of the mkt revealed only about two pages worth of apps. believe me - i have a LOT more apps than that! mostly all the apps that appear are purchased apps (one exception - gmail is there too) - but even then, not "all" of my purchased apps are there! in doing my due dilligence checking to see if anyone else had this problem and solved it, i found this thread and this thread - neither of which have anything to say to help me. ANY idea how to get my apps to show up in the mkt? the apps themselves ARE STILL ON MY hero, they just don't appear in the mkt)

HTC EVO 4G :: Downloaded Apps Aren't In My Market?
Nov 5, 2010I had to get my Evo replaced today and I used ASTRO and MyBackup Pro to backup my apps to my SD Card. After installing them onto my new Evo, I went to the Market and then to Downloads, and they don't show up there. How am I suppose to know when I will have an update?

Jul 25, 2010I downloaded launcher pro and switch pro apps. Then I installed a non-market app I got from xda (gallery3d if it matters). After installing that app, launcher pro required a force quit. Now I have my switch pro widget near the bottom of the screen on the home screen. When launcher pro reloaded and put back all my widgets, it looks like it sort of mirrored the switch app on the bottom, behind the dock where the phone and contacts buttons are. It's sort of half on and half off the screen. I can't long press on it, or interact with it in any way. I have tried reloading the switch pro widget, but that doesn't do anything. I have also tried restarting launcher pro, which also has no effect. Rebooting the phone also does not solve. Weird, huh? What do you all think?

Oct 18, 2010I've tried downloading a few apps from the market and they seem to download fine but when they start to install it fails every single time. I've tried clearing the cache of the market then force closeing and rebooting phone and I read that launching google talk could help that hasnt either. The apps in particular are "Angry Birds" and "Baseball Superstarts 2010" both are the full versions. I want to get Angry Birds before it isnt free anymore. Also I am rooted on Clockwork Rom with KingxKernal BFS. And all other apps and updates download and install fine which is really odd.

I know how to create a widget that will do this with Tasker, and I suspect that LP's shortcut maker will do it, but I've yet to find a good tutorial on how to use it if you're not already a dev.
